  • (part 2)

lying in an office chair. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly fans praising Nick, and saying, glory to Nick in the highest, and on earth laughs and good gossip toward men."

That's what Christmas is all about, Tori Vega.

  • "And there were in the same country teens abiding on the beach, keeping watch over their age by night. And, lo, the angel of Nick came upon them, and the glory of Nick shone round about them, and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you tidings of great comedy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of LA, a savior, Dan Schneider the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you, Ye shall find the man wrapped in a suit

  • I love Charlie Brown and the Peanuts Gang

  • Best Christmas special moment of all time. You're a good man Charles Schulz.

  • Atheism ftw i celebrate christmas to get prsents

  • Christmas is like sex. Giving is better than receiving.

  • Just so you guys know, Charles Schulz pretty much rejected religion later in his life. He became a secular humanist.

  • Jesus should come down and thank Linus publicly!

  • Religion is totally NOT what I took away from this as a kid. It was about appreciating things in spite of their appearance and searching for a deeper meaning in something.

  • Did i miss this on television December or did they just not show it ? :/

  • @coolkidmars they normally show this in the beginning of December

  • Im playin linus in a show...BLANKET FTFW

  • Nice!

  • Fun Fact #2 - This show almost didn't even air because network execs thought it was too slow. And the fact that actual children did the voices made it seem less professional. They allowed it to air, and a good thing they did, now it's a cult classic!

  • Fun Fact: Jesus was born in August... (Note im not byist im stating facts here)

  • @mrbattlenet Prove ur facts.

  • @faceprecious Its in the bible... They state the day and hour clear as crystal in lukes gospel

  • The religion of atheism once again shows how they have such a hatred of people with faith. They have such an intolerance of other peoples beliefs and cultures.

I know people who just do not believe in God, and they do not have this hatred that these freedom from religion people have. I honestly believe that the reason for their fear is that inside they have a genuine belief in God, and fear what is going to happen to them. Its the only explanation for this type of behavior.

  • Schulz had to fight to keep this scene in. Even in 1965 saying that there is a Christ in Christmas would be controversial. Can't we all just leave each other alone?

  • linus is a geneous

  • fuck chrismass! I'ma be eating and drinking till my stumaches hurt! Atheism for the win!

  • @TurkishHegemony Good for you, if you're so happy with that, what are you doing here?? :)

  • @TurkishHegemony Tell me that in the morning.....

  • Hallelujah! Charles Schultz tells it like it is! Praise God for sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to save us from our iniquities! Glory to God in the highest! :D

  • Every year I come here to watch this, just beatiful.

  • I saw newer charlie brown and it just bothers me. Their voices are not right

  • @A2Z83 Oh my goodness, I know! It's really annoying. You just can't beat the classics. :)

  • I cant believe they made a new one! >.< Praise God!!

  • There is nothing like Charlie Brown flooding me with good memories and feeling the christmas sprit!

  • I remember watching this as a child decades ago and the Christian message was always emphasized in the mainstream Christmas shows; not so much now :(

  • @HumanistDad:

It seems to me that they've explained it to you in a way even a child could understand, but in you're heart all you want to be is humanist, and that is all. I hope you had a Merry Christmas.

  • I have a hallmark Linus plush dressed as a Shepard

  • Unbelievable and Definetly the real Reason for the Season. God Bless one and All!

  • this is beautiful

  • this is beautiful

  • this is beautiful

  • this is beautiful

  • @doublezz11 that is really sweet. my mum and i love charlie brown!

  • Yes, Jesus is the true comforter. Merry Christmas to all on this joyous day.

  • Notice that Linus drops his security blanket when he talks about Jesus. Jesus is the comforter.

  • I only just found out Chris Shea (Linus) died a couple of years ago. At 52! So I signed his memory book (it's online). He had the cutest voice ever.

  • Forever the greatest Christmas special simply because of this one heart-warming scene.

