Well not to interrupt anything, however this is not a Norwegian song, but written by Danish hymn writer BS Ingemann in 1850...and regarded as a Danish christmas hymn. Nonetheless, Sissel Kyrjebø's version is just lovely!

This is absolutely beautiful. What is the title in English? A hymn in our church is titled Beautiful Savior and is not neccesarly a Christmas Hymn. How can it be possible that so much caring. love and beautiy be given to one so Beautiful as Sissel? This Hymn is one I sang as a child many years ago and still do.

God has given Norway and the rest of us a Beautiful gift.

The melody is Schlesisk from the 18th century. (Poland).
