  • dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lucky

  • Damn you Jim and Simon!!!!

  • When an rc plane looses battery power there is no power to any controls of the plane so yeah it wouldn't be able to glide as ailrons and elevator stay in the one position.

  • @TaZ7310 Hi TaZ, actually in this model (and most electric rc) the power gets cut to the motor first, leaving enough power for the control services. There was control of the dying plane, but no power to recover from the dive.

  • However, not knowing the main cause (we thought is interference), we fly again and this time, power failure at low altitude, the plane when spirally down. Postmortem review the cause of the crash, esp when at full throttle where the AMP draw is high + the video, the receiver just went DEAD, it restore at simulated throttle down.

Ever since then, we powered up the cam independently and never crash again after many aerial video flight :)

  • Have you shared the batteries with the cam? or is powered independently? I have once crash a plane cause I shared the power together with onboard cam, few second after full throttle, the receiver power when dead, that time the plane is at around 400ft++, not knowing whats wrong, I put the throttle stick down, and this restore the power n reset the receiver. the plane is save.

  • I've watched this several times and I still do not understand why it crashed. A dead battery turns a power plane into a glider, and then you land. What was the cause of the crash?

    Good footage.

  • G'day Allen, it should be a glider with no power, but when you add extra weight (camera and battery) and its not properly centered it turns into a stone, and they don't fly.

  • That totally makes sense. I've been there myself. Glad to hear that the camera survived.

I've got some inflight video stuff on my YouTube you can check out of you want.

    Cheers mate.

  • Haha Love video!! Excellent shots of Willow Court. I do a lot Willow Court videos, may be a I should hire you to do another Willow Court fly by!

  • You should :)

We have a brand spanking lightweight camera (1.3Mpix) and a new electric model currently in production.

Hopefully back in the air above Willow crt in the not too distant future.

  • excellent, can't wait to see some more arial footage of Willow Cout!!!

  • awesome like the onboard video

  • Why is that it *always* crashes in a tree, Lol.

  • The tree was a slightly safer option than the top of a 3 story building.

  • Yeh you could completely lose a plane in some of those buildings over there, especially in the lock up exercise yards.

  • "Holy fucking Guacamole, Brother!"

  • hahahah!!! thats madd

  • hahahah

  • could have showed us the wreckage

  • Sorry dude, was too worried about the damage to be thinking properly. Plane was a write-off, camera still OK.

  • it sounds like an aerobird hhaha good gliders shit fliers :)

  • lmao. holy fucking guacamole brother! that was awesome

  • what type of camra is it, and where did you get it from please?

  • G'day, it was a small digital camera (with video),only 3(from memory) megapixels, brought online, cost about $160 2-3 years ago.

  • haha nice 1 is that a F-27C stryker?

  • Nah, hobby zone extreme.

  • It came out with surprising little damage but has copped a few more knocks alongthe way.

Next digi cam for the next camera plane will be even more lightweight than the last.

  • YOU COULD OF MADE IT GLIDE THE WAY DOWN!

  • no more batys means no control

  • Tried too, but the increased weight of the camera made the plan unglideable, needed power to avoid a nose dive.

Camera was placed at the centre of gravity for the plane, but the extra couple of hundred gramms killed it.

  • Crash landing in Willow Court :P

    Good Ol' Woolworthsin background.

  • Git it in 1.

Hit the veradah on one building along the road through Willow court.

  • let me guess that's a firebird 2 yeah mine crashed in a 25 foot high tree yeah srry for the loss

  • that looks to me more like the Aerobird Swift. doing wing stall .. a comon on that bird

  • lol nice

  • holy advocardo sister...slut splut splat

  • Sounds like a Parkzone plane...by the stupid whine when the engine runs up...

  • lol i like how the engine lost it, then it falls like a rock with the wind blasting ROFL

  • where do you get those cameras??

  • LOLROFLMFAO holy fuckin quocamale brother!

  • You got 3 engine cutoffs but you didnt ralised the battery is dead and still pushed it to the limits! Incredible.

  • why do they always land in a tree i would like to see one crash into the floor and shatter

  • Plane, meet tree, tree meet plane, lol im sorry for your loss.

  • dude! OUCH!

  • holy fucken quacamole brother!!!

  • lol

  • holy fucken quacamole brother!!!

  • Did this thing fly again?

  • Had to do some major repairs, got it in the air (sort of) but not stable at all.

The fuselage was broken where the wing mounts onto it, so sadly no longer airworthy.

  • I thought Hobby zone planes had that feature that cuts out the motors so the steering would still work?

  • They do, the steering still worked, but with the added weight of the camera it's centre of gravity had moved forward and without power it didn't want to glide well. So down it came.

  • Holy fucken guacamole brother.LOL.Well done!Good video.

  • Thanks mate.

  • it stayed in tacked wow

  • Camera was OK, plane a write off.

  • (Houston we got a problem we got a bird in the sky down i repeat we got a bird down)

  • fuck that looks awsome HAHAHAHA and sounds even better. sorry bout the plane, but frigin awsome.

  • hes turning it off during flight dude

  • What kind of plane was it? It sounds like a MegaTech.

  • HobbyZone Aerobird Extreme with a 150g inc battery camera

  • maybe the motor cutting out inflight should have given you a clue?

  • Shoulda...coulda..didnt :(

  • pilot erroe not batteries

  • Wel it was pilot error in that the pilot didn't charge the batteries.

  • OMFG

  • I've been there , Brother !!!!
