Of course they can be trained. They're just terriers and as such have a mind of their own. Its not that they don't understand what you want them to do, its that they just may have their own agenda.
my 2 yr old bully listens like a champ, without treats too ;) didnt take me long to train her at all, just had to nip the chewing issue in the butt which took a bit
Bull Terriers can be trained, I had mine 6 weeks and already got him to sit, lie down, stay, roll over, drop the ball. Thing about this breed is the amount of time spent to get them to do very basic obedience if spent on a Border Collie or German Shepherd they would probably do so many tricks they could have their own tv programme. It takes masses of patience with Bullys, not because they are stupid but because they know what damn good dogs they are and that they shouldnt need to perform lol.
wow u must be a proffesional..a trained expert couldnt even make my dog sit..he would do everything else but that..he was totaly embarrased ..burn hehehaha ..keep it up !!!!!!
My 5 Month old Bully Male will sit and stay and I can put down his food and he will stay until I give him permission to go to the bowl, don't be fooled , they are smart , just stubborn as hell !!
ive trained 3 bullys now to do most things, its all repetition and keeping it as simple as possible for the dog to understand, use single words and always reward with the treat, you also have to make sure the dog is relaxed before you start and that no one else is around so he can only focus on you. good luck.
Aww she's a little star... Bodie will sit,hi-5, give paw,lie down, stand, and speak..... but only if I have a huge bag of treats on show...lol Henna can do all the same exept 'speak' for some reason its the only one she looks at me as if I'm a total idiot when I ask her...lol
I grew up with APBT's (which are very similar to bully's) and I found them VERY trainable. They are extremely intelligent. You just have to learn to deal with them being a bit headstrong. But in my opinion, they are so headstrong because of their intelligence.
Just be ready for lot's of games of "Mind checkers". Haha.
@diver0129 all my APBT does is play mind games. i say kennel she lays down and thinks about it i say NOW and she gets up very slowly and walks in there.
wtf? i watcha ll these videos and they constantly talka bout dieing of skin cancer...whats the deal? just to much sun? or just to hot with the combination of sun?

That has taken me almost a year.
Now i'm teaching it to fetch the object i trow away instead of getting the nearest thing he finds.
