  • I.. I love you Elton John.

  • I lived this song . So it hits home for me.

  • Country rock? Gospel rock? Altri tempi...

  • We've moved on six miles from where we were yesterday

And yesterday is but a long long ways away

So we'll camp out tonight beneath the bright starlight

And forget rotten peaches and the places we've stayed

Mercy I'm a criminal, Jesus, I'm the one

Rotten peaches rotting in the sun

  • Best album was "Songs From the West Coast" from 2001. If you're unfamiliar with it, give it a listen and you'll at least agree with me it stands up to "Madman" and "Tumbleweed" quite well.

  • after captain fantastic and the brown dirt cowboys i didnt like much stuff he did

  • this album and yellow brick road are my fav albums from elton john

  • I've played this album so much lately that my 3 1/2 year old daughter can sing with the whole thing

  • @skotrock your daughter for President!!!

  • almost tie with Tumbleweed Connection as the best EJ album ever

  • Madman across the Water album best he ever did

  • *passes a joint to a rotten peach*

  • why are you complaining about drugs? did you just quit cause of some problem?

If you don't like the stuff just go on with yourself. Do you need a doctor?

  • ROTTEN PEOPLE.... IF'N YOU DON'T LIKE THIS SONG.....

  • This song was easily my favorite of this album - and that's not said lightly, as every song on this album was fucking in-cred-i-ble.

  • Best Elton John album by far.

  • Why this song wasn't a hit, I'll never know. Love it!

  • Elton's new album The Union, with Leon Russell, is excellent!

  • Elton John and Bernie Taupin are both GENIUS' and always will be. Their songs will still sound good a hundred years from now. What else matters?

  • this man has pure talent, drugs has nothing to do with it, ELTON JOHN IS GREAT AND ALWAYS WILL BE. HIS VOICE , HIS PIANO SINGS TO YOU, IT GRABS YOUR HEART AND SOUL, HIS LYRICS, MY GOD WHAT MORE CAN U SAY, ONE OF THE GREAT ONES :) HE IS ALSO MAN ENOUGH TO ACKNOWLEDGE OTHER GREAT PEOPLE, LIKE HIS SONG WITH JOHN LENNON, PRINCESS DIANA, THOSE WHO ARE AMONG US WHO HAVE OUR OWN STONES THROW THE FIRST ONE AGAINST YOUR OWN GLASS HOUSE.

  • @MsKathleen54 i want to smoke a joint with you

  • This is one of my favorite Elton John songs, too, if not THE favorite.

  • This is my least favorite Elton John song, but I still love it, that shows how amazing he is.

  • ah yeah!

  • There ain't no green grass in the US state prison...

  • I wish he kept the La La La La part an extra minute longer on the track.

  • Mad Man and Tumbleweed were so perfect.

  • @AUS10TEX , Madman, Tumbleweed, Honky Chateau and Don't shoot me were all great albums.....Elton and Bernie hit a bases loaded home run with those four

  • Una de les meves cançons favorites!

  • 40 anys, i encara sona com el primer día.

  • The soundtrack of my youth. WOW.

  • man, this sounds good!

  • I work in the state prison and man this is one song that really hits home

  • And forget rotten peaches and the places we've stayed!

  • I think I could listen to Elton for 24 hours straight

  • Me too agreed completely

  • @longuylandboy ...done it!

  • @longuylandboy Seven days a week, brother.

  • I love him, even if he did sell himself out in vegas with the red piano show,,, ( hated that)... but LOVE the old stuff and the old elton...nothing like it. He and Bernie were magic.

  • Who cares if Elton took drugs? Judge a musician on his music.

    Simple as that.

  • @PeteGeeza86 they all take drugs bro

  • @PeteGeeza86 Simple, yes, but few things are as difficult as standing up for your ideas and beliefs and where music has generated such an enormous number of cliques following a particular genre, I am especially happy to see that so many young'ns are listening to pretty much EVERYTHING, regardless of the artists' proclivities.

Remember that, the next time someone curls their lip when you listen to Michael Jackson or Tiny Tim, two consummate musicians who were often ridiculed....

  • Fantastic! Thanks for the post!

    DON'T TAKE TAMIFLU!

  • How wonderful to see the Madman album finally posted! This was Elton at his best, before he went glitter. Many thanks.

  • agreed although i think he was doing drugs at this point =P

claims he got clean in the '90's

  • I think he didn't take drugs in 1971.... think he started at about 1975 or 76 to take cocain...

  • Rotten Peaches, Rottin' in the sun........

  • Seems I seen the devil fruit since the world begun

  • congratulations you're both idiots.

  • No, it goes, "Mercy, I'm a criminal. Jesus, I'm the one."

But thanks for gracing us with your commentary anyway, lol. :)

  • You're still an idiot.

  • You're the only one who looks like a dumb shit.
