Agree with priozola. This is an excellent way to document a machine which is flipping your choice from your candidate to the opposition candidate. All votes should be invalidated on a machine like this after proof is provided - and a video is proof. This is not paranoia folks - some early voters have already reported this problem with certain machines, and the poll workers didn't know how to fix it. This way the machine would have to be closed down.

Some electronic voting machines have been known to automatically select Republicans when voters wanted Democrats; as well, as with what happened in Florida, the ballots were confusing enough to make people who wanted Gore unwittingly vote for Pat Buchanan. It could give voters peace of mind during the process or provide proof of errors.
While there may be some faulty electronic voting machines, the confusion caused by that ballot in Florida was in no way caused by Republicans. The butterfly style ballot (which is not supposed to be permitted in Florida it turned out) was approved by a committee of Democrat officials. As a side note, I've seen that 'confusing' ballot, and if someone was confused by it, they probably had no business voting in the first place.
People video there vote because their has been cases of votes being flipped to another candidate by polling machines. It doesn't help the fact that many states don't have paper ballots and therefore no paper trail for how people actually voted and that the main company (Diebold) that has gotten the call to register many of these votes on their machine is a major Republican contributor. Never underestimate the GOP's ability to steal an election.

The point of doing the whole "Video Your Vote" thing is to do your part in saying you want the voting process more transparent. It is also a way to potentially verify that they had the right results. Dear TheAranan: There's a lot of harrassment going down at US voting sights and people have been illegally denied their right to vote. The mere prescence of a camera discourages criminals from denying voters' rights to cast their ballots. Google "Jeb Bush felon list" if you'd like to know what REALLY happened in 2000.

In Italy it's forbidden to enter the booth with a cell-phone or any recording-device. This way fewer people should try to buy your vote, as you can't prove who you voted for. (and you avoid having people write stupid things on the ballot-paper and filming it...)

I love America. People still go through the whole "you need to vote, it is your duty, your vote matters" cherade. This is despite the fact that the last 2 presidential elections were 100% fraudulent. Congress is pretty much worthless as well!

Alot of people have claimed their vote was no counted in their district when they saw the results. it said (0) in some district when there were voters that did it.
Google "voting fraud in new hampshire" - this reached international news however was not reported domestically hehe i wonder why...

That is one option, but it may be for other reasons. Some electronic voting machines have been known to automatically select Republicans when voters wanted Democrats; as well, as with what happened in Florida, the ballots were confusing enough to make people who wanted Gore unwittingly vote for Pat Buchanan. It could give voters peace of mind during the process or provide proof of errors.

While there may be some faulty electronic voting machines, the confusion caused by that ballot in Florida was in no way caused by Republicans. The butterfly style ballot (which is not supposed to be permitted in Florida it turned out) was approved by a committee of Democrat officials. As a side note, I've seen that 'confusing' ballot, and if someone was confused by it, they probably had no business voting in the first place.

People video there vote because their has been cases of votes being flipped to another candidate by polling machines. It doesn't help the fact that many states don't have paper ballots and therefore no paper trail for how people actually voted and that the main company (Diebold) that has gotten the call to register many of these votes on their machine is a major Republican contributor. Never underestimate the GOP's ability to steal an election.

The ACORN problem doesn't mean anything dude. All ACORN does encourage new people to vote and to do that, they ask for people to go out in the community and get people to register and they'll let anyone do it. ACORN will compensate people for turning in registration forms. So some lazy stupid people just started making up fake voters to get paid more. Thats all. IT SOESNT MATTER! The point of doing the whole "Video Your Vote" thing is to do your part in saying you want the voting process more transparent. It is also a way to potentially verify that they had the right results. Unfortunately, they've made new rules so your vote won't register if you vote for "Daffy Duck", so it's rare to vote for yourself these days.
Unfortunately, since Ron Paul dropped out we're going to have a lot of wasted ballots. His ballots are going to be tallied in private, counted, then burned.
