@diablo6211 Yes, but the mustang also has a roll cage. They are quite expensive and take a good deal of work to put in a car so I feel that the mustang had the power. It looks like he didn't get traction as he was running thru the gears. Bad run for the mustang.

God damn look at that Cobra jump. Sure, 4 cylinders can run a V8 if properly modified, but V8's have more power. For obvious reasons. And frankly I would rather have 600 horses in a meaner looking, and sounding Cobra. If the Cobra hadn't slipped up halfway down the .25, the difference wouldn't have been that huge. CRX still would have won though I have to say.
@mrSanxable the error was that it was a vert... had it been a coupe the mustang would have run more strait with less flex due to the more rigid coupe chassis. not saying it would have won but it would have been a much more competitive race

It isn't very impressive. Well, I guess from the standpoint of it being a STOCK HONDA it's a masterpiece. A car that weighs 2,900 lbs and has 290 horsepower at the flywheel is going to be decently fast, but no race car.

God damn look at that Cobra jump. Sure, 4 cylinders can run a V8 if properly modified, but V8's have more power. For obvious reasons. And frankly I would rather have 600 horses in a meaner looking, and sounding Cobra. If the Cobra hadn't slipped up halfway down the .25, the difference wouldn't have been that huge. CRX still would have won though I have to say.

@mrSanxable the error was that it was a vert... had it been a coupe the mustang would have run more strait with less flex due to the more rigid coupe chassis. not saying it would have won but it would have been a much more competitive race

@SmallBlockMania go talk to someone who owns a stock 98 Integra type R or a Prelude si 4ws or an S2k. Cobra owners are proud of their cars because they own the top of the line for the car, I'm sure more Cobra owners are proud of their stock car than stock v6 mustang owners are, same goes with hondas. More people are happy with a stock ITR's performance than a stock civic DX sedan

@jus34 Actually no. Even the latest model(2005) NSX only produced 290 horsepower. The NSX is indeed a rare sports car but that does not mean that it is some kind of supercar. It isn't very impressive. Well, I guess from the standpoint of it being a STOCK HONDA it's a masterpiece. A car that weighs 2,900 lbs and has 290 horsepower at the flywheel is going to be decently fast, but no race car.

ok well if you pay close attention the mustang was pushing so hard that it appeared to be sliding all over the place and couldnt get traction and appeared to have just slowed down mid way through the race. i dont care what you ricer lovers say. V8's will always be better. the money you have to dump in a 4 banger to make it as fast as a stock V8 is like 5 grand or more. V8 vs 4 cylinders. do the math.
