  • What Homecoming video is this from? I have got to get it.

  • can tell these guys were genuinely friends!

  • @rickylmartin1978

Coming from the UK these are people I have not heard about, but watching some of their videos by accident on YouTube it really does move you to tears , and I must admit they create a great atmosphere when they start singing. I am not a chuch goer but could listen to these singing all day.

  • The only thing I can say is, WOW.....

  • Love between saints of God is eternal.

Many faces & voices in this video are now gone from

us here in this world. But you can feel the love and be

    PART OF THE FAMILY!

Do YOU know Jesus as your Savior? Can YOU say

" I'm a child of the King"? If you're not YOU CAN BE:

Say this prayer: "Jesus forgive me of my sins. I believe You are the

Son of God. I believe You died on the cross for me and rose again.

I receive You as my King, and now I'm Your child. Thank You,

    Jesus for saving me. Amen"

  • what year was this filmied

  • How can you help but love ALL of these guys. They make you feel as if you know them all personally. And to think that I only found them on youtube AFTER they'd already died. J.D. and George and Jake and Vestal and Howard. They're all just wonderful.

  • This gets me choked up when JD gets choked up. My uncle sang with the stamps. I remember him telling me stories about JD and about when Elvis first tried out with the Stamps.

  • Thank You Jesus for bringing me too inside the royal family!!! Better than being the son of some earthly king, governor or president..

  • Lol

  • what video was this from?

  • So Touching! They are all together again! P.T.L.!

  • This is the truth, because we all face the harsh reality of death! And when that happens, you'll be ready?

Think about it! If you have doubts, invite Jesus to live in your heart!

  • My favorite bass singers of all time! Who cares who was better?

  • I am sure, now they are angeles in the heaven! Great video.

  • Beautiful bass singers. Thanks for uploading!

  • That will choke anyone in BIG TEARS... But they're still at it, and I wouldn't doubt it one bit either... They ain't gone... They Moved. Moved to a better place. Movin' Up To Glory Land!!!

  • It is so sad to see these two bass singers are all passed away. I cant wait to see them in the kingdom.

  • Now that will be a gtreat priviledge for everyone.

  • They ain't gone... They just moved... "Movin' Up To Glory Land!"

  • Bless him

  • I've got that 'royal blood' flowing in my veins - since Jesus gave me a new heart- that supernatural, heart operation. . . . Have you got it?

  • Whaa-shoot...! I knew it, I always stop action the Hawaii Concert and admire that ring, I always wondered what happened that fabulous ring...!

So Elvis done give it to his good friend JD Sumner... golly dang, that was a good choice. JD was the only one to give that ring to for sure... Elvis always did do the right thing by his friends... God Bless.

  • Great vid... I cried when JD got all choked-up!

Is that Elvis ring on JD's finger?

  • yes it is

  • If this does not make tears come to your eyes nothing will.

  • This is a very nice song.

  • when jd and george held hands i lost it awsome video

  • jd voice is like an alien i love it..he is the best

  • 2 legends

  • wow what an amazing voice God bless you for posting this

  • His voice gave me goose bumps

  • It saddens me that we have lost so many precious saints and pioneers and I miss them all greatly, but I guess the Lord knows what he's doing :)

Thank you Lord for giving us so many amazing people :)

    God Bless Everyone :)

  • VERY GOD! Thanks Hoover4000

  • What a wonderful video!I play it over and over again, George Younce voice is amazing. Thank you Hoover - you have brought a new intrest in my life, listening to your videos on You tube. Thank you from my heart!

  • What a wonderful video! What a voice!!

  • When did George pass away?

  • @bulyabalive About April 2005.

  • This video brought tears to my eyes. Its debatable who was better JD or George. I have always loved bass singers. I grew listening to barbershop quartets and gospel quartets, thanks to my grandmother, who shared her love of music with me.

  • Probably the 2 best bass singers of all time.

  • James Blackwood is between Jake and J.D.

  • Who was that next to Jake Hess?

  • The great Hovie Lister of Atlanta, GA, originally from Greenville, SC.

  • I didnt know about the Gaither and their homecoming friends until 2000 when I came over to the UK. I love them so much. I have introduced them to my fam and friends. i feel like I know them personally. Their music really ministers to me. A few have gone to heaven since I came to know them. I know they are in our beautiful home, but will always be remembered- Danny Gaither, JD, Hovie Lister, the Goodmans, Glen, James Blackwood, Jake, Brock Speer, George, O the list goes on. Livczo2

  • doen't get much better than this...what a great group of folks. I can see why my folks always collect the gaither material.

  • God Bless Him ..He called me the night she passed away..and I am just nobody just like i called him the night my dad passed away like I said before men aren't made like JD Sumner..he made me feel special and Shirley did too

    cheryl(Ky)

  • Beautiful song. Well done. RIP George.

  • No better realationship George and JD had. Funny stories they had. I can understand how hard it was for JD to lose his wife. They are both good men. Thanks Hoover4000

  • *lol* it's funny to listen to two basses talking together.. it sounds like they're clearing their throat to each other.. :o) we've really lost two of the best..

  • when george sing that song it made my heart run over!that one day we sing in heavenle group for ever amen.

  • perfect voice

  • oh yeah I miss them both.

  • I love that song! It has been my favorite since 1976 The words are so true!

  • absolutely pricelrss

  • if you look to the left at 6.12 m.. into the song, you will see that it is tony brown at the piano.. former piano player for elvis presley from 75 to 77

  • i love Jd Sumner and you are right wife2 i do believe that if elvis was still alive he would be with this homecoming crowd

  • Yes, he would, he would be very proud to do so, singing his favorite music!

  • JD and George had a wonderful friendship.

I couldn't help but be reminded of the close friendship between JD and Elvis.

This video will make chills run up and down your spine.

  • It does send a chill...brrrrrr, lol. As powerful as this song is, I can understand why JD had a hard time talking about it when George sang it at the funeral.

  • Two of the greatest bass singers ever has joined heavens choir together Amen they will be miss

  • Simply amazing. A chill ran up my spine... down my spine?? Well, I got a chill, anyway. Better close a window!
