IRISHWOMAN TORTURED AND BURNT ALIVE BY IMMIGRANTS - SISTER SPEAKS OUT AND JUDGE TELLS HER SHE IS RACIST
“Justice in Ireland is sleeping while its people are dying,” Ms French told the Central Criminal Court.
“People with criminal records in their own country should never be allowed to live among us,” she said, referring to Mineikas and Dilys’s previous convictions in Lithuania.
“The country has enough to deal with."
Judge White described the statement as offensive; inappropriate; xenophobic;
Remember that our EU masters couldn't have foisted their new dictatorship without help. Latterly Labour help, a party more treasonous than even the Tories for landing us in a fully-fledged federal European Bastardstate.
But people are waking up, not with just a little help from the Web.

the only party that cares about this country is the bnp there the ones who will hold a referendum for the rest of britain if the lisbon treaty becomes law without a vote then that is dictatorship tony blair should be on trail for war crimes by sending our people to afghanistan and iraq which is based on a lie he should not become president of europe if you care about this country and want a referendum on lisbon treaty for rest of britain then vote bnp don't believe the lies about the bnp
We signed away a substantial amount of our sovereignty when we joined the EEC back in the early 1970s. So please don't try to make out that this is something which happened overnight as a result of Lisbon. And we were glad to have the European Central Bank underwriting us financially when the economic sh*t hit the fan a year ago. There are advantages to being members of the EU (with or without the Lisbon Treaty).
There are no democratic advantages for ireland in being in the Eu, but there are probably financial ones ie being subsidised by the British and larger Eu countries because ireland is such a small unimportant nation, but i won't last forever and when the dream world that you're living in comes to an end you'll be in an even worse position, no national sovereignty and no money.good luck!
Perhaps you do not realise this. But Ireland has held the Presidency of the EU on at least four occasions. During these presidency periods, Ireland had a major role to play in deciding the EU agenda. In co-ordinating EU policy, we punched way beyond our weight as a small democracy of circa 4 million people. Far more powerfully than if we had stayed isolated on the edge of Europe.
Yes i know and a feeble little nation of 4 million people shouldn't be allowed to have such a disproportionate amount of influence-it's undemocratic. thanks for clarifying my point.
There's little to be gained by staying isolated on the edge of Europe. Far better for Ireland to have an intelligent voice in European affairs. If you think that this is undemocratic, then that's your prerogative.
3 men will be sentenced in Romania for trafficking Romanians into Ireland for labour exploitation.
Remus Fusteac 41, his son Arthur Sergiu 21, and his nephew, Alexandru 20, were charged with human trafficking, running organised crime syndicate, money laundering and possession of firearms.
They were arrested and charged after a joint investigation by the Gardaí and the police in Romania.
*YES SIDE: all international chambers of commerce, most independent economists, 3 main political parties, IFA, IBEC, IDA, ISME, SIPTU, ICTU, most major trade unions, Small Firms Association, Pfizer, Ryanair, Intel, Microsoft.
We ARE in Europe already- the sinister thing is that we have voted no already. We have no say after this yes vote. All because our Government ignored our voice, lined their pockets and pretended that its for more jobs. that is sinister
*YES SIDE: all international chambers of commerce, most independent economists, 3 main political parties, IFA, IBEC, IDA, ISME, SIPTU, ICTU, most major trade unions, Small Firms Association, Pfizer, Ryanair, Intel, Microsoft.
YES vote = no way back, we can't undo mistakes made in the treaty or the EU, our say in EU is halved. Some countries say is doubled.
NO vote = we are still in the EU, like we are now, and the EU must be more accountable to the people of Europe. It stops the runaway power of the EU parliament and its gravy train expenses.
The mature thing is to stand up and tell EU to correct the problems, not to give in to the accusing tut-tutting of EU politicians trying to tell us we should be embarrassed.
*YES SIDE: all international chambers of commerce, most independent economists, 3 main political parties, IFA, IBEC, IDA, ISME, SIPTU, ICTU, most major trade unions, Small Firms Association, Pfizer, Ryanair, Intel, Microsoft.
You keep posting this on every Lisbon Treaty video. Most people are pretty angry at the trade unions since the announcement that they want pay rises while everyone else is losing their jobs. Also, I dont think Fianna Fail are too popular, while nobody wants an idiot like Enda Kenny as Taoiseach. You also seem to forget that both the French people and the Duch people voted No, why are they not on you list of "No Side"??
Your really missing the point. Spain and Luxembourg gae the "right" answear. This treaty was supposed to be binned if it didnt get a unanimous vote, which it hasnt. The best arguement you can give is who supports it and whos against it
*YES SIDE: all international chambers of commerce, most independent economists, 3 main political parties, IFA, IBEC, SIPTU, ICTU, most major trade unions, Small Firms Association, Pfizer, Ryanair, Intel, Microsoft.
Wow, this debate is as hot as the debate in the U.S. over healthcare. It may be even hotter! I hope you continue to vote no. I know it really isn't my place but I feel as a citizen of the world I must care about the other nations of this world.
YES SIDE: all international chambers of commerce, most independent economists, 3 main political parties, IFA, IBEC, SIPTU, ICTU, most major trade unions, Pfizer, Ryanair, Intel, Microsoft.
No to Lisbon, we are not joining up to Europe to save or jobs and help the economy, we are already in the heart of Europe and we have no jobs and our economy is in bits.
They are just once again taking advantage of the situation to device a yes vote.
Nothing in the treaty has been draw up which relates to this situation.
Leave our constitution alone, you've destroyed it enough, its the only thing saving us now.
NO SIDE: Shinners, Ganley, Socialists, Coir, Eirigi, UKIP, Le Pen, BNP.
YES SIDE: all international chambers of commerce, most independent economists, 3 main political parties, IFA, IBEC, SIPTU, ICTU, most major trade unions, Pfizer, Ryanair, Intel, Microsoft.

