interesting thing. some in Judaism believe that adam was told not to eat it, then told eve not to even touch it, so the serpent got her to touch it and when nothing happened she thought it was ok to eat it. thus the lesson is to not add to the law.

But Omar, if god is all seeing and all knowing, he understands the past the present and the future, he is omniscient...that means that he knew when he created Eve that she would be tricked into eating the fruit, and he knew he's have to punish Adam and Eve. Why would he want to have to punish his creations?

I used to wonder that myself - the whole "predistination" thing. I think God can't help knowing everything. He is whom He is. You see throughout scripture God telling people what they need to do (and the consequences if they don't do it) and people ultimately do it anyway. What's awesome is that He is so merciful that when we sinned by eating the food reserved for the house party, He sent His Son to redeem us. Jesus is the "Second Adam".

So it's almost like he's so caring, that he tells us not to do something, knowing that we will do it anyway, but he cares and trusts us as his creations so much, that he is willing to put his premonition behind him, even though he was right?

Something like that. It's kinda like when you tell your kids not to touch the stove because it's hot - but you know they're going to do it anyway. You can't help that you know - you just do from experience. When they burn themselves you don't hold it over them - you heal their wounds. God is the same way. Does that make sense?
