  • watch?v=GfaKbUNH6xI

  • u can set the 3g to flight mode to get better game play cuz some times the signal makes the game slag

  • Yeah I have the iPhone 3GS running on 3.1.3 and it does the same thing. I'll be

scrolling through my contacts and my phone will spaz out and not work. It sucks!!!

  • same issue on mine, but it's running OS 3.1.2. It's even slower response. It's been like this for almost 24 hours.

i'll be getting a blackberry or droid soon.

  • Try updating to the latest iPhone software update.. 2.2

May be some background Process is happening.

  • It usually helps to either restart your iPhone or to respring it.

  • Very grateful to all these videos uploaded by poor Apple users! Had tried an iPhone myself and found it unbelievably, horribly slow -- I shan't be buying one. At least, not until the problem is fixed.

  • Same issue on mine, I even restored it and didn't even install any apps. basically a clean slate and it does it ... wtf!

  • Put it in restore mode and restore it. Thats how mine got fixed.

  • Brutal. Experiencing this on my iPhone NON 3G, and software 2.0. Seems intermittent, which is the worst.....hard to troubleshoot.

  • yeah this is exactly the same as me.. it's so random that it even went from lag to normal AS i was typing out a text.. wtf? infuriating and impossible to troubleshoot as the people in the O2 shop are narbs and the Apple support section of their site is useless. annoying as hell! dunno what to do about it.

  • The same happens on firmware 2.1? :O

  • yeah.. updated it twice since updating to 2.0 and nothing has changed the lag.. dunno what to do but i can confirm that holding the home button for 5 seconds or so does usually fix the problem for the time being!

  • yeah I can confirm only had my iphone for a few days 16gb and I am finding the same problem. Apple should release a fix because honestly its pretty pathetic and should have been resolved through apple testing. I am going to go as far as to say the phone is always useless when it lags that bad. This problem alone gives all blackberry phones the edge.

  • yep...got it too, no idea why it shows up but it sucks a**. Also iphone wont sync properly with outlook contact. always getting entrid error...another apple fix that needs to be made

  • I have this problem as well. I was rebooting it to make the lag go away but I'll try the holding-down-the-home-key trick. I rarely ever had this problem on the 2g phone. The 3g phone has several problems for me now vs 2g: auto-brightness, slow-typing, slow-wifi on type "N" wifi networks.

  • what's a type "n" wifi network?

  • This problem is jacked up. Does this on my new 16GB too. And i just did the firmware update for 2.0.1. HOWEVER, someone suggested holding the home button for 5 seconds and i find that i actually works. Try it.

  • i want to get an unlocked 3g iphone but it seems the only way to fix the lag is an update and if i do that it will permanently lock the phone. Does the first gen iphone lag also?

  • does the first gen iphone do this?

  • It's not the phone but the firmware. This happened in pre-2.0 phones, but much less often. It has become VERY common since the 2.0fw release. Get it together, Apple.

  • I'm having the same lag problem. Thanks for putting that video up as someone has referred to this on the Apple forum. I hope they figure it out because it's annoying! Happened on my first-generation iphone, and it is happening on my 16G.

  • mine does it to

it will start lagging like after a phone call or randomly

so while im texting i found out that to fix the lag i have to just make a phone call and it stops lagging

so i hope apple fixes this problem

  • Yeah i can confirm that this appears to work.

  • same with the jailbroken 2.0 firmware on 1st gen iphones

  • My iPhone does this occasionally too, and it's the original version, not the 3G. I don't remember seeing this until I did the firmware 2.0 update though - so I think it's a memory leak or bug in it. Powering the phone off and on again gets it back to normal for me, at least for a while.

  • yeah man my is slow even in safari that shit sucks bro

  • yup, i get the sms lag as well. i've noticed it in all apps which use keyboard so far. it only happens now and then...and when it does i just hold down the "home" key for 5 seconds and it seems to work fine afterwards. i just hope apple is aware of this issue as it's extremely annoying when i have an important message to send out

  • lol, mine does the same thing, one day it works fast, then another day it lags like hell. i hope they really fix this problem or i might just have to return this ishit!

  • Same problem here. Apple will probably update the firmware soon.

  • Yes, I had the problem too. I turned off the phone by holding down the power button. The mail app was fine after I turned it back on.

  • Yeah, I've had this problem. I seem to have to power cycle to get it to go back to normal; it's a real pain.

  • i have an iphone 3g (black woohoo) and my typing works fine!!

  • my ipod touch is fine yay firmware 2.0!

  • My typing is OK (US/English iPhone)

  • same thing happens to mine.. but restarting the email seems to solve problem.. i notice it happens when replying to an email of after a long conversation with text.
