Regarding the nature of such intervention, it is irrelevant really. It could be a virus, an alien invasion, nuclear war that almost destroys humanity, or a group of benevolent nord aliens, aka "The Federation of Light". Humanity needs to experience something truly traumatizing and new that wakes people out of capitalist cultural mud and into the realities of the purpose of existance. Organic existance that is.