What the brave and bullied Irish have NOT been told is very interesting. Perhaps Ireland's politicians and the un-elected "elite" in Brussels "forgot" to mention that massive bits of the infamous Lisbon treaty/constitution will not effect GERMANY or AUSTRIA ! Why not ? Because the Constitutional Courts of these two countries stood up for their citizens and built in protections and safeguards against Brussels !
You can read the German Court ruling and it's HUGE implications at No2Lisbon2.
Lisbon is about institutional reform. It has nothing to do with the establishment of armies. Nothing to do with abortion. Nothing to do with stealing power. Nothing to do with a New World Order (crazies!) It will not affect the power of the Dail. Nor the sovereignty of Ireland. Nor the continuation of the Irish culture. It makes the EU MORE democratic not less. It gives large countries LESS power. It promotes Human Rights. It secures the power of the Irish representatives. VOTE YES :)
There is no onus on us to increase military spending. The treaty states that all members must MAINTAIN a decent level of military and emergency response capabilities.
The cuts in health are nothing to do with this Treaty. The public sector is over paid and is a huge drain on our resources. The capital spending on our military will not increase in any significant manner because of this.
I Never said the treaty had anything to do with health cuts, but the treaty says member states will be obliged to increase military spending as directed by the European Defence Agency. More Military spending = less funding for Jobs, Education and health.
"Member states shall undertake progressively to improve their military capabilities"
We ALREADY do this. The IDF has a budget for continual upgrade and recruitment of new soldiers. We are under NO obligation to increase spending. The wording of "improve" is used so that a member state cannot simply hang onto working ancient weapons.
Whether we like it or not Ireland still needs a means of defending herself. As do all the other members.
If the Lisbon treaty is ratified it will give more power to politicians. Who, in their right mind, would want to do such a thing? Not I, who will proudly vote NO to this iniquitous treaty. It is not wanted and not necessary. JD.
we fight for 800 years to hand our land and laws to the EU HELL NO VOTE NO we should walk away from the EU we have are friends the USA & UK lets stick wih the people we know
Vote yes Sully! We are not giving much power at all to them. Anything we disagree with can be ignored & we can leave the EU at any time.
Then again I suppose it is only natural for you to want a no vote as you appear to be anti-EU in general.
Can I as why? We have an equal vote in the EU something we never had in our "partnership" with the US/Britain. They have given us millions to improve our infrastructure etc...
Hey Diom1982 the reason i'm ain't EU is because they flood our system with workers from other countries i'm not raciest in anyway i feel that there should be a visa type of thing in place so we can get people who will add value to the country .thats sucking the life out of our country .
i also believe that if it wasn't for the EU i wouldn't of lost my job . I Don"T trust the government one bit . i would vote yes if it would give me my job back but it won't
One of the EUs premises is the freedom of movement within the member states. The reason why the new members were allowed here was because of the IRISH government not the EU.Of course any Irish person also has the added benefit of being able to work in any other country.
We took full advantage of that in the 70s, 80s & 90s, when we undercut the locals. The Polish (and others) are doing the same.I disagree that they don't add value, it's up to Irish workers to up their game and lower their prices.
Did you know that the EU already has it's own para-military ? Google their website :
EUROPEAN GENDARMERIE FORCE they are "first and foremost at the disposal of the EU". Remember, after Lisbon the EU becomes a state and we all become it's citizens.Tony Blair will be our President and all our constitutions overuled by the EU's own supreme court !
Only Ireland can block this MADNESS by voting NO again...for our children's sakes !
Greetings from (still) democratic,sovereign Germany.
Find out what it is before voting yes!!! Vote "NO" against Manipulation Vote "NO" against Deception Vote "NO" against Fear Mongering Vote "NO" against TOTALITARISM vote "NO" IT'S OUR ONLY CHANCE, IF WE VOTE YES WE WILL NEVER VOTE IN A REFERENDIUM AGAIN! DO YOU TRUST THE POLITICANS TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS? I CERTAINLY DON'T!!! Vote "NO" to Lisbon 2
In future ALL of our rights will be defined and decided upon by the European (EU) Court in Strasbourg. It's no more "European" than the EU "parliament" as it doesn't represent all European countries.
If the "European" Court of Justice is independant of the EU (it is appointed & paid by the Council Of Europe )...why then have they never ruled AGAINST ONCE the un-elected commission in an important ruling (in 50 years) ?
And WHY does the courtroom have a blue carpet...with yellow stars ?
This guy is not for democracy. He does not support the peoples will. If you make or change a constitution all member states should vote trough referendums.
The 5,000 strong EUROPEAN GENDARMERIE FORCE (EGF) is patiently waiting for the Lisbon treaty to be ratified.
