  • Love this guitar solo. That is the kind of playing that I like to hear , but usually only do on movies about the 60s and never in real bands. Few can play that cool. I have a feeling this band would have done much better if they ditched the violin. It is fine here , but I noticed on other songs it is almost dominating. BTW you can hardly hear the guitar solo on this mix it is a shame. I have a better mix on an old Beat Club VHS tape from the 80s.

  • how can anyone not like this!

  • Hey jad! Can u make the song "arthur park" available on iphone again!

Thank you for putting this wonderful story on the Web!

    Love.

  • I stumbled into one of their concerts while going through Atlanta about 1970, I had never heard of them and decided to drop in and listen. It was in Atlanta stadium as I remember - what an enjoyable afternoon.

  • Fantastic. The best edition of IABD. I saw them in the summer of 1970, about the time this was filmed, at the Santa Monica Civic. (When I was just a boy!)

Too bad they were so short-lived. Hal and Mitchell were already gone by the time of the Fillmore Closing film the next year.

Saw them at a small club in North Beach in 98 with Hal (guitar) and Mitchell (bass) back in the fold. Excellent performance with 4 of the original 6 members. Any more video from this period?

  • Wow i found it This tune Rules!!!!!!!!!

  • rola chingona....

  • I' m so proud to know this band and to be so few people since 40 years.

  • Timeless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh my, coiled guitar cord, tiny drum kit, old school mics and organ...

For a moment I thought that I had fallen through a rip in the space-time continuum and landed back in Height-Ashbury as a kid...

    Peace

    ADT

  • @amourdutigre nice gretsch country club guitar my friend has one i have a 7 string

  • There are so few good videos of the lovely Patti Santos but this one comes close to being the best. RIP Patti. IABD was an incredible band

  • I have 6-8 vinyl LP's I have carried from the 60's. One of them is Marrying Maiden. We all know why. Is it available on CD? Thanks

  • Are'nt no other; David and Linda LaFlamme.

  • In 1970 they were one of my favourites. It was then obvious that they were more talented than most on the rock scene, but probably had their own lives and wants to live.

  • I've been a big fan since the 60s and saw them live at my high school (the year after I graduated) when they did a double bill with Stoneground. The high school used the boys' wrestling room for the "green room" and I ran into Patti Santos at the drinking fountain.

  • Really thought that 'Marrying Maiden' was the Best Album Its a Beautiful Day put out, and Soapstone Mountain is one of the best cuts off that masterpiece...nice live performance!

  • JG300Ascout --

The woman sining in this video is not "Patte LaFlamme" -- it's Patty Santos -- and she was seriously hot, and she did die tragically in a car crash in the 90's.

  • David LaFlamme is a genius. i was born to late.

but i wil never give upp on getting those days back. one day i will be butt naked and rock my balls off to selebration off great music and the love we share! you gott my blessings for posting! love and peece Alex

  • Patty was so hot! RIP.

  • Bought thier 1ST LP when I was 15 and didnt know what to think of this band. Needless to say they were lite years ahead of me!!!!!!!!!

  • Saw them in '72 or '73 in Louisville, KY. Great venue, some sort of municipal auditorium with great acoustics. Tremendous performance

Patte LaFlamme was seriously hot, think she died in tragic auto accident or something.

  • nothing was a trippy as IABD. I used to listen to the album to take me to another dimension.

  • Jadtube: IABD is (NOT "was") better than ever. Just saw a great, great show in Corvallis (including this tune and a perfect rendition of Don & Dewey) and hardly anyone else was there!

One of the very best concerts I've ever attended, and nearly 40 years after I purchased one of their first albums. Their live 2005 CD from Seattle is excellent -- people should be supporting this music while there is still a chance to do so!

  • Thank you, thank you JADTUBE. The quality of the video is excellent and of course La Flamme and IABD were stunning.

  • THANK YOU for posting this super rare video. This song is from their 2nd LP Marrying Maiden and is one of their most creative endeavors. Rare to see David playing guitar. Val Fuentes is still on drums and tours with them. What a great band and a great video of IABD in their prime. Patti is so beautiful.

Hal Wagenet is on guitar,Mitch Holman on bass and Fred Webb Thanks for posting this rare clip!

  • This is really neat!

  • Really amazing..... I am too young to have seen them (and living too far away!), but this video is really cool, they can ROCK! Their first two LPs are mega-classics, I love them!

  • Unbelievebly thats my uncle thanx for posting too always like to here him play...

  • I saw his band almost by chance in 1978, they had just released a great record under his name on Amherst Records...I was studying classical music in college, I had no idea who he was, but his performance was great, I've been a fan since then. He's a great songwriter, has an intangible good vibe in concert...

  • Awesome! This was 1 of the greatest Bands of the 60's.U r right,so few, know it ,it is a shame.I remember it well.I was raised on this music.Peace to you & yours for the upload man!
