go get a xbox360 arcade package.. when you get home call the store up and tell them the power cord is defective (they are all loose). pop the hard drive off of yours and take it back instead of the one you just bought, they wont think to look to see if it has a hdmi
wow ur xbox is really screwed, i have one that makes a kinda grining sound but works perfecttly. just call microsoft and ask for a repair or a new 360

mine dose'nt open when its upright but i don't like to put it on its side becuz it could over heat
