  • Can u do a vid on things people shouldn't say 2 anorexics or maybe just ppl with eating disorders b general. Thx!:)

  • nope i dont think diet pills are necessary for "healthy" weight loss. ive been struggling with diet pill addiction for 13 months, and its pure hell and makes my eating disorder worse. it doesnt help and causes side effect esp anxiety. diet pills is all about the obsession of being thin, well when i take them i just feel like im gonna lose a bunch of weight but i know the pills are destructive and hurting me. i dont recommend them.

  • Follow me on Twitter! I watch your videos allll the time! @megizfantastic

  • diet pills aren't healthy for anyone, even if they do need to lose weight. i would definitely find it triggering. my dad recently got an eliptical machine and comments on how i should start using it... completely forgetting that i used to have a problem with overexercising, and that, at this point, exercise is not a good idea for me. not helpful, pops!

  • Hey! I absolutely love your videos and your honesty!! We are already friends on fb and I have my blog protected, but I decided to make my own yt channel :)

  • ur so pretty <3 i know u can overcome the purging ur so strong . ur really my hero !

  • @somekindofgrace It' EXTREMELY difficult living with dieters when you have an eating disorder yourself. I empathize with you- how frustrating! Thanks for the advice on diet pills. I don't want to learn that lesson myself, so I'll take your word for it!

  • ..much.. I'm praying for you! Hope you have an awesome week <3

  • omgh! it is weird for me too.well it triggers me when I see my parents excercising or my sister excercising, I know its good and healthy for them but sometimes it makes me mad, like its not fair that they can excercise and I'm not allowed..idk how to explain it lol sometimes I even time their sessions, its sickening, its likeI dont want them losing more weight than me or something..idk..idk how to stop being so mad about it because I know logically it doesnt make sense for it to bother me so m

  • @KafkameetsPlath I get angry too! Mostly jealous. i have to just remind myself, all in time. Once I am giving my body the proper nutrition to function, I get to exercise too. Keep your head up! We'll both get there. We WILL.

  • @KafkameetsPlath me too! i'm getting better at dealing with it though, it really takes time :/

  • You are so goregous, I swear!

I don't normally watch vloggers but there's something about you, like, you seem like such a nice person (:

    Stay strong,

    xx

  • @iflymilly aww thanks! Your words are so encouraging and help give me the strength I need to fight this little bastard called Ed. much love xxx

  • you will be free from purging soon i have faith in you stay strong. I m praying for you

  • @justwanabebeautiful Thank you. I need people to believe in me. You have no idea how much that means to me!

  • I love your cardigan girlie! Can i ask where you got it?

    Praying for you x

  • @ohmeandmybigideas Forever 21! I seriously get all of my clothes there except jeans, underwear, and bras lol. TMI. Cheap and fashionable clothing! Gotta love! xxx

  • I think you follow me on youtube.

that is weird about the diet pills....I think of them as really disordered. have you confronted her?

the temptation won't go unless you talk about it with her.

good luck with ur no purge exercise plan.

    I adore your hair xxxxxx

  • @HungryHeartss I don't think I will confront her yet, unless the opportunity presents itself. crap did I talk about the no purge exercise plan? Lol *crosses fingers and hopes for the best*

  • ... so your mum's just engaging in behaviours the rest of the western world seems to be engaging in. I don't think it'll be anything to worry about... Sorry for the multiple-comments/ essay writing, but there were tonnes of things in here I could relate to! Hope they're not a total eye-sore! x

  • ... so even if you're tempted- remember the awkward cycle it'll get you in! Retaining 14lbs+ of pure water, taking more to counter-act that, & going through it all again. Also, as for other people taking diet pills: I know we worry, but remember how big an industry weight-loss is, and how it's just mainstream consumerism at play. Everyone wants to lose those extra couple pounds, cos that's just society these days. It's only an issue if it becomes an obsession/ detrimental to health...

  • @SMaiaMc Oh man I definitely DO NOT want to retain water more than I already do! I really hate to weight-loss industry. It's so messed up and makes people feel less than the beautiful people they already are...

