3D programs, like Maya or Vue could paint trees for years. Finally, you can do it with a 2D program which is great. Common objects, like trees, should have an easy way to be drawn. You might not have drawn trees for years. But don't insult Flash team just because you don't use it. Some freelance designers, like myself, need to show their design ideas to clients very quickly. It is nice to have trees or some other common objects in the design. This is great for visual development process.

The tree brush was an example of the type of brushes you can make using javascript.

The tree class was custom made for that sample game, not a native class.
