Hey..ive saved up some money and really have no clue what to spend it on lol...so i thought about buying another GBB...soo i used to have a WE 1911..and i really liked it...i loved the full metal and I was just wondering if this is worth the buy....I know that tokyo marui makes high end guns but I really dont know if it would be worth the money...im willing to pay but I just cant decide.
@AwesomeAlex95 Good question. In my experience, WE makes good upfront quality pistols. Out of the box, you will be very impressed with one, however, very quickly you will find that the quality leaves something to be desired. Mine began falling apart after maybe two-hundred rounds through it. My advice, spend a little extra money and get the better replica, which is a tokyo marui. If you are worried about it not being all metal, dont be. The plastic is very high quality and I am not afraid to
@cpdude2 The problem I have with this pistol is that its ALL plastic except a few parts. For me that means I've gotta buy a metal kit. So depending on where you go Your looking at $270 to get this thing in top condition. So is it worth it? If your buying it not planning to resell it (you'd lose a shit load of money) then yes, if you want to try and resell it eventually then no.
I`m planning to buy an airsoft pistol. can you recomend me one? I want the pistol to be FULL METAL internal/external, about 1000-1500 grams, blowback, and very very realistic. please help me.
@aecrim851 Well, to be absolutely honest, Some of the best Gas Blow Back Pistols are not full metal, and some of the worst ones I've seen have been full metal. I've gotten to fire the New Tokyo Marui 5-7 GBB and I have to say it is one of the most solid and realistic replica's I've ever seen and I plan on purchasing one ASAP. If you want something a little different and are willing to shell out a little bit more dough than average, this is for you.
@miraclemuaythai Thank you! The origional Detonics .45 and the Hard Chrome version are the same gun internally and externally aside from the chrome coloring.
@anusquam Yes I live in the USA. The Orange tip does come with all replicas sold in the US, however, it comes right off if you give it a tug with a pair of pliers.
hey cpdude2, first off nice review. I plan to buy myself a detonics .45 i was just wondering how durable the plastic slide is coz i used to have a s&w which had a plastic slide and i had to replace the slide twice as it kept breaking. Also can you buy real wooden grips for this gun?
@beezman84 Do not let the fact that the slide is plastic put you off. Marui uses a very high quality plastic that is very durable as compared to, say, a Western Arms. I have had mine for over a year and a half, and have even run it on propane for a while (not reccomended, or necessary, for that matter) and have yet to have any problems with it, even after dropping it indoors on cement floors more than a few times.
No it is a plastic slide replica. However do not let that deter you. If you are dead set on a metal slided pistol, you can buy a metal slide kit. That would also make it safer to run green gas/propane thorugh.
Just chronoed yesterday with duster. It shot consistently at about 200 fps. I havent gotten a chance to chrono with green gas yet, but I'd imagine it is somewhere around 230fps
Absolutely. If you know anything about Tokyo Marui, they are for all intents and purposes, the gold standard of the industry. I actually managed to accidentally throw this gun a good 15 feet across my cement porch, and there was still not more than a few small scratches on the very front of the pistol.
sorry i dont know if you mentioned it but, where did you get yours from? also i just wanted to let you know if you already didn't, that using duster gas is fine but you still have to remember to lube/oil your pistol since duster gas doesn't contain any.
Yup, thats very true about the duster. As for where I got mine, I bought it off a friend who won it in the Redwolf airsoft commercial contest. I know that they carry it, but thats a dealer out of HK, so Id check around the LARGER airsoft dealers in the US for it, as its a fairly hard peice to find.
actually this one is quite easy to find. try ehobbyasia, redwolf, federalairsoft, airsoftextreme, and airsoftatlanta. they should have them if i'm not mistaken
this is the only review with the black and wood version. 4 some reason everybody gets the silver and black one when this looks much better

is it easy to take the TM .45 to pieces cus i wnt to spry mine silver
mark1vernon 2 years ago
It shouldn't be any more difficlt than any other GBB
cpdude2 2 years ago
dont spray it silver. just buy a silver slide for it. then you wont risk messing something up and youl have 2 slides
sniper11235 2 years ago
Already sprayed it, its fine. Used chrome paint so it looks metal
