@tantzer splitting split hairs. ok, fine, it would take half a second. engines produce whole lines too, if his opponent played the natural move after his engine move, he would already know what the engine would want to do, maybe wouldn't even have to look. I know it may be hard to believe, but some people are very very adept in terms of cheating with engines, and it's very possible they could make the moves within fractions of a second, especially if they had a good set-up, or even a partner.
such conspiracy theories, the opponent just played better than kc in this game. it happens in 3 minute games where you dont have all the time in the world to think.
I blunder-checked to see how much he was cheating. This guy was consulting with Houdini with his computer, Rybka on his netbook, Pocket Fritz on his iPod touch and Garry Kasparov's mom on the phone.
In a forty move game, only two of his moves were not within 30 centi-pawns of Houdini's top choice (moves 22 and 28). Even those two moves were within the top four Houdini moves.
@mavaddat garry kasparov's mom was an amateur chess player, she knew how the pieces moved and maybe a bit more, but I don't think she would suggest such powerful moves in this time frame. yeah people cheat all the time in online chess. with the advent of engines, cheating in chess is just everywhere it seems, some top french players were just caught using rybka or something in a fide tournament. I guess it's just really tempting. maybe they just really really need to win an online blitz game.
@Oecleus yes I know it was supposed to be humor. but it just didn't fit too well with the rest of what you were wrote, maybe instead of that it should of been something like garry kasparov's and anands baby.
lol this is not ideal :)

okay now, on this there there´s something strange, 30 seconds on the first moves? cmmon! he cheated.
MrPazPax 10 months ago
Didn't look like he was cheating. He often moved too quickly for him to have had time to consult an engine.
tantzer 11 months ago
@tantzer it would take seconds to "consult" the engine.
pistraurder 11 months ago
@pistraurder Right, "seconds." In many cases the opponent's reaction took less than a second.

they are chess computers .... and they are low rating so people can think they dont use them //// i do this all the time on flyordie.com
inkpharaoh1992 11 months ago
IF he is cheating why is his rating 1800?
j25ack 11 months ago
KC, it is not that hard to cheat at 3 min chess, those who are cheaters cheat at any time control so what's the point of playing 3min chess?
In other words the proportion of cheaters slightly reduce with shorter time controls but not significantly...
gabe10021 11 months ago
well i engine checked it, and most of his moves were way off, i think he just got completly outplayed.

@anewfuture You do realize one player consulting with one computer does not make a "conspiracy," right?

That's such bullshit. Cheating ruins chess.

@pistraurder You know the garrys kasparov's mom thing was a joke right? No one cares about her real chess strength..

@mavaddat I knew it, what a butthole. I bet it took him 30 seconds at the start of the game to set up houdini or something.
