@Flatzout i Guess your right cause down here in texas bass love it and they dont really like the stanley ribbit i have both and i catch more on the zoom horny toad
@Flatzout no you dont fish them like a buzzbait let them sink then do a stop and go return ive caught numerous bass like that do it an i promise you will come back with reasults
@Flatzout, like fishing anytime sometimes "just ain't the time". fish them like a buzz bait, reel them in as slow as you can while keeping them on top of the water.
@AcSlayer10 I do that but it also works well if you let them sit on the bottom for a second, swim them maybe ten feet, sit it back down. Or sometimes i'll crank it like you said slow on top for about four seconds, let it drop for three seconds (3ft apprx.) then back to the top. Just saying how I do it. Love them
no twitching needed, just reel only as fast as you need to to keep it on top of the water. SLOWER THE BETTER. I have the rod tip in the air to give myself a better chance at missed bass. This gives the bass a chance to get the toad in their mouth. When you see and/or feel the strike reel in slack while pointing tip down, I call this reeling down. THEN SET THE HOOK.
@MrRancherriderbig420 frog baits are notoriously hard to get sets on. You'll get better at it. Go to basspro.com and get some horny toad hooks. The are great.
MOst common mistake is pulling the toad out of the bass mouth which is caused by seeing the strike and setting the hook before you feel it. Thats why I "REEL DOWN". The extra second or 2 lets the bass "get it". Hope I helped.
they cant handle the yellow swirl horny toad...

how do you keep the frogs on top of the water
MrRancherriderbig420 2 years ago
reel as soon as they hit the water then reel only fast enough to keep them on top. Holding the rod tip at the 10 or 11 o'clock position helps.

actually it's a quantum accurist
AcSlayer10 3 years ago
ah..Now that you said that i can tell its not the viento. No twitchin bar and the vientos a little bit of a different color and bigger
brooklynmeatslapper 3 years ago
No, it's a Quantum Accurist. I have 5 of them. You can actually tell by the reel handle and the flippin switch on the side of the reel.