  • This is the best Christmas show ever - and how cool is Linus.....even as a child I enjoyed his telling, and now it has such a special place in my heart. Teach your children well. Merry Christmas - peace on earth, good will toward men.

  • @SteveHoweFan

    Well Said, my freind.

    Merry Christmas to you.

  • peace on earth and good will toward men

  • stop arguing religion. merry christmas everyone!

  • Praise the Lord!

  • Thank you Linus for being bold and telling everyone what the true meaning of Christmas is :)

  • @MinyBoy5

it is the worship of the savior...mythra.

  • Charlie Brown was frustrated with all the commercialism Christmas was (and still is) and was struggling to find any sense of joy from the holiday as it can sometimes get lost or buried. Once Linus reminded him of what Christmas truly is, Charlie was able to feel happy and all the other stuff going on seemed insignificant. Christmas is about giving and Linus gave Charlie Brown and invaluable gift that he needed at the moment. I'm a Christian and this passage of scripture is invaluable to me too.

  • Forever my favorite telling of the Christmas story. You tell 'em Linus. :)

  • Thumbs up if you remember watching this as a kid with all those York Pepermint Pattie commercials! Damn I miss those days.

  • Happy Birthday Jesus; thank you for everyday, every breath, every fortune, and misfortune that has shaped me into the person today.-Amen

  • LIGHTS PLEASE!

  • Why are Americans so ignorant of meaning beyond their love of self and projection onto everyone and everything?

  • From Luke chapter 2 verses 6-14. Schultz was a Christian, and he meant what he meant, no matter how anyone else feels (God save us from Americans' petty feelings).

  • Christmas -- sorry -- no it is NOT a co-opted pagan holiday. It might be co-opted but it is NOT a pagan holiday. The bishops of the church purposely chose to blot out the pagan holiday for the Christian faithful. Revisionist history is repressive. Americans think that they get to pick and choose what things mean based on their inane, petty, childish feelings. How's that for tolerance? Christmas means men are in need of a Savior. It does not mean what you want it to mean. That is narcissistic.

  • Wishing everyone peace and love, tolerance and compassion, sympathy and empathy, and joy. May the deity 'of your choosing' :) bless you all.

  • I always get tears in my eyes when watching this. :)

  • my favorite Christmas moment ever. Merry Christmas ♥♥♥

  • Those satanic globalists at CBS wanted to cut this part from the show but Mr. Schulz resisted their evil scheme.

  • I love how Linus drops his security blanket when he says "Fear not!"

  • One...Christmas is NOT the Birth Date of Jesus Christ. December was the Date of an Annual Pagan Festival usually described as a Drunken Orgy. The date was hijacked by some early ancient Christmas as the date to celebrate the birth of Jesus. It's another lie told and perpetuated by the Church. It's very cold in that part of the world and shepards would not have been out. No one know when Jesus was born..but we are just thankful that he was.

  • The true meaning of Christmas! 💙🙏

  • @scottacek , Then may I ask why you viewed this video? I do not mind your own opinion one bit but when it disrespects others is when it's a problem. Respect the believers even though you aren't one.

  • This special a couple years ago literally saved Christmas for me. I had grown to hate this time of year, the commercialism of this time, families arguing, it ate at the joy I had always felt as a kid. I just wanted Christmas to go away. But Linus and Charlie Brown reminded me the true meaning we celebrate this day, with this very speech, and for that I'm forever grateful. Merry Christmas everyone, and Happy New Year.

  • @doublezz11 Me too. I've loved it since I was little. The cool jazz in the background doesn't hurt either. Peace Peter G

  • Dislike = Fucking moron !!!

  • my christmas tweet

  • HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all!!!!

  • Let's remember the reason for the season! Merry Christmas Everyone!

  • This is why i love this special

  • Protest political correctness, critical theory and cultural marxism!

    Say, "Merry Christmas!"

  • @coxg90 Does it really matter? Christmas is officially a secular holiday (at least in the U.S.), so you can say Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas.

