And also he said that he didnt have the youth he wanted (as he was married in his early 20's) and wants to experience it. i dont think they need to get a divoce. i mean that is my oppion but luckley they didnt split up the kids. it takes two parents to handle 8 kids not just 1 at a time. i mean i know what jon did and that it is not right. and i know that they have been strugling through his actions for a while. but they should work things out. they need to be a family. it is really not fair on the kids at all. now it seems like it puts the kids in the spot.
First of all everyone- IT TAKES TWO. Whether she was controlling or not, Jon has his own issues. You can't pass judgement on one and not the other. I think that had they not publisized their life so much, they would be able to deal with their problems a little better. I hear a major boycott of TLC and its affiliates is going to happen as former fans of the show are fed up with whats going on and the show is now no longer kid friendly in my opinion. TLC is going to be filming the kids in NY at Jon's new apartment & the PA house. So the kids will later be ping ponging back-N-forth. SHAME on TLC for keeping this show going.
I expect all the kids to sue both their parents AND TLC for their share of THEIR money they worked for and when they get older.

As someone who used to watch this show I must implore TLC and Ms. ONeill {TLC/Discovery President} to please cancel this show.
This show is no longer family-friendly viewing, and even more troublesome is the effect this show will have on the children as they go through this ordeal.
The children should not be exploited just so the parents can benefit financially.
But it wont happen as Ms.ONeill has said its hard to walk away from great numbers/ratings.

I think it's sad that they have gotten a divorce. I was a HUGE fan of the show and now i'm not that interested. It's sad that they r so worried about what other ppl think that they would hide the seperation and now divorce. i dont think they need to get a divoce. i mean that is my oppion but luckley they didnt split up the kids. it takes two parents to handle 8 kids not just 1 at a time. i mean i know what jon did and that it is not right. and i know that they have been strugling through his actions for a while. but they should work things out. they need to be a family. it is really not fair on the kids at all. now it seems like it puts the kids in the spot.

First of all everyone- IT TAKES TWO. Whether she was controlling or not, Jon has his own issues. You can't pass judgement on one and not the other. I think that had they not publisized their life so much, they would be able to deal with their problems a little better. I don't know Jon or Kate personally. All I know it what I have heard via the media. In my opinion, what started out as an awesome family story has turned so ugly. It is truly ashame for these eight young children! I think Jon and Kate have changed since the show started (not for the better). They, as parents, should take a season off from the show and really try to work on their marriage for the sake of these children. With these young kids, you should really try to make this work.

I really hate when people say it that way, the kids have a good time, they are very happy, well taken care of, well educated, etc. They're getting money but they're still giving their kids a good life; better than most kids get, and will get to go to college and get to be whatever they want. How is calling people names making the show look more like 'family' entertainment. How does it reflect anything other than negatively on the show?
I also strongly recommend you look up the term 'exploitation' as well as 'documentary'. J&K hasn't been one for a good while. It's now listed as 'family TV' which means the reality has been pulled.
Lastly, when you sell yours and your children's privacy, you have no right to complain about the media. You've given them permission.

the whole thing with jon cheating on kate wasnt true. Jon said "i never cheated on kate" but unfortunately they might be getting a divorce, because when the interviewer asked kate if the party was bittersweet, she started crying and said that that might be their last family picture, and that the divorce rate of multiple parents was trippled and she thought theyd be able to beat that but now shes not so sure.I hope they dont divorce

oh, and the 'stay in it for the kids' thing doesn't always fly either. I know lots of older ladies who stayed in abuse for their kids. Only now their grown kids are in abusive relationships themselves, are addicted to drugs, are in jail, or worse: one adult daughter killed herself, crediting her horrible childhood. Fixing marriage is good but it takes two. Making abuse 'work' for the kids sake is not the answer.

TLC you should pull this show if you have any moral compass. This is the Learning Channel. Watching this poor family fall apart, while great for your ratings, is not fair to these children. I realize that they are probably in contract to do a new season, but there are kids involved and this all came to head right before filming.