  • ... the diet pill thing. You're totally right about getting hooked on those. I went down that road, along with laxatives & as a result experienced SEVERE edema when I started recovery. I had elephant-legs/ no ankles for almost 3 weeks (had to hide with maxi dresses), and even after that, it was still noticeable. Not in an overly-sensitive/ distorted ED way either. If you go down that road, your body will start hoarding water like an absolute bitch!...

  • ... just a heads up. You will be SO anxious for the first week or two. The great thing? YOU GET OVER IT. The only other time you'll find yourself feeling anxious about weight gain/ curious about possible weight-loss is if you have a day where you eat something you ordinarily would've avoided... but weekly weigh-ins disprove any suspicions about substantial weight-gain. If you even gain anything from it, it'll be the same steady gain you should experience as part of recovery anyway!...

  • @SMaiaMc haha yeah, I weighed myself a day after I made this vid and I hadn't weighed in awhile. Despite eating SO MUCH MORE than I used to, I ended up losing weight. I'm learning to never trust that damn scale and trust my body instead when it tells me it needs nutrition! Thank you for your thoughts ;)

  • ... (ran out of characters) & I really don't think I would've gone as long as I did without their vigilance. To be honest, it wasn't even that hard for them, cos they'd be watching TV where I was eating anyway, & they're bedroom door is adjacent to the bathroom, so it's not like they had to stand awkwardly outside whilst I went in with the door open.

As for ditching the scales... it's DEFINITELY a good thing, BUT...

  • I know you said you're not sure if your parents are in a place to help you [with regards to purging], but I was 6 months+ purge-free when I asked them to help me. I pretty much gave away ALL my tricks (ways to hide it/ avoid food/ work out in secret) & asked them to not let me move from where I ate for AT LEAST 45 minutes- hour after eating. I even went to the toilet with the door open & slept with my door open (so I couldn't purge in my room). It sounds heavy, but it worked...

  • @SMaiaMc Here's the thing- I did that once, told them all my tricks and asked them to sit with me after meals. But SOMEHOW (because Ed is THAT much of a tricky little bastard), I still find ways to act on behaviors. We just had family therapy yesterday and now I'm convinced they really are unable to give me that kind of support because they think I'll resent it. Idk, it's complicated!!!! Glad it worked for you!

  • glad you're doing so well!

diet pills: i think of them as an ED thing too - i have and am currently taking them, tho i know i probably shouldn't... i only take the caffeine free ones, so i have not become addicted or anything, luckily. if my mom had them it would totally freak me out and piss me off.

p.s.: please watch my first video on my channel! thanks :)

  • @tirEDofcoping Do diet pills really do anything though? Have you noticed a difference? I'll def check out your channel :)

  • @raganmae they have made a difference, but it is VERY TEMPORARY and not worth the $ they cost. stay away from them! : )

  • You make my day! Your just so wonderful to listen to and always have great things to say.

  • @inspire249 Thank YOU for listening to my rambling! Makes me feel less alone :)

  • I am constantly amazed by how insightful you are! I'm glad you are doing better!

  • @lauranorwar Thank you :) I'm happy I'm doing better too! i hope today finds you well love.

  • Diet pills are something for an eating disordered person to obsess with, in that sense they are bad, a lot of them don't work and women who feel desperate to lose weight buy all of them hoping for a miracle and most of the time nothing happens. I hate when my parents etc. diet/ lose weight because I feel insanely jealous and I feel like I need to sabotage their weight loss? I don't know if you want to look at my channel because I'm not sure it will help you, but you can look if you want :)

  • @totalH20 I wish diet pills didn't exist then. It seems nothing good comes out of them except disappointment, addiction, and health problems. I'll def check out your channel! thanks!