  • cool:) inChrist allways fat billpage illusionist magician in fun

  • great love it

  • My favorite part! You keep telling Linus maybe someone who needs it will hear you :)

  • No, Linus, Christmas is a commercial today. (it's run by a big eastern syndicate, you know)

  • the reason its called "Christmas" is because someone wanted to celebrate the birth of Jesus to get rid of the pagan winter Solstice celebration. Both are fine celebrations, mix and match and boom - Christmas. Obviously the idea didn't work the way it was intended, we still have evergreens, elfs, white lights, trumpets, gift exchanges...but so what, that's how things happen. I'm a Christian, and I can tell you how many times it says Christmas in the bible. ZERO

  • @destructo71 And guess how many times it says easter? zero. I guess it's ridiculous for Christians to celebrate that holiday too. Or we could all just decide to throw aside our issues and enjoy this time of year like we are intended to. Sharing goodwill towards your fellow man and not getting offended by anyone who disagrees with you.

    Merry Christmas everyone :)

  • Both sides of the argument below are ridiculous. Christmas is a co-opted pagan holiday, sure. It has meaning for Christians, but also it can have meaning for everybody. Linus would want you to all get along. Beautiful clip, amazing moment in TV.

  • You know, if you don't like the religious aspect of the holiday, you don't HAVE to watch this video. You could have very easily watched a clip from How the Grinch Stole Christmas or something like that. For us Christians, it's the Nativity of our Lord, and if you're not comfortable with that, don't celebrate it. But don't get mad when the simple majority in a democratic republic decide they want to keep it Christmas.

  • 154 people don't know what Christmas is all about.

  • Why don't they just title it a Christian Christmas?

  • @Postan1 That comment is ignorant on so many levels. I will spell out the simplest for you... "Christ"mas -- "Christ"ian. DUH!!!!!

  • @amycatc let me spel it out total myth made up story-mass

  • @Postan1 Same reason why there's no "Jewish Hanukkah", or "Muslim Ramadan", or "African Kwanzaa", etc.

  • 153 "politically correct" viewers disliked this

  • I recall one year they rated this TV-PG, almost definitely because of this scene. Thankfully, this year it was rated TV-G.

  • Its no big deal, saying happy holidays. you can say both.

  • HAPPY HOLIDAYS: CHARLIE BROWN

  • God bless us all

  • Where in the Bible does it say Jesus was born on December 25?

  • @HumanistDad Just leave it alone and enjoy. Why stir things up you twat!

  • @coolsax64 Presumably you don't know where the Bible says it, either?

  • @HumanistDad It doesn't, but the date is somewhat arbitrary. What is important is what Christians believe happened, not precisely when.

  • @grommet101 If they don't know when it happened, then what right do they have to declare the true meaning of December 25 as the birth of Jesus?

  • @HumanistDad TO STEAL PAGAN HOLIDAYS; DU

  • @HumanistDad Christmas celebrates the birth of jesus, isn't a marker of the exact date. I was sure this video would get a comment like this.

  • @epanecka If you are correct, they why do Christians get so worked up when other people treat Christmas as a day that has nothing to do with Jesus? Seems to me that July 17 is as good a day to celebrate the birth of the likely mythical Jesus as any other...

But it does bring about an interesting question to ponder. If the story of Jesus is so important, why, oh why, would the writers forget an important detail like the date?

  • @HumanistDad Simply put,the Bible is and never was about math equations and or dates. 70 times 7 thousand is not about a specific numerical outcome. Alas,it is about how one should always forgive no matter the circumstances. Jesus spoke in parables, and without a parable He did not speak. This not to confront or contest anybody. Not my style. James

  • @maonofsorrows777 But it is my style to not let claims go unchallenged. The Bible is not about forgiveness; it is about the unquestioning obedience to authority (especially the Old Testament). You may believe that the New Testament is an improvement about peace, love and forgiveness, but it is here where we learn about the worst punishment of all to non-obedience - everlasting Hell.

