PeTA is against all animal cruelty. When they find no-kill shelters who can't house the animals, can't properly care for them, and have animals so traumatized that they can't handle a regular social setting, they do euthanize them. One part I definetely liked was the grain being fed to animals could be fed to other people, but despite the relatively small energy loss between levels of a food web, if the grain isn't going to animals it will be being eaten by the same people anyway and overall the "surplus" of food for the third world will be nigh non-existant, or very hard to equate to a realistic solution to world hunger.
World hunger isn't because there isn't enough grain in this world to feed them. Its because the people cannot afford the grain and hence most of the times it goes to waste, or is consumed by the rest of the society.

You're absolutely correct here. It's not like anyone is going to go out and eat a forest. And when we cycle nutrients through animals and eat their flesh, we lose about 90% of the calories in the process. One meat-eater can live on the food produced on one acre of land. Twenty vegans can live on that same acre of land. Meat-production is both cruel and wasteful.

Get the facts straight, most of those don't even merit as good examples. Worse off is that they say that veggies are the only option, they don't suggest an alternative to us meat lovers. Example, how a diet really only needs 3 ounces of meat per serving... or is it a day? Meh, who cares, I eat 2 steaks and hotdogs on bbq night anyway.

The truth is they have to harvest the greens and the process of harvesting actually kills thousands of mice, rodents, cute litte bunnies and oh so defensless baby deer. i dont think eating meat sparingly is wrong, i have seen vegetarians with health problems too. if ur protesting against anything it should just be a more humane slaughtering. it would probably cost them alot more bringing out less meat for more expensive virtually making people eat meat sparingly, it solves the problem without there being massive economic crisis and tons of people losing jobs

One part I definetely liked was the grain being fed to animals could be fed to other people, but despite the relatively small energy loss between levels of a food web, if the grain isn't going to animals it will be being eaten by the same people anyway and overall the "surplus" of food for the third world will be nigh non-existant, or very hard to equate to a realistic solution to world hunger.

Sorry but that that "meat equals heart disease" is a myth. No conclusive evidence to suggest it is true and the fact that some studies have shown it does the opposite, it lowers the chance of people developing heart diseases.