It will be "first and foremost at the disposal of the EU" and deployed across Europe (also Eire) for "crisis management operations" ( i.e. demonstrations and riots ).
They come from Rumania,Italy,Spain,France,Holland & Portugal with Turkish « observers ». All wear a badge with a grey flaming grenade & sword .
the whole modus operandi of the EU is to push legislation through without the approval of the common people. Make the legislation not understandable and confuse the true meaning. This has been done before. Let the experts handle it they say...the experts will then tell you what you should believe. Mistrust such a system.
The EU has NO power to make a law that affects the Irish people. The only power they have is to pass directives that must be passed then in the Dail. If the directive is unconstitutional or if the Dail wishes to ignore it, then it can.
Also you are ignoring the fact that we elect representatives of the Irish people to the EU.
Bilderberg will again attempt to push for the enactment of the Lisbon Treaty, a key centerpiece of the agenda to fully entrench a federal EU superstate, by forcing the Irish to vote again on the document in September/October despite having rejected it already, along with other European nations, in national referendums.
One of their concerns is addressing and neutralizing the anti-Lisbon treaty movement called Libertas led by Declan Ganley.
The EU is a prison of nations, political strangulation by unelected commissioners who cannot be held accountable and cannot be sacked.
If you wish to be a part of a corrupt self-serving organisation that ignores the very basic principles of democracy then vote YES. If you want free trade without political integration vote NO.
European citizens are not prepared to give up their autonomy only to be told how to live their lives by a small group of un-elected,unacountable,pampered and permanent `commissioners´
`Of course there will be transfers of sovereignty. But would I be intelligent to draw the attention of public opinion to this fact ?´ (Jean-Claude Juncker,3 July 07).
Vote EU sceptic & restore real democracy in Europe before it is gone for ever.
what a weird simplistic discussion. How can you expect a complex treaty negotiated between 27 countries to be written in language that is legible to the general public, to facilitate a referendum in Ireland? Do we ask that of any of our laws, that they will allow a referendum question? That would destroy our democracies!
The Lisbon Treaty (article 33,paragraph 6) grants the EU EXECUTIVE THE LEGAL RIGHT to CHANGE or ABOLISH : ALL rules/regulations/laws present in EXISTING TREATIES relating to ;TAX ; ECONOMY ; CIVIL SOCIETY ;TRADE;currency ;transport;consumer rights;environment etc.
« This is a dictatorial constitution » (Prof. Schachttschneider, University of Erlangen-Nürnberg).
The EU Can NOT be changed from within & clearly no political party of repute advocates or campaigns for withdrawal of Ireland or the U.K. from the EU & restoration of our independent, sovereign, democracy, with Justice & the right to self determination in a free country. The EU is an evil concept bereft of democracy, funding, supporting, aiding & enriching politicians NOT people.
The Lisbon Treaty is a brilliantly concieved document that is a "self amending" treaty (Article 48) that paves the way for the most perfect of totalitarian states.
Vote against it again because if ratified by all 27 states it will become illegal to even criticise the EU,let alone vote against it under the European Court of Justice ruling ( case 274/99 )
I cannot believe that you are not intelligent enough to know what the Treaty actually says in this regard.
It SPECIFICALLY says that ANY amendment made to the Treaty is subject to the laws and regulations of the member state. Anything that is changed must be ratified by the Dáil or by another REFERENDUM.
All these "elitists" who claim to be SO brilliant cannot write an understandable draft of a treaty? Yeah right. This is intent to confuse people and hide an underlying agenda. Go Irish!
We Americans will be faced with joining the NAU soon. we will be in the same type of predicaments Ireland and the rest are facing. We need to pay close attention to how the "dictators" try to bully a nation into submission.
The treaty was deliberately made hard to understand so the corrupt, appointed bureaucrats, domininated by the french and germans, would have, at their finger tips a European empire.(remind u of somthing from previous centries).
the people do no what the treaty is about!! we voted no!! URFADDER!! were not fucked, we wont get thrown out of the EU!! if we do there will be uproar!! also we are important u twat!! dont be saying things that u dont understand!!!
To understand the EU why not watch youtubeDOTcom / watch?v=xnMtc_QJ4-E it will help you understand the aims of the EU & those who are the minority pro group who welcome corruption, greed, centralisation and self enrichment. It makes it entirely understandable why Politicians are in favour & out of step with the peoples where France, Holland & Ireland VOTED NO to the Constitution now renamed Lisbon Treaty & note EU Commissioners have less democratic mandate than Mugabe NO ONE EVER voted for them!
An interesting thought from Maggot Wallstrom (EU Minister of Propaganda) Kemppinem head of the EU London enforcement offices 'WE did not lose one single referendum.' (This may suggest that the EC considers itself blameless re: Ireland) The other, a peach, reads: 'Yes is yes but no is unfortunate.' It was of course the ghastly Abba clone with her metronomic drone & ill kept roots who is supposedly responsible for communications! Well she failed to communicate in Ireland. Not even understanding NO