  • @HumanistDad "The style of fighting without fighting" Bruce Lee *I don't believe in the Catholic ideology of everlasting hell. I do however, believe that hell is the state of non-existence or annihilation. Seperation from God eternally. Bruce Lee had it right. Peace

  • @HumanistDad "One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord." - Romans 14:5-6. The day we Christians choose to observe the birth of Jesus had more to do with Saturnalia and other solstice feasts than history. I don't think it matters much when it is observed, but it does help as a Christian to see fellowship and overall goodwill.

  • @HumanistDad

The date is unimportant.... you are not focusing on the important details. But maybe that is why you are a humanist.... if we are all we've got... we're screwed... Thank God for sending Jesus to save us!!!

  • @hockey6108 Thank 'god' for sending Jesus to save us from a world this 'god' created??? Pathetic plan, I must say.

  • I love this- it's my favorite scene in the show. And, it is the start of the Christmas season for me. This is what Christmas is all about!!!

  • That's from the Holy scripture:

    Luke 2:8-14 KJV

  • Thats what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

  • A M E N ! ! ! Merry CHRISTmas!

  • If I was Christian, I would say that Jesus and his teachings was the greatest gift of all. The best gift I could give anyone would be to live each day under his message of peace, love and charity....But I ain't Christian. Just sayin :P

  • @ebarnes863 Then maybe you should change?

  • NOW DAYS, CHARLIE BROWN AND THE WHOLE PEANUT GANG HAVE TURNED, " POLITICALLY CORRECT!" JUST TAKE A LOOK IN THE STORE, WHERE YOU SEE SNOOPY, CAHRLIE BROWN, LUCY, OR LINUS! THEIR CAPTIONS ALL SEEM TO GO WITH THE TIMES OF TODAY! THEY HAVE CORRUPTED, WHAT WAS ONCE A CARTOON THAT HAD SOME GOOD MORALS! I GUESS I WOULD HAVE CHARLIE BROWN ASKING, " ISN'T THERE ANYONE HERE, THAT CAN TELL ME WHAT GOOD MORALS ARE ALL ABOUT?!

  • Hail Satan!!!!

  • you know what i hate... you get excited for Christmas and you have those that put you out of the Christmas spirit and talk about all the downs. there like oh you don't deserve those gifts. your selfish. how the hell am i selfish if someone gives me a gift???? you would be selfish not to receive it. and all there work of geting that gift would be crushed... its a time of giving...

  • I always seem to tear up a lil during this scene as we all seem to forget while we are busy ordering the newest ipad.

  • I'm an atheist and I love this video. It's very endearing, and earnest. Two things I don't see in many of the Christians commenting on this video.

  • 153 people are Atheists.

  • @Beartallica86 I'm an atheist and like this video.

  • MBig

  • you know it's been a long time since I was a kid but when I watched this on the two channels we had I looked forward to christmas I don't think kids realize anymore what christmas is thier parents are too busy worrying about how they are suppost to act or on drugs or they don't even care at all? it feels like the year without a santa clause!

  • Thumbs Up if you say "Merry Christmas" and not "Happy Holidays"

  • @chroylikesfish I like how this sort of a response to the other top comment.

  • @chroylikesfish That tern is politically incorrect sir.

  • @jackram2h2

believe me I KNOW and i dont give 2 shits about being politically incorrect. USA has gone mad with this whole politically correct statement. I will say Merry Christmas whenever i want, ill say what i want to say, WHITE PEOPLE ARENT AS RACIST AS MOST BLACK PEOPLE! ill pray and respect my God and Lord Jesus Christ in public and wherever i please.

The US goverment should not be trusted

  • @chroylikesfish I hear you my friend. People get offended so easily these days. I honestly have a lot of respect for anyone who isn't afraid to stand up for what they believe in, though nobody should really be afraid to show what they believe in the first place. Ah how society has changed....

