I fought them recently in Mobile Suit Gundam: Spirit of Zeon ~Memory of Soldier~ they were hard and fought kinda dirty but they had a jet stream attack move of their own starting with Beam saber slash Horizontal, Shoulder ram , Point blank cannon blast then beam slash vertical. They were using 3 GM Command Kai Space type and 1 GM Sniper II. I'm going to build IV team in 144 scale. They rule.

bought the complete collection this past weekend at NYCC straight from Bandai. i am not disappointed AT ALL. made me happy to hear this on the main menu screen.
Epic stuff...Monsha perving on Nina with the GM custom subcam and looking away when spotted...bwahahahaha. The antics between Kou, Keith Lt Burning, Monsha, etc just hilarious. I like how the older UC series were sometimes serious and slapstick. When you watch the older series, you appreciate the homage some of the newer series are trying eg Gundam AGE Ep 1 clearly borrows from Stardust Memory Ep 2 or 3 when Gato steals the GP02. the hangars at night, also GP01's design borrowed by AGE 1 normal

I pretty much 100% agree, except I think 00 did genuinely have some of the X-factor that makes UC superior. Sergei Smirnov/Soma Peries were the stars of the show for me, much like Zinnerman/Marida Cruz are in Unicorn. That is to say, characters who are actually likable, and aren't in any way preening teenagers with ridiculous hair. :)

In Gundam SEED, 3 gundams were stolen from the Earth Alliance. Then in SEED DESTINY, 3 gundams were stolen from ZAFT! Fuck! Do they ever learn how to keep an eye on their gundams? How many more gundams have to get stolen until it stops? Ten? Twenty? Fifty?!

In order to prevent any government or organization from obtaining their technology, the Gundam Wing pilots are willing to sacrifice their gundams so that they won't be used for any evil purposes. Of course, they would only do it as a last resort, in case they ran out of any other options to escape their enemies. Celestial Being would do the same with their gundams and the GN drives as well.

This series honors zeon, It shows that even despite their grave loss of men, morale and man power that they still believe in the course that Gihren set their people upon. Even though Zeon is nothing but a distant memory for them they still fight and fight for it, I respect them for that. May Zeon rise again! SEIG ZEON!!!
@mikeosop Technically 0080 is the prequel to 0083 Kidou senshi Zeta gundam. The titans such as bask show up in both this and zeta, but keith and what not don't ever show up again in gundam history.

@AcidSoldner you know i wish all future gundam series were still animated in the beatiful cell drawings of the 90s. Sure the HD tech and the vivid colours and effects are nice. I guess Gundam Wing really has set my prejudice. It also helps having fleshed out story lines that get you involved with the characters. Watching ep 4 Stardust memory, where the ensign aboard the Albion notifies Monsha "Lt Burning is royally pissed at you" the look on Monsha's face is hilarious.
I didn't see this back in the 90s. But I sure do remember watching this back in the early to mid 2000s when it was on Adult Swim. It's been a number of years now, but I still remember this like it was nothing!
This was the first series that the amazing Toshihiro Kawamoto (Golden Boy, Gundam 08MS Team, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, etc.) was given the job of character designer. He is now one of the top artists a Bones (Studio) {Fullmetal Alchemist, Darker than Black, Rahxephon, etc.}. Just fantastic!

@Sazbi i think the reason a lot of people dislike seed/etc is because it revolves too much about " fuck yeah look im some super badass that has better piloting skills than the rest of u fgts" setting, whereas the UC timeline is set to a slightly more realistic setting, where the pilot is a normal human who struggles towards his goal/destiny and has a bit more of a militaristic feel.
@BloodFortAndromeda I love the realism in these old UC series. Like the part in 08th MS Team when they had to stop in the desert because there was sand in a filter of some sort. I think only the SEED series really had pilots that were "super" pilots right off the bat. But since the majority of the pilots in the series were coordinators it kinda dispelled that feeling for me, since they were mostly still rookies anyways, and at least the playing field was even.
@Zenigundam Ditto bro, watching Gundam, Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim those were the days. And let's not forget Toonami during the weekdays. DBZ, 08th MS Team and the original Gundam. Dang man, awesome times.
@PkMntrainerDylan09 not really they just had old type pilots and couldn't get true performance out of them. they were actually better in every aspect speed, handling, firepower and survivability.
i always feel sad when a animated series of this level is broadcasted on a channel like cartoon network or something similar, like between two shows for 8 year olds or whatever, this is like a serious peace of art(work) with a lot of content, that shouldn't be looked upon as some random cartoon, and this is true for lots of japanimation in the west... and you know it

@Sazbi i think the reason a lot of people dislike seed/etc is because it revolves too much about " fuck yeah look im some super badass that has better piloting skills than the rest of u fgts" setting, whereas the UC timeline is set to a slightly more realistic setting, where the pilot is a normal human who struggles towards his goal/destiny and has a bit more of a militaristic feel.

@BloodFortAndromeda I love the realism in these old UC series. Like the part in 08th MS Team when they had to stop in the desert because there was sand in a filter of some sort. I think only the SEED series really had pilots that were "super" pilots right off the bat. But since the majority of the pilots in the series were coordinators it kinda dispelled that feeling for me, since they were mostly still rookies anyways, and at least the playing field was even.

i always feel sad when a animated series of this level is broadcasted on a channel like cartoon network or something similar, like between two shows for 8 year olds or whatever, this is like a serious peace of art(work) with a lot of content, that shouldn't be looked upon as some random cartoon, and this is true for lots of japanimation in the west... and you know it