im getting the impression that politicians talking their way around questions is pretty universal. a bit of selflessness and honesty wouldn't go amiss.
urfadder's post relects the realpolitik of the European situation. Too many of the 'No' voters were naive enough to believe that their vote would suddenly cause the EU to make fundamental alterations in the text of Lisbon. Read my lips. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN. In the final analysis, either we're in or out of Europe.
The EU has all the political morality & understanding of integrity, democracy & the votes of the people as does Mugabe in Zimbabwe - praise be they do not yet have the confidence to act with the same brutality in their nacent Police State. One has to wonder, in this surveillance, bureaucratic controlled supra national zone, how long before its own Gullags are brought into being in this burgeoning open prison with its denial of democracy.
The People Have Voted NO to the Politician's ambitions.
The EU is a totalitarian dictatorship in the making, it doesn't give a damn about the people and shifts the goalposts whenever it suits them. The Irish voters are being ignored and their lapdog government is going to make them vote again on the same treaty, the Dutch were ignored, the French were ignored and the rest weren't even allowed to vote. The EU detests democracy and is fascist to the core.
nice. inclined to overstate things a little are we? way to throw about terms like "totalitarian" "dictatorship" and "fascist". one would hope a person from your country would be more careful in the use of such words. ps you know jack shit about irish politics. the irish can do what we want. there's nothing stopping us voting no next time. we've voted on other issues more than once before... abortion, divorce... there is nothing undemocratic about voting.
Fuk this lesbian treaty , that fuking jew the president of EU is fuking controlong our laws that meens us . Did you ever heard about 1 litle book about jewish cospiracy ? Read that , and you will find out that all jews already taking over the world . EU will be world government , Here you are , jews again . They want to make money from every Irish person . They dont ask us do we want this lesbo treaty , the force us in a friendly way . You c , jews never fight , they go arount the mountain .
Accept you comments about Patricia McKenna, muckshe. But, unfortunately, there was a lot if misleading information promulgated by more fanatical organisations like Coir. Many of their statements about higher taxes, the threat of abortion and increased prostitution and criminality had no connection whatsoever with the Lisbon Treaty. Many of the 800,000 'No' voters were seriously misled and voted for a pig in a poke.
You see the behaviour of the contertulians and you know who's trying to manipulate and opress the other. Respectless Gay is interrupting continuesly Patricia, who on the other side practises active ATTENTION before speaking up and even not looses composture while her oponent babbles in his monologue style without coming to an end. Sorry for mi really bad english. Hope you understand what I want to express.
Huge amount of double-think and double-speak being spouted by politicians. We are bombarded with statements that make no sense, for example: That signing away our sovereignty is somehow good for democracy. That by exercising our democratic right to protest we are being un-democratic.
Patricia McKenna
"..not because of our government btw, (we had a referendum) it was because of the late Raymond Crotty who had the courage to go & challenge the political establishment.."
The No vote won by a margin of 100,000 votes and I respect that verdict. There should not be a re-run of Lisbon. But the No voters seem to conveniently forget that least 700,000 voters declared themselves in favour of the European project. Just because they were defeated in the referendum, this does not preclude those people from continuing to favour the future evolution of the EU.
if 700.000 people in ireland said no and 800,000 said yes the treaty would have passed, and the no side would be left behind and nobody would dream of holding another referendum,i am sorry for the yes side who just cant respect our votes ,when the people were saying yes all the time there was no problem ! then we had a no vote in nice 1 and democracy went out the window would anyone blame me for voting no, i will vote no again if i have too ! i will also go out and join a campaign group .
The question is ! Will the likes of gay mitchell now respect the will of the people of Ireland !i doubt it somehow ! the bastards are gonna try and run it again !!!!!!
Listen to Mitchell have a go at McKenna about party loyalty. Cowen was at this recently too. Thats all these cunts care about, looking after their buddies rather than the people they are supposed to be serving.
but we have to stem from the brave Irish decision to ask for referenda throughout Europe.
I don't know what people think in other countries.
I just can say what some people think in Italy.
we are fed up with the EU burocrats who are only interested in advancing the interests of the financial lobbies and supporting the submission of Europe to US policies.