  • @chroylikesfish thumbz up if u a faggot. yea you is. pssh ~~~*~*smmfh~***~*~~*

  • @chroylikesfish Yes. Not to mention "Seasons Greetings"

  • @tl1358

haha the other day i was watching something on ABC family where they were trying to rename Christmas "Winter Treasure Day" LIKE REALLY!!!! that made me so mad

  • @chroylikesfish Political correctness is idiocy. I one worked at a company where we could not celebrate Thanksgiving. But, "Fall Harvest" was perfectly acceptable.

  • @chroylikesfish not because of Christ or religion, though

  • Wow, that was amazing.... I love Christmas, I love Charlie Brown, and I love my Lord Jesus.1 day till Christmas!!!

  • Like this clip and I also like Christmas Eve and Santa Claus and Christmas trees and presents and snow falling and being with family and friends... and I bet Linus does too. and Charlie brown and Snoopy and Woodstock.

  • I see this video every year at Christmas time :)

  • Lights please

  • @wei495 how would you actually know without talking first hand to him? Maybe christmas really is his birthday?

  • @Madelyn525 It's not his birthday. It's the celebration of his birthday. He was actually born in springtime. His birthday is celebrated on Christmas because there were way too many pagan celebrations in spring.

  • I can't believe Network TV hasn't cut this out by now with the way they give in to vilifying anything religious at this point.

  • @WanderlustX2 The day they cut this scene out is the day I lose all hope for humanity.

  • So sweet so beautiful... and with the wonderful Christopher Shea's voice as Linus.

  • only 3 days till christmas yay :-)

  • Merry Christmas! :)

  • No words. Charles Schultz was an amazing man.

Merry Christmas, everyone. God bless <3

  • I vote Linus for President, he can hit a can with his blanket, and he puts his blanket down during speeches, that's all we need for a good president lol

  • Merry CHRISTmas! :)

  • @blacksheepgirl Merry CHRISTmas to you too!

  • Praise God!!!!

  • So good. Always part of my Christmas.

    Brian

    WHY

  • ...

And that's the true meaning of Chinese New Year. (only Penguins of Madagascar fans will probably get this...)

  • @RespectNOAuthority1 When it applies to Christmas, yes. But that's of little use to a Hanukkah-observing Jew or someone wishes only to celebrate the solstice.

  • @tapkae That's why it's called "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown".

  • Comment removed

  • It gets so busy around Christmas, and so expensive. Sometimes I forget what it means to celebrate this magical season. Watching the Charlie Brown special takes me back to my youth and peels away some of the complications of adulthood that clutter my feelings about Christmas. When the time comes for Linus' recital I get choked up every time. It reminds me to relax and simply enjoy this time. "For behold! I bring you tidings of great Joy!" Merry Christmas everyone.

  • You know, it seems like as the season draws near more and more people seem to lose track of the spirit of the holidays. That's when I watch this, and I'm reminded of what's important in life. Peace, not Presents. Love, not Lights. Thank god we have people who haven't lost sight of that, and they have the good sense to remind us in ways such as this, and for that I say thank you.

  • @loadedjogger God Bless Charles Shultz he had to fight to get this scene in-we who grew up with it get chills everytime we hear it again

  • @dotsyjmaher Exactly. I've wondered about how this got let onto the public airwaves. Glad it did. The season doesn't start for me without this sweet little story that makes me laugh and cry without fail.

  • this is the only time that Linus has ever dropped his comfort blanket

  • Thumbs up if you watch Charlie Brown every Christmas! :D

For more Christmas fun search "The Regulars Band 2011 Christmas."

    Happy Holidays Everyone!

  • @theregsband Merry Christmas to you too my friend!

  • Thank GOD for Linus! :o)

  • 146 people don't understand what Christmas is all about.

  • How can anyone dislike this?

  • why is it i can't watch this without getting a tear in my eye?

  • Thank you for posting this! I have watched this video every year since I was 7 yrs. old in 1965. This scene is my favorite! Merry Christmas to one and all!

  • In our 5th grade Christmas show (a million years ago) I read this passage on stage like that! It's still one of the highlights of my life and such a beautiful passage! Happy memories!
