  • he found his car keys

  • the guy was trying to be funny didnt work but was brave

  • 1:42 that must be the "Golden Gate Bridge"

  • that's a lot of damage. Most people don't realize how much damage a fire can do

  • it must be fun to slide down that pole

  • I would be upset also. Thats your whole freakin life burnt up and destroyed, nothing left. I know they are just THINGS and you are lucky to be alive but thats everything you own gone in seconds. And most ppl do not have insurance either

  • I watch KPIX all the time on txu I never thought that Rescue 911 would have an incident reeanactment from the same place as the station broadcasts from.

  • lol thats so raven the show was made there!

  • If you are interested in seeing rescues in San Franciso, check out NBC's Trauma, which is a show taped there showing emt rescuing people

  • @davinp yeah the only problem is is that show is 89% unrealistic and more drama then truth.

  • why is this video suddenly funny at 0:00?

  • That's just from where the tape started recording.

  • I appreciate The Family Channel for assisting CBS in this matter.

  • Firefighters cuts holes in the roof and break windows to vent a fire and make it easier to control.

  • At precisely 4:12 in the video you can see a slightly damaged VCR, and where an expensive TV probably used to be.

  • I remember this episode and the guy with the beard. Also that's Ocean Beach and behind the guy walking is the Cliff House and below is Seal Rock where seals gather and bark

  • I remember watching this episode many years ago. I feel very sorry for the people who lived in that apartment. I hope they are doing well today.

  • The guy said, "I was going to clean today- I guess I don't have to." That's funny! At least he got his car keys back in good condition with the little light on it working :)

  • Oh my gosh I recognize this episode!

  • Does anybody know the name of the beach at the end where the guy is walking by....?? (At sunset)

  • its ocean beach...its by great highway.

  • Thanx...

  • DANGEROUS WORK! LOL :P

  • 2:30 is a scene we all know.

  • what that in the pan at 0:59?

  • 0:26 is used in Rescue 911- Episode 709 "Missing transplant recipient".

  • I saw two segments from this episode that are used in the intro.

  • Yup, I recognized them too. :)

  • also rumor has it that the first segment "Flooded cave" has a scene in the intro of a rescuer crawling through a cave, it's true.

  • SFFD has no bells that go off in their stations . CBS put it in there for additional effects .

  • really?

  • They have tones . The low pitched tone alerts the station and the higher pitched alerts the department .

  • They could have aired it on the west coast, but they chose not to since they were afriad people tuning in in the middle of the segment would think it was earthquake coverage.

  • This was Engine 35 yet the dispatcher sent Engine Co's 1, 8, 29, Truck 1 and 8, Division 1, Bat. 3 and Rescue 1. Engine 35 isint in there.

  • the shot of the fire engine at 00:28 could be used if there was a 2008 version of rescue 911.

  • I wonder if Mikes son is now a firefighter.

  • Hum i wonder that too?

  • That's funny because they normally do send four engine companies , two truck companies , a battalion cheif , a rescue squad , and a medic unit on a first box alarm .

  • Yes he is !

  • Really? What station is he in?

  • geez the guy sounds like hes pissed off at the firemen.

  • Yeah, but he had just lost pretty much everything he owned, so he probably wasn't in a great mood.

  • Look at that cool vintage 7-Up® machine at 01:30 and 01:37!

  • no offence to you fire men but I find it stupid that some fire men hold on to the back

  • They don't anymore, this is rather old

  • if there was a 2008 version of Rescue 911 they should do a docu segment of Sault Ste Marie Fire fighters LOL.

  • Kind of unusal for a dispatcaher to say the adress before the units to respond.

  • Mr. allgood judging this segment do you think this is a docu or regular segment?

  • I would say it's a docu.

  • Hey allgood, what is the difference between a documentary segment and a regular segment?? THANKS!! for all the great episodes of a CLASSIC show

  • A regular segment is re-enacted, or contains footage that was shot by non-Rescue 911 crew members (local news, amateurs). A documentary segment is filmed by Rescue 911 camera crews as it is happening.

  • There's a new SirSmosh video! It's really good! Watch it at the SirSmosh channel (spent 25+ hours making it)

  • Has anyone noticed there's no animated firetruck in this segment?, I think there's no animated fire engine in the original airing of this episode?

  • There probably was, it just got cut off on my tape.

  • My dad is a firefighter in Sanfransico. Station 1 Never knew what he really had to go through. It is a really physicaly demanding job. I always worry about my dad but I know that when he is with the rest of the firefighters he is in good hands

  • just a question was this fire in this segment caused by the Loma prieta earthquake or was this a separate cause?

  • This aired on the day of the Loma Prieta earthquake, so it had to have been filmed before that.

  • Kinda eerie, huh?

  • note: the 1st and 3rd segments from this episode are my favorite because the signs are unique such as COMPUTER, WANTED, SHO-DI, because in other episodes it's usually EMERGENCY police, fire, ambulance. and 911.

  • you forgot to delete the scene which appearently is from #216 "dispatcher down"

  • not much differences in the opening of the segment, however the sign on the firetruck is different because in other 911 episodes we see HB for Huntington beach fire dept.

  • Kill the bastard in the next segment! Sick nasty man

  • 2:31 is seen during the opening intro. 4:42-4:43 is near the end of the opening intro as well!

  • why were they throwing stuff out the windows

  • It's a shame that they didn't show this on the day when the Loma Prieta earthquake occured. It would have given some the idea of what the firefighters were doing to help protect their city from anything that occurs there.

  • They actually neglected to show it on the west coast on purpose because they were afraid people would mistake it for earthquake coverage.

  • That is what I thought happened. Still, I think they should of shown it anyway.

  • why would they think that they would mistake this segment for earthquake coverage?

  • Look at the bottom of the screen on the right you might learn something.

  • in this segment does shatner say, "This story is not a recreation"?

  • I don't think so, but I don't have his full intro, so he might say it in the cut off part. The only other story that's wasn't a re-creation where Shatner didn't say it was segment from 701 where a school bus t-boned a car.

  • I really like this episode i wish rescue 911 has more episode like this!

  • Their was a similar street on the '90s sitcom Full House. I remember they lived on Gerald Street - I don't know if that street really exists.

  • I thought the owner took that pretty well considering his entire place was destroyed.

  • Ironic that this apartment fire happened in San Fransisco, where the Loma Prieta earthquake did the most damage and that this episode aired that very night.

  • Great music when they responded to the house fire.

  • That Looks like the Street In Mrs. Doubtfire.

  • Oooh, it does

  • I too notice that as well. It also looks like the street that is shown in the opening intro of "Full House"

  • It looks like pretty much every street in San Francisco.