we believe that a strong Europe is in the general interest.
So Gay Mitchel is kind of saying that people are stupid for not understanding the treaty and should vote yes because politicians knows best.. Best for money and power for they own? Oh come on! And I don't buy that rich people vote yes and the poor vote NO.. We should say that NO voters have more common sense and more Democracy spirit. Gay Mitchel is not even polite letting the two other persons in this interview.. How rude.
The Irish Times is doing a survey asking "Do you think the NO vote significantly damages Ireland's standing within the EU?" The results are 37% YES, 63% NO. But what's most interesting are the comments left by ppl all over the EU. Most of them are from citizens across Europe THANKING the Irish ppl for voting NO... for them, too, because only in Ireland were the ppl able to vote on this. In the rest of the EU there were no referendums & the ppl had no say.
Than YOU very much for delivering a NO VOTE to subsuming Ireland yet further in The Evil Union with its disregard for freedom and the peoples of EUrope. History will show how courageouse it was of the people of Ireland to display with such certainty their self confidence that they can stand on their own feet without the nanny state of the EU with its bullying, threatening and dishonesty. It has been a great eye opener to many just how vicious & corrupt those who wanted the EU were prepared to be
fatjohn, I suppose the main thing is that everybody with a legitimate opinion on the Treaty should go out and vote, irrespective of whether it is yes or no. And, even though I'm a 'yes' voter, I will, of course, respect the democratic choice of the Irish people when it is unveiled at the referendum count tomorrow.
I find Vincent Brown and Eamonn Dunphy a bit difficult to take. Vincent is like a fellow who thinks he is the King of Ireland. He was never elected to anything.
First exit poll results just out. Very close run thing. The 'Yes' vote is at 47%. No is at 49%. The spoiled votes are at 4%. This poll was based on 1000 'soundings' taken outside 50 polling stations at 10 a.m. this morning.
If, like me, you favour a 'Yes' vote, please go out an tip the balance in favour of acceptance of the Lisbon Treaty.
Vincent is wrong. Both sides of the argument have been thoroughly aired over the past fortnight. People have enough information to make up their minds.
Keep the people frightened and fearful to get the result you want (Irish gov policy)....I SAY VOTE NO TO THIS SHAM TREATY....You will have a friend in God....NO TO LISBON!
Dear Irish people. Please do NOT vote yes for Lisbon Treaty. Vote NO, NO, NO... Do not let EU to became a Super State. Do not let others to run your life! I am form Slovenia and we had no chanse to express our will on the referendum. Do not be fools! What is wrong with present EU, why should we change that?
Bill of fundamental rights - means that EU tells Ireland how many immigrants both legal & illegal Ireland must take in. That these people can be hired for a minimum wage which means Ireland must compete for these wages or lose their jobs.
Ireland do the Europeans a favor & vote No
"Not a superstate that is dilluting the national identity." - Barroso -President of the European Commission
I see a lot of videos concerning the Lisbon treaty being posted by EPP...Of which Enda Kenny is vice president. Just try commenting on one of those channels...if it's not for Lisbon your comment will not be posted....Vote NO to the Lisbon farce!
If we're not careful you can get too bogged down in arguing insignificant points in regard to the EU.
When making my case for NO I just tell people this: In our democracy we get to choose the people who make our law. If they make law we dont like, we can vote them out.
In the EU if they make law you dont like, you cant vote them out. Because the commission is unelected.
I have won over countless voters with this arguement.
I love the way Vincent Browne is so biased about the Treaty (and a hell of a lot of other things) that Libertas saw fit to post a supposed journalistic interview by him on their channel. Brilliant.
I attended a meeting in Sligo 29 May 2008 and listen to a debate between libertas leader Declan and minister Dick Roche. I listened to Dick do nothing but bad mouth Declan and avoid the questions put to him by the crowd and Declan. I actually witnessed Dick make a statement and then backtrack 5 minutes later and deny saying it in the first place. I was undecided but now i am definitely voting no. I witnessed with my own eyes Dick Roche lying. NO all the way!!!
I'm embarrassed that Dick Roche is my local TD. I wouldn't ask him to help me cross the road never mind advise on the Lisbon Treaty. How can we ask the public to make a decision on something they don't understand. Voting like sheep just because our politicians say so is not acceptable.
Ireland loses 60% of its vote, in the EU parliament, where as Germany gains 100%. Also this treaty is being brought in during the German presidency, its Germany taking over Europe again. Vote NO!
NO F*CKING NO!!!! The fact of the secrecy, the lack of transparency, and the threats coming from barroso regarding Irelands democratic right to vote say it all. If you want to vote your way into a faceless, facist government with a possible Mr Butcher of Iraqi children Blair as your president then vote yes. Vote NO!
FUCKKKKKK THE EU EMPIRE IT WILL FAIL LIKE EVERY OTHER EMPIRE.

