awwwwwww your puppy is like my one bt instead everytime mine sees anither dog no matter what size she will start barking at them wantng to play with them biting ad growling haha my babie thinks she s a rotweiler
I am truly sorry to hear about Blue Jay, this video was one that helped me decide on an Airedale as a companion, oddly enough Blue Jay is Molly-Anne's father, a Copperfields dog.
im thinking of getting a airedale , but have heard they temperment problems and have the tendacy of attacking other male dogs, have you had any problems with your airedale?
@checha32 Depends if yours is a alpha or not. Mine was a Big time,But he was really sweet, and protected my lil sister as if she was his own child. I miss toby so much.
wow this is the only airedale ive seen that is identical to mine. Groomers typically dont have any idea how to cut their hair but this is remarkable. I'm sorry about you losing Jay. My airedale turns 11 soon and it will be terribly hard to lose him. I will never love an animal as much as him. Thank you for this video
Couldn't help it, the Airdale on this video looks exactly like mine looked.
He is the dog I'll remember all my life. They bring you happiness, even after they pass away. For fifteen years, our furry guy was our biggest inspiration. Now, that he is gone, I wish more people could understand the joy of being friends with an Airdale Terrier.
@CowsXonXcrack Hum no its all depend. Yea mine took 1 years of ability and guard maybe hes mad cuz of it.. and YES mine want to bite everyone .. Well Bite is not the perfect word to Describe him, he want to kill lol.
Update on this video. The wee puppy is now 2 years old, and is now an American/Canadian Champion. He was the #1 Norwich terrier in Canada 2008. He has won Best in Show 3 times! The gentleman Airedale is also a big winner from the past, Am. Can. Champion Oakrun's Blue Jay of Paradym, two-time Airedale "Bowl" winner in US and 4 time Best in Show winner in Canada. Sadly, we just lost "Jay" a week ago to cancer, just shy of his 12th birthday. I am so glad to have this video to remember him by.
am so sorry to hear about Jay, As Sherman ( CH Serendipity's Marching Thru Georgia)and Jay are related I thought you might like to know he is featured in the "airedale babysitting scottie pups" video. We had a scare with Sherman a month ago, the vet found a calcified cyst near his bladder. Luckily it was benign and removed without too much trouble. We also have a Peter daughter, who has filled in for Sherman when necessary. She keeps a more orderly pack!
sorry to hear about your dogs passing away we just lost are airdale to cancer. they are the best family dog you can get palyfull, lots of character, and a clown for the family.
@kellyon4 Somone just posted a responce to a post i did, Im soooooo sorry to read that you lost the airedale. :( , I Didnt even know him,and i got teary. i Really miss mine soo much.
same with my airedale. He got a brain tumor when he was 9. It was so bad the last few weeks befor we put him to sleep. He could'nt walk and we had to life him up to bring him outside and when we put him down, he just collapses and laid there. My other airedale, which is his biological sister, stayed away from. I think she knew somthing was wrong with dublin. :(
I would be careful about getting an airedale, and even more so if you have never had another dog. I've had airedales since I was a kid, and I have one now, and I can tell you that they can be challenging, to say the least. If you don't know what you are doing, they can be willful, stubborn, and they can destroy many things in your house. They need lots and lots of exercise as well as a firm hand, and they need to be mentally stimulated ALL the time. Be careful.
really? well i've had dogs before but not an airedale... :/ well i think it would be a great experiance and im not thinking about having it inside. i have a really large backyard so i was thinking it would do great backthere. of coarse it will have a dog house and toys to play with while im at school but thanks for the advice :D
I don't mean to discourage you from getting a dog, but Airedales need more than a big yard and toys. They are very hyper and need lots of attention. They need to go on a walk daily, and they need to be in the house, be part of your family, and interact with you. If left alone, toys won't do, they'll get bored and destroy things. Moreover, they mature later than other dogs, and they can still act as puppies even when they are 3 or 4 years old. Hence, they need a very firm hand. So, caveat emptor!
yes i understand. and i will definatly take really good care of my dog. i will have it both out and indoors and i plan on taking it on walks every week. plus i need a dog that can go to the park and walk with me. so again thanks for the advice
Very well said and so right. Airedales can be a handful, no make that they ARE a handful and not for the novice. Too many end up in shelters or foster homes. Thank god for their enduring good nature and spirit.
dude, you make it seem like they are untrainable and a pain in the ass, and not like nearly every other dog-that is they need attention and exercise, like any other dog.
I have had two airedales and they are wonderful dogs that do tend to stay like puppies for 3 or more years-but they are not that different from other dogs in terms of attention they are a lot of fun, and usually very smart, so if you have the patience you can train em to do anything-search for agility and airedale to see that
SO CUTE!! I have an airedale named scooby and a cairn named buster buster is 1 year old ( just!!) and scooby 3 . Buster is always trying to get the attention of scooby!!!
Airedales, what great dogs they are. We co-owned an Airdale years ago (Bravo's Comet Streak) named Buddy. He is long gone now but will live on in our hearts forever. Would someday soon love to add a Norwich to our family. Have been wanting a Black & Tan for quite awhile. We have a Cairn now (our 2nd) and a beautiful Golden mix.
Kelly - Jay looks great! Must be 12 years old now, and as beautiful as when he won breed at Westminster. Marco tugs my heart. Makes me want to add a Norwich to my brood of Airedales.
