i bet most of yall are corny ass white boys who really think you have an opinion in this. the reason hip hop sucks today is because of the media hatred and the ignorance of the new up and coming rappers. learn your knowledge then talk!
Just finish watching this film at my house and kicking my self because I should have gone to the theaters to feel the vibe of my fellow ATCQ peers. . One more album plz..
I've seen this movie twice and in two days I'm gonna see it again. Its so real and just awesome. Gave me chills watching it each time, cause deep down as a fan, I am hoping that they give us just one more album....TRUTH!!!!
@tylerstone1980 I wasn't planning on watching the movie regardless but JUST SAYING I just thought the song was a tad catchy which is why I asked. That whole paragraph you just wrote was some extra shit, I'd rather you not have answered. Bye! :-)
this movie was beyond satisfying. I grew up listening to ATCQ and their music holds up tremendously. They were, and still are, extremely creative and likeable artists.
I think every young, up-and-coming emcee should school themselves in 90's hip-hop. was born in 92. I didnt hear about ATCQ until 07'. I didnt even know conscious rappers existed at that point. but the fact is; I heard it. Some of these younger "rappers" will never learn about good music unless directors like Mr. Rappaport and older musicians impress it on them. I cant wait to see this film. More so, I cant wait to experience it.
i think this is going to be a step to reviving underground hip hop..people who don't know who ATCQ is.. is going to hear their music after this film and then they will spread it and so on..but this is just my opinion
@CindySaysRawr what's the name of the song at the end? lol, arguably their most recognized song, 'can i kick it?'. i can tell that the act of watching this movie with you is not going to be an easy task. do your friends a favor, either start listening to tribe now and know their records before you go see this. OR, make sure you don't accompany them whenever you do watch it. not trying to be a dick, but i'm predicting you asking ALOT of questions while the movie is on
I hate it when people say this group or that group was the best in hip-hop because every time you say one group you have to re-consider when you're reminded of another group with a different style that's just as good or better.
In my opinion Gang Starr and A Tribe called Quest were the finest bands ever to come from the music of HipHop... and it took guts to say that because just look at the many acts or groups that have graced HipHop Music...
The best groups and coming from the best period of time within HipHop Music - 1988 to 1996 - THe Golden period....
@hugojunior93 - I thought I would get some reaction to the comment I made in regards to A Tribe called Quest and Gang Starr. I just think that took HipHop to another level introducing different themes into the music of HipHop and help popularise the music of Jazz music within HipHop. Jazz music is American Insitution. It one of the true Musical art forms to have been created in America. It wasn't until these two bands popularised the music in HipHop that other bands realised how important it is.
Dude! I'm in a group with you. You're not my daddy!!

The most overrated hip hop group ever. It's telling that the documentary was made by a cracker because us black folks know Tribe is shit.

@CindySaysRawr Although if you're looking for the bass sample it's Walk On the Wild Side by Lou Reed.
