it's weird how technology always takes a step forward and 2 steps back... The audio/video is pretty fn' good for 1984... if you take a newer digital camera the video is pretty sharp but the audio is terrible today and can't withstand high decibels. go watch the ventures in japan from 1965 that'll blow your mind at the A/V quality.

@ottawadrummer That's because there was no such thing as digital audio recording back then. Analog audio recording has long been known to be superior (if more expensive) to digital. No clipping and distortion under overload.

It didn't stop clipping, it just had a tendency to smooth out the highs and mids...if you examine an analog soundwave vs digital soundwave you'll see why it sounds better. One is curvy and wavvy and the other is sharp and spikey.
