  • is it a click between each scratch segment? 1f click 1f click 1b-1b click1b click then 1f?

  • OMG!

  • wooow

  • So show us !!!

  • id rather not see that

  • this is just way too complex to follow.. at least at this speed

  • 2 clicks forwoard 2 back 1 forward and 2 back. really hard. been in the game 15 years and like DAMN

  • i think it is 1f2b 2f1b or 2f1b 1f2b with the vinyl.

  • 2 forward 1bacc & 1forward 2 bacc, ppl on here try to make it real complicated so you can't picc up on it... but it's real simple...aka Blaze

  • is there a slow moe for this scratch please. it looks like flares.. back en forth

  • total destruction of xfader .....

  • great ive watched this video twice and i have it just as close!

haha SIKE! but from other tutorials im getting there

    =]

  • this scratch makes me crazyyyyy!!

  • very hard to do!!

  • G*D almight, Q's madness will never stop. Thats like the prism on crack and steroids.

  • i wanna learn it, its a really nice sound

  • that's Q no doubt..

  • It sounds really good!. I like this scratch

  • That's Q allright. There's no other person in the world that can cut it up like that. Also his hand movemement on both fader and record hand is easily recognizable...

    Q is the dopest!

  • I asked Q - it's him. If you have seen TTVs, you would know that names like "koo koo in da poo poo" are Q-Bert's aliases (wearing wigs 'n stuff). So this "Mean Mug" is Q-Bert.

FYI - Tek Threat is not an alias, he's an actual DJ in SF.

  • well said.

It is in fact Q, and FYI Rafik is also an actual DJ people :)

  • Yeah, recorded few months before Rafik became world champ.

  • Watch 1:05-1:12 on DJ Mana's video on the Prizm scratch. You should be able to hear the "original flare --> reverse original flare" sound. The guy that's scratching on this video is doing it way too fast and you won't be able to hear it.

  • The easiest way to master this scratch is to stop thinking "flares on top of tears"... that'll just confuse you more. When I thought of doing "flares on top of tears", I only ended up doing something similar to dicing.

Think "original flare ---> reverse original flare". It's exactly the same pattern but easier to think of. Trust me...

[I've basically figured this out literally a minute ago... I was just practicing my original flares!]

  • q or not. this guy is fuckin nasty wit it

  • thats qbert people

  • dude it is q get a clue

  • I wish it wasnt all hamster style on the right turntable, im the complete opposite :'(

  • i can do this scratch now.. but i cant break it down THAT fast like this guy can... its fuckin crampin my fingers

  • thats not dj qbert which in this case you didnt know

  • yeah it is - qbert performed most of the cutz in the vid he just used aliases to be funny.

  • i have this video on actual dvd and it says who performs the scratch

  • maybe he did do a lot of videos, but this is not him. qbert never has that "crippled hand" look on the mixer hand and his skin color is a bit darker i'd say

  • All I can say is that I've never heard anyone do the prizm with that level of speed and precision except for qbert.

  • ..... tueche'

  • Many others can do this scratch also.

for example, DJ Mana, he has a tutorial on this scratch also somewhere on youtube.

  • Scratchlopedia Breaktannica im going to buy me this

  • Excellent!!

  • damn nice!
