yes. I do agree to what you do say. Though a lot of christians I have talked to always ends up in a debate no sooner they find out I am Pagan. Then like you said, you got friends that are christian and know you are Pagan, that same thing with me I got friends at school of all kinds of religions and they know i am a Pagan and they think I am cool. shoot I know someone who calls me a davil worshiper and still thinks im cool.
---------------to be continued-----------------------
and if you tell a christian who just ignores other religions or just ignorant and doesnt care for other religions but their own, if you tell them to look in Pagan books or look for info to know that Pagans are normal and arnt bad they will look, but not for that reason, they mainly look for things they can easily twist the words into things they want them to say from what the bible had told them idk if it is all the time, but it is all the time for me.
One of the biggest problems is monotheistic religions that have tried their best to destroy anything that doesn't comply with their way of life, Christianity & Catholicism being the biggest players. The media too doesn't help in the way they portray Witchcraft/Wicca & have to sensationalise the craft in order to sell films by belittling something that is almost as old as human civilisation itself.
It all comes down to pure ignorance. It's horrible how people try to judge something that they have no idea what it is. I did my own research on wicca and paganism because I was curious and needed a taste of something other than Christianity, and it is truly a wonderful religion. It's nothing like Satanism AT ALL. I respect Wiccans and Pagans a great deal.
its Because Most People are to Lazy to read and got there head so stuck up there Priest or Pastors Ass to learn anything it drives me crazy how people claim they have the only way and the truth its like you can't say that if you was born in the Middle east you would be saying the same about Allah , if you was born into the Jewish religion you would be saying the same about Yahweh or if you was born in India you would be saying the same about Sheeva or Krishna
People like to believe what they're told and not question it. Its a very sad thing, discrimination is perpetuated by those in power. We shouldn't expect everyone to like us, but we should have the same respect as any other belief system. Its natural to have prejudices, even pagans have them, we just choose not to act on them.
I agree, there are a lot of ignorant people out there. There is nothing we can do about it but respectfully carry on with our own beliefs. The problem is that a lot of people like pointing fingers at each other. It would've been much easier to live in this world if we could just accept one another for who we are regardless beliefs. But educating people, that Paganism/witchcraft is not evil, but it's what people make it to be is important. Blessings. xoxo
