Look, I followed Ron Paul VERY closely in the 2008 election, and I've been a big fan of his since at least 2004 or 2005 (long before the rest of America knew about him), but I certainly don't recall a single event of his being actually called or referred to as "the tea party." Maybe someone can link me to an old event flyer or article that ACTUALLY referred to it as this? If there WAS an "original" tea party for ron paul, it certainly didn't seem very publicized or even televised. Huh
@whoo689 The first Tea Parties were in 2008, when we had rallies dropped boxies named "IRS" "Federal Reserve", etc into oceans and rivers. Rick Santelli called for "Tea Party" in 2009. These events were organized by the Free State Project with close Ron Paul ties.
More important than the name, is the THEME. In '08 we olanned what to do if Paul lost. Goal: field our peeps at the State level and push back against the Fed. Glenn Beck's 9/12 movement is a rip off of the campaign for Liberty.

Look, I followed Ron Paul VERY closely in the 2008 election, and I've been a big fan of his since at least 2004 or 2005 (long before the rest of America knew about him), but I certainly don't recall a single event of his being actually called or referred to as "the tea party." Maybe someone can link me to an old event flyer or article that ACTUALLY referred to it as this? If there WAS an "original" tea party for ron paul, it certainly didn't seem very publicized or even televised. Huh

@whoo689 The first Tea Parties were in 2008, when we had rallies dropped boxies named "IRS" "Federal Reserve", etc into oceans and rivers. Rick Santelli called for "Tea Party" in 2009. These events were organized by the Free State Project with close Ron Paul ties.
More important than the name, is the THEME. In '08 we olanned what to do if Paul lost. Goal: field our peeps at the State level and push back against the Fed. Glenn Beck's 9/12 movement is a rip off of the campaign for Liberty.

It documents where we had moved BEYOND getting one guy elected and getting our OWN peeps elected at the grass roots level. It's written from the McCain camp's view, so it is not flattering. The GOP did not know it at the time, but that was the their first encounter with the Tea Party.

@koolchloe Actually he's a constitutionalist (he always vote based on the constitution), which means that the PEOPLE would vote to either legalize whatever or not in their own State instead of having the government decide for everyone. It's called democracy, his opinion doesn't change a thing, he's been very clear about that. His Republican side is based on fiscal conservatism and has always been against Neo-Cons. Infact he voted against Bush more often than the Democrats did. Try "researching".

The message is worth the money paid. Well here is the real story, He spent the money campaigning for liberty and promoting the concept of freedom. We gave last year 75 million dollars to Yemen. The real "Tea Party" started by Ron Paul is almost Liberatarian. If anything is going to change - that's the place to start. It doesn't make sense to heave these sand bags (Reps) into the Congress and Senate, and not have them do Anything at all. The only way to affect real change is to change the game entirely.
