Wow, I don't usually leave negative feedback but since I was trained in Tui Na, I'm having a hard time resisting the urge. The only massage move that I saw that would be considered strictly Tui Na was the hand rolling- which could use some help- just saying. A longer video showing more techniques would be wise.

massage is healthy, but most of the Chinese massage places in London employ unprofessional, uneducated girls with no knowledge of spoken English. I have had a bad, really bad experience many times, and I could not get my money back. I do not mind the money, but the girls have treated me so badly. One had the longest nails I had ever seen, and they refused to change her.. I withrew within 5 minutes. Another case, the girl hurt my injured back so badly just because she did not understand English

*Any* massage technique will do this if the practitioner tries to immediately jump into deep work. You can think of the fiber structure of muscles like a woven rope - 1) loosen the cords, 2) begin teasing them apart, 3) start loosening the strings that make up the cords, 4) begin teasing them apart. If you try to immediately jump into step 4, deep work, it's like trying to tease apart the strings while the whole rope is still woven. You're more likely to tear and cause damage than anything.

A lot of toxins are released into your muscles from all the rubbing. This will cause "twinging" pains. A good massge therapist will tell you to go home, take two asprin and have a nap. All in all, the pain is fairly normal.

A lot of tui na stuff is pretty rough and not really meant to be a muscle massage as much as it is metaphysical one, but this is one of the few things that actually feels pretty nice. All the rubbing, tugging and smacking I guess draws some blood to the skin on your back and leaves a residual body heat that gives a pleasant tingling sensation and warmth to your back. Though a tui na practicioner might say something like it's improving your circulation, I dunno.
