Mac OSX Leopard 10.5.2 on a Dell PC OSx86

please help me. i also have the dell inspiron 530 and i used kalway 10.5.2 and i got the the install succeeded and then when it booted back up into the cd the whole process started again. it went straight into the choose language screen instead of finishing the setup.

@aklesunio you need to pop out the DVD before the computer loads the installation process. i hope this helps-

You need a lot of resources to get it up and running though. Like enough processing, Ram and HardDrive.

when bootloader starts, hit f8. at the prompt type -v -f then enter. you also might have to tweak your bios. good luck

I have tried kalaway and iatkos, they both install fine, but when I boot up it freezes and a little circle with a line through it comes up and it just stays there, do you know what that means?

Who said he didn't have a Core2Duo.. and it doesnt look unstable in this video, nor is it unstable on my old toshiba satelite that I have OSX Tiger installed on.. PCs and Macs have almost all the same hardware now, so stability is not an issue, drivers are really the only issue.

you get a headache from worrying about updates whether it would crash your whole OS and etc...

plus things like target disk mode, resetting pram, is not worth it. the whole thing ruins the mac experience.

the mac experience is supposed to be, everything works

u shouldnt have to worry about system configs/updates etc... of course thats not necessarily always the case but it does a better job than windows

anyways, i have a white 24" 2.16 imac now

it costed me around 1200

while the dell rig costed me around 1000 (that includes the cheap 24" monitor)

with 200 more dollars, i get webcam/bluetooth/wireless support, no worrying about software update crashes, support from applecare from any hardware failure, and s S-IPS panel while the dell was a TN panel

the only thing dell wins is the fact that its a quad core

I think its a great thing, i just recently purchased an Inspiron 530.. have been toying with the idea of a Leopard partition.. I also bought a macbook pro 2.5Ghz, its ok, but the Dell outperforms it. As far as just working, my macbook didn't just work when I got it.. major problems but all taken care of now.

Pentium D 925 (will replace it with c2d next time)

2GB 667mhz ram

8600gts 512mb

but after installing combo update i had the blank screen bug EVERY bootup... did you have that problem too?
