What temperature was the hyd oil getting too? ... man there must be a fair amount of heat build up from just the radiated heat ... on your rams and piping .. is this on the West Coast?.

I remember a similar situation in south Wales (uk) where an underground mine (or may have been an old rubbish dump, not 100% sure) had been burning for quite some time. The excavators the company used were modified before hand with better air filtration for the operator, pull cord fire extinguishers etc. I wouldn't like to be the dumper driver in your vid though!
