I've definitely heard Shady Grove with some of the same verses. Especially the "shoes and stockings in her hand". It's just that kind of music, isn't it? The kind that feels a little better and more homey decades, sometimes centuries later because it was never 100% new even when it was written.
I want to know the finger picking pattern you are using. I cannot get clawhammer down at all, but am trying to learn various patterns.

That's a new shirt. Nice!
Why are banjos always on people's knees? How could they play them? And wouldn't it be hard on the knees? What's up with that?
UKISOCIETY 2 years ago
new shirt or hat? ha ha....i'm always wearing T-shirts....the slippers are new :)
and i think your banjo/knee questions are more than valid.....should we start a research group regarding this?

What a great woman, what with the banjo and all...
Seems like I have heard "Shady Grove" with some of the same verses. Excellent version.
And like kc8afw, I don't think I know exactly what slack key means.