YES vote = Feck off people of Ireland and Europe
NO vote = Feck off arrogant money-grabbing EU politicians.
EuropesHope 2 years ago
YES vote = no way back, we can't undo mistakes made in the treaty or the EU, our say in EU is halved. Some countries say is doubled.
NO vote = we are still in the EU, like we are now, and the EU must be more accountable to the people of Europe. It stops the runaway power of the EU parliament and its gravy train expenses.
The mature thing is to stand up and tell EU to correct the problems, not to give in to the accusing tut-tutting of EU politicians trying to tell us we should be embarrassed.

No to Lisbon, we are not joining up to Europe to save or jobs and help the economy, we are already in the heart of Europe and we have no jobs and our economy is in bits.
They are just once again taking advantage of the situation to device a yes vote.
Nothing in the treaty has been draw up which relates to this situation.

Increased spending in Military when we are looking at 1.3 billion in cuts in the health sector- now thats what I call crazy!
Im voting NO!
slozer 2 years ago
Slozer:
There is no onus on us to increase military spending. The treaty states that all members must MAINTAIN a decent level of military and emergency response capabilities.
The cuts in health are nothing to do with this Treaty. The public sector is over paid and is a huge drain on our resources. The capital spending on our military will not increase in any significant manner because of this.
Diom1982 2 years ago
Diom1982:
I Never said the treaty had anything to do with health cuts, but the treaty says member states will be obliged to increase military spending as directed by the European Defence Agency. More Military spending = less funding for Jobs, Education and health.
slozer 2 years ago
Slozer:
The text of the treaty is
"Member states shall undertake progressively to improve their military capabilities"
Diom1982 2 years ago

