  • Very fast little p51 .How much expo r using on low and high rates?

  • What prop are you using? 8X6?

  • what retracts are you using?

  • ok... now do a touch and go

  • We radared this plane at 153 mph in level flight. I think you might have goofed with your software.

  • From the YouTube audio, I ran a spectrogram on one of the high speed passes (around time 1:30) and then performed a spreadsheet calulation on the speed derived from the doppler effect. It was doing 100.7mph! Very cool, and fast!

  • @simhere2 Waste of time, but atleast you seem smart. Do you fly also?

  • @jesknow Yes, I'm an experienced 3D/sailplane/sport RC plane flyer. I don't know why you say it's a waste of time. It only takes a couple of minutes to run the calculation and I think it's fun to know how fast some of these RC planes are capable of going. Some of the speeds can be very surprising and impressive!

  • @simhere2 Guess I'm just lazy, check out some of my vids and tell me the speeds please.

  • @jesknow In your speed video of your "Hobbico Superstar trainer 80+ mph" I calculated in the speed pass coming out of the dive, it was doing 80.1 mph. In the subsequent flat pass, it was doing 58.2 mph. Not too bad for a trainer!

  • Man, That looks like so much fun... My problem would be landing it in one piece lol. Thank you for posting the vid!

  • that is sweet !!

  • good!!!!!

  • how much money was that plane

  • if u think that a failed gaske wont hurt themotor you r badly mistaken it will eak out fuel or air resulting in a lose of power within minutes i had it happen to me and the motor was in fact a 2 stroke and i had to get another one

  • @MrDrairplane yasus! I did so much to this engine please dont tell me how to run stuff! I love this plane/engine. If you lag in races and want to go fast than call me!

  • I have been through Fallbrook quite a few times, looks pretty nice. I am seriously considering buying a lot to build a house in Fallbrook. Anyone with ANY feedback feel free to send me a message or reply to my post! Thanks!

  • That was awsome!

  • That's one cool plane I like these kind of sizes and also a screaming 2 stroke. I have a Westfield BAE Hawk 39" span roughly 2.75lbs and got a Leo 37 in it goes like a rocket like your mustang I'm using a 8X8 APC with 10% fuel and getting 15,900rpm what are you running and what rpm?

  • Man that baby is FAST.

  • luv the low passes!!!!

  • R/Cs, the sound of wheee!dom.

  • Nice to heas some 2-stroke magic instead of all the 4-strokes..

  • i preffer the sound of 4 strikes and the reliablilaty!

  • are they more reliable ? more moving parts in 4 stroke ...

  • more gaskets to fail in a two-stroke

  • lol gaskets to fail.. not really mate thats an stupid point.

  • you sure? it happend to me with my two stroke and also there mixture is a barstard to set unlike a 4 stroke

  • well i said its not a good point because a gasket is a non mechanical piece, its not moving or anything so a good gasket will not fail at all. EVEN if it were to fail, depending on where on the engine it is.. nothing would happen.. might lose power but chances are the engine will still run for a while.. and another thing.. where are there more gaskets on a 2-stroke? the same gaskets are in the 4-stroke..?? i have no problems setting mixtures.. i find it within a few flights and then thats it..

  • ok what ever its a point of opinion u like two strokes i like four strokes we will leave it a that

  • well these are just facts not really opinions...

  • right ok iv tried to stop the arguement ment but u just have to be an asshole about it ok lets stick to our own opinions and leave it at that!

  • That's a fast little bugger!!

  • that take off was crazy o.o

  • nice landing

  • aw, how cute, a baby merlin engine

put some pellet guns on that thing

    nice landing BTW

  • This is so very very cool... Nice freakin' job guys.... Awesome!

  • WOW!!

  • Thats not a mustang its a p51 bullet.

  • Very Nice!!! Impressed

  • Duck and cover! O.o

  • WOW :) THE P 51 for small people .)

  • can i puta that engine to my pts p51 mustang from 9????? dammmmn i want one of those

  • 2 small put a YS110

  • **** thats fast

  • faaast

  • this plane is one of the fastest plane i have ever saw. i now own a mustang and it is not near as fast a this one. how fast does this one go????

  • Is it the Great Planes Mustang or House Of Balsa's as stated in the vid ? Confusing...

  • Great Planes. I corrected the description but a pain to go back and fix the video.

  • Yep I have finally managed to guess it by carefully inspecting the airframe on the vid (scheme, shape, etc...)

Are these Great Plane .40 sized retracts by the way ?

Your video simply convinced me to buy one straight away :-)

  • Nice !

What is the final weight ? Must be on the heavy side... It lands nicely though !

  • Scale speed = what, Mach 1.5? :-)

  • thats better ,oil , smoke, noise, good job

  • Hi Troy. Thanks for doing this video. (= Looks a lot faster on here than in person. hehe. I did a few mods to the wing. I used two layers of fiber glass on the bottom center section of the wing and one layer on the top. I did a fiber glass mold for the retracts as well. Also, I put a rear wheel retract, added a rudder and removed the scoop on the bottom of the fuse. It's a really heavy plane but it flys pretty well for the wieght. I almost forgot, it's the Great Planes combat p-51 ARF.

  • Did you have to make any changes to the stock plane to get this setup to work? Nice plane btw!

  • There you have it...
