they're called "safety bladders" in the owners manual....prevent water from filling the kayak completely.
yes there is also a seat.

i'm not an experienced kayaker.
this was my second time on the water.
so i cant put a number to the speed.
others say its almost on par with a hard shell. one time i launched from brooklyn and a passerby watching said damn, that thing boogies brotha" and i do find the paddling easy. tracking is really good, i think folbot makes a rudder system too whichis really cool. its great fun on rough waters when a speed boat passes. very stable too.