  • Sorry I mentioned tumblr but the autocorrect on my phone decided to change that

  • Absolutely, when my parents talk about dieting and good/ bad foods its SO weird for me. I can't really explain it other then being super super weird. And it would be amazing if you followed me on tumble

...I think the URL is unglamoroused.tumble.com....I think! :) and also the scype thing sounds really awesome too! Ahhhh this is long :p

  • @Unglamoroused Cool! We'll def have to Skype sometime then! And I find ya on tumblr too. Right now the network I'm on blocks all blogging sites. What the heck?! ;)

  • @raganmae yay! I would actually love to talk to you, you seem like such a sweet person! Oh, thats super weird. My tumblr hasnt been working well...

I just noticed how many spelling mistakes I made when I wrote that on my phone...oppsie :)

  • The parents have/had diet pills and laxatives... It seems really hypocritical to me. But then again, I stole them. X^D They never said anything to me, but they probably knew I did it, so it's whatever. I mean, that is how I started doing laxatives though because I found them in the medicine cabinet. My mother bought me diuretics and diet pills. It's funny, because I swore I would never to laxatives or diuretics, or purge for that matter, but ended up doing it all anyway. Oh the power of EDs...

  • @FatasticAngel666 I think the fact they didn't say anything when it was probably obvious you stole some, says they knew better and knew it was hypocritical of them. I really do hope you're free of laxative/diet pill abuse now. It's a hard thing to break away from once you've started- at least that's what I've observed.

  • @raganmae Maybe... I mean, what are they going to do about it anyway? They should have known that if they have them in the house, I can sniff them out easily. Lol.

And yes, it is hard... I am not free of the laxatives, but I don't take diet pills very often anymore. I'll probably start again when I get money though. It makes me anxious that I'm not taking them. Definitely adding to the addiction there. Oh well. I hope your day is going splendidly. 8^)

  • I used diet pills a while ago and it really really messed with my heart. If I need a little boost I'll just drink some black coffee instead. But yikes, those pills really scared me.

  • @gypsyrose713 Oh gosh, messing with my heart even more is something I DO NOT need. Consider me completely against diet pills now! yikes!

  • Have you see Shan Larters videos? She is awesome and does awesome videos! The "sludge hammer to the scale" thing reminded me of her becuase she does that in one of her videos. Love your videos keep it up!

  • @Searrha haha I'll have to watch that video then for some inspiration :)

  • It's good to hear ur well :) I'm not sure if u r following me

  • I also think it is odd to use diet pills, especially when you have someone in your family that is struggling. Funny thing, the other day my mom asked me for my super accurate food scale because she is trying to lose weight and diet...it was really weird for me and I didn't know what to say because my parents have been critical of that behavior (weighing food) in the past...just saw similarities with your experience. Thanks for your videos :)

  • @kalese42 Isn't that so weird? They give you a hard time for it, but think it's ok for them. Kind of hypocritical if you ask me!

  • totally avoid diet pills at all costs. please. you said you felt like shit before, adding diet pills to that makes it 10x worse. i took diet pills once, ONCE, and ended up spending a month in the hospital with near kidney failure.

so not worth it. if you think it would be okay, you might even bring it up with your mom. at least let her know that having them around is detrimental to you?

  • @psalm1181 I've heard diet pills are really not a good idea from...well, everyone. Think I will be most definitely staying away from them! Thanks for the advice!!

  • I'm glad you're feeling happy in ways,

I'm really sorry money isn't great :( I think a lot of people are having money troubles at the mo with how things are so try not to worry about Christmas on that front,

Thats a really good motivation to gain

    You are a inspiration,

    xxxxxxx

  • @Aisana911 LAME MONEY! I hate even thinking about financial stuff! Hope you're having a great holiday season :)

  • I am happy to hear that you are doing well. Stay strong, you can do this. You are not alone!

  • @hellokitty8404 none of us are alone! thank you :)

  • Yay for a new video!!!! I think it's odd for people to use diet pills. They obviously aren't healthy and are known for being dangerous. I think it's especially odd for the parent of someone with an ED to be using them. Hopefully they are left overs from "before" and your mom isn't currently taking them. Do you believe that she his?

PS. I don't know if you are following me :)

  • @loveandsolace I think these diet pills are a new development. I've gone through these drawers before but I've never found anything like them in the past. It just kind of creeps me out!
