  • great stuff

  • miss match indeed ...yet always twirling .....TWIRLING ....twirling towards freedom ..

  • biutiful! no lo había visto nunca, que bonito!

  • wtf..this is so out of rythm it doesn't make sense anymore....sometimes it can be cool, but this is rubbish...and, for those who'd say why am i listening then, I am not. I stopped to write this at 0.44 and will go on to another version. :)

  • @clairens Well - they're from france, and an alternative band,so I don't see how you'd expect them to do a *fab* job of a bossa song either way. It seems pretty mismatched to me...but no bother.

  • That is not Herbie Mann.

  • @fortrevoryoung Herbie Mann played in the track, he's just not in the video, where he was replaced by the goofy guy in a mexican (?) hat - whose performance btw suits well the "tropical irony" take of both the video and the arrangements. this version was recorded for the 1996 collective album Red+Hot+Rio - which btw featured Tom Jobim himself in another track ("How insensitive", sang with Sting).

  • i never knew there was a video for this!!! just awesome.

  • wow great collabo never knew this existed

  • freakiin' GREAT!!

  • oMG they ruin the song .

  • Am I weird for loving this? Cause i do :D

  • Excelente. Uma raridade!!

  • Jesus Christ how could I just find out that Herbie once collaborated with Stereolab?

anyway, really love the tune, as always :)

  • This group is such a breath of fresh air

  • I love this clip. Really cool. The flute player is ok. Not Herbie Mann but that is totally fine. He works it.

  • This clip can be found on the CD "Red Hot + Rio" - put together around 1996 for the Red Hot Foundation, combating AIDS. There is a video to accompany the CD, but I cannot find it anywhere. The whole CD is covers of great Brazilian music. The kicker on it for me is George Michael and Astrud Gilberto doing "Desafinado" - it'll stop you dead in your tracks.

  • Grammy Award for being very cute.

  • Yes, most definitely not Herbie Mann. This guy is far too young, less adept, and much more amateurish than Mann

  • Stereolab rule!

  • where is this video from? thanks for posting it!

  • Which one of the members passed away a few years ago?

  • Mary Hanson with the tamborine

  • Mary Hansen died, but she is playing the guitar in this clip

  • Then of course she switches to tambourine! wierd

  • one note my ass

  • LOL

  • I always feel like I'm on holiday when I listen to stereolab- Herbie sounds great -another favorite thanks for posting

  • Is that Tim "playing" the flute? Def not Herbie Mann!
