Guns are dangerous, yes. However proper education regarding them and obeying the laws of firearm safety would certainly be more effective than a total ban for reducing the number of firearm related deaths. Making something illegal doesn`t make it go away...just look at how many drug addicts there are. Keep them legal, but teach people to use them responsibly and wisely.

Becomes obvious in the difference of crime between the UK and USA.

Crime rates are not too different... but it seems robberies just can't be done at knifepoint.
