there was a special on nat geo about this. life in the Americas before Christopher Columbus. apparently the indigenous tribes did not have much of the sort other than the corn and the turkey which was so important to they're lifestyle that they already had a whole festival dedicated to the turkey. they also mentioned the ice age killed off the mammoths which is why bison was scarce early on and other stuff and what we would of eaten before domesticated pigs, cattle, chicken.