I Don"T trust the government one bit . i would vote yes if it would give me my job back but it won't
sullyo1916 2 years ago
One of the EUs premises is the freedom of movement within the member states. The reason why the new members were allowed here was because of the IRISH government not the EU.Of course any Irish person also has the added benefit of being able to work in any other country.
We took full advantage of that in the 70s, 80s & 90s, when we undercut the locals. The Polish (and others) are doing the same.I disagree that they don't add value, it's up to Irish workers to up their game and lower their prices.

If the "European" Court of Justice is independant of the EU (it is appointed & paid by the Council Of Europe )...why then have they never ruled AGAINST ONCE the un-elected commission in an important ruling (in 50 years) ?

The EU has NO power to make a law that affects the Irish people. The only power they have is to pass directives that must be passed then in the Dail. If the directive is unconstitutional or if the Dail wishes to ignore it, then it can.

It has been a great eye opener to many just how vicious & corrupt those who wanted the EU were prepared to be

i'v just voted no. OH PLEASE GOD ITS A NO VOTE!!! if its a yes vote, i'll never again feel the same about being irish!!

fatjohn, I suppose the main thing is that everybody with a legitimate opinion on the Treaty should go out and vote, irrespective of whether it is yes or no.

Bill of fundamental rights - means that EU tells Ireland how many immigrants both legal & illegal Ireland must take in. That these people can be hired for a minimum wage which means Ireland must compete for these wages or lose their jobs.

If we vote yes, we will loose that right forever!!

I noticed this too. They cant stand up to criticism or holes poked in their argument. They cant have a debate or have a consensus discussion.

NO all the way!!!
moranolivia 3 years ago
I'm embarrassed that Dick Roche is my local TD. I wouldn't ask him to help me cross the road never mind advise on the Lisbon Treaty. How can we ask the public to make a decision on something they don't understand. Voting like sheep just because our politicians say so is not acceptable.
If in any doubt it has to be a no.

Vote NO!
