if you have the drake sword go to the bonfire near the parish where the merchant is directly below..nearly 1000 per grind..............in that area takes me 3 minutes and 20 seconds per grind
@tweeny69 if you want a better way go up the ladder at this bonfire pop up on the bridge and agro the dragon then run back down and you get 300 souls. drop down and repeat.

@Hellride7: to kindle a bonfire, you have to have 2 Humanity. use both of them AT THE BONFIRE (just incase you die and lost your humanity) then choose to "Reverse Hollowing', after you do that, choose to "Kindle Flame' and you will then kindle it, giving you 5 extra Estus Flasks. when you kindle a flame, it's only for that one bonfire, so choose which bonfires you want to kindle wisely.
ive grinded in this area and now im lvl 20, im going to carry on until my edurance is high enough to hold some good amour but able to move and roll quickly, im also a pyromancer
I'm a pyromancer lvl 54 an I use the reinforced club upgraded with a shield with 100 % phy resist. Once you upgrade weapons and use one with a bonus for your stat you're specializing in you'll notice that the drake sword you get becomes useless as it gives no modifier to damage. Just thought I'd share the tip if noone knew. Happy hunting

Depends really, if you suicide run/run like mad back to the bonfire from the cemetary for the sword/winged spear depending on class you will need to boost str/dex. Thus a grind this early is good if you want to equip em.

Don't know about you guys, but my enemies are placed differently here, further from the stair. Also, I get 555 souls per grind, instead of 300.

if you play a bandit you can two hand the battleaxe and one hit EVERYTHING.
which means you can get souls much faster in taht area :P

You should kindle that bonfire if you're going to suggest grinding there. Kindling a bonfire increases the estus from 5 to 10.
