@DjSmokeyDokee If you mean email related to your unit's domain, you would have to check with your network admin or help desk and find out if they offer POP3, IMAP, or some other service that would allow you to check the email from Outlook (on say a home computer). If they do, they should be able to provide you with the specific settings and usually a how to catered specifically to those settings
So Josh have you had issues becuase of the somewhat new KBA questions? I am getting locked out of my acct and the help desk tells me one of the reasons is the KBA security and SSO (single sign on) accts. I asked if using outlook is considered an SSO and I am waiting to hear back.
If it is this using outlook becomes a problem until the"engineers" as he put it fix the issue which has no est time to be resolved.
@ericsfo1 The only place those security questions should be used is when logging on to the website. I think i did my questions about a year ago, and I havn't noticed any conflicts between it and outlook (and i use outlook daily). Outlook should just be using the password alone. I'm not sure why your account would kep getting locked out, but i doubt outlook is causing it
Thanks Josh. It made it so easy. I set it up with my Yahoo already in outlook. Is there a way to seperate the 2 and get the folders I create on AKO? Right now I use a rule that routes all AKO to a specific folder under the Yahoo setup.
@ericsfo1 Yes there is. First, create a folder for the mail you want to seperate. On the main outlook window menu, go to "Tools" - "Account Settings", highlight the account you want to redirect, then just click the "Change Folder" Button and select your folder. That will take care of the inbound mail for the account, but i do not yet have a way to do the same for outbound seperation. I believe you should be able to set a rule for that if needed. You can also use IMAP over POP, and that seps all
@ericsfo1 I am not a big fan of IMAP, but i believe that it syncs created folders and deleted messages. The settings are all the same BUT the following:
@bocrandall Are you talking about setting up GMail and AKO so that you can check both account simultaneously? I can make a video on that if so; that's the way i have outlook on my machine.
Bro a million thanks..and the easiest INSTRUCTIONS to boot. NOW if only YAHOO would allow me to set it up also..but noooooo they want 20 bucks a year..good grief. THANKS AGAIN JOSH!!
great instructions for soldiers who need to check AKO regular basis....worked right away once i find out where to start as my computer didn't have that first mail folder in the control panel area
