A good trick to get reaaaaaaly good smoke is, in the bottom, take a few coals, and light them. But before you do this, takefruit wood chunks, preferably cherry, apple or mesquite, and place them in a bucket of water, for a couple hours. Place them on the lit coals, and instead of burning, they will smoke for about 8-12 , hours, then start to burn away.
