your tutorials are really helpful for a start up photographer like me......i plan to buy a dslr, but i'm confused if i shld get a full frame or a crop sensor camera...pls guide
@rwarlekar Usually full frame sensor gives you a better image quality, but they are also much more expensive. For start up photographer crop sensor would be just fine. I shoot Nikon D7000, which is crop sensor camera and very happy with it. I am dreaming so about a new D800, which just come out. This one is full frame sensor. It is going to be about $3000 (just body). If I were you I would buy a cheaper camera and invest more in lenses. I will try to make a video comparing full and crop sensor.
really helpful tutorials. I advised these tutorials to my friend who is learning how to get good photography stuffs. Thank you very much for creating these videos.
I really think that your videos are the best introduction to how cameras work on YouTube!
I already knew most of what was in your video, but I was still interested throughout the whole video. I love how you give examples to illustrate what you talk about.
Also, I did learn that a longer focal length increases blur. I just thought it was blurrier because it was zoomed in more and thus a little blur would look more when cropped. However, it seems that the blur really increases when zoomed in.
@bwinn10 Honestly I don't know. I just got it recently, because I liked how cool it looks. I will let you know if I ever test it. Of cause if I can find a film for it :). Also projector is probably needed to play the film.
im glad you took a pic of the ruler at diffent apatures because it shows how much dof you get with each fstop like at f1.4 you get around 1 inch from the point of focus at f4 3inchs and so on. its really usefull stuff that alot of people dont bring up in apature videos.
