  • you sound completely great O_O

  • SOUNDS HELLA GOOD. (:

  • heyyyy ur korean is really really good :) to give you a little advice, i think your ㄷ sounds more like ㅌ! but it's fine really, doesnt really matter :) im so happy when foreigners are interested in korea or korean! xD keep it up! cheers! im korean btw :3

  • This is pretty good Holoskies, however just be careful with (ㅂ) and (ㅍ) you tend to say ㅂ with a bit of a ㅍ sound. But man with ur korean accent, when ur fluency is improved then it will be very understandable, it already very is.

Becoming a native in Korea accent will never be achieved unless ur super talented in language, however I think you can be fluent. One of the most near-Korean accent I ever heard from a non korean.

  • @songrylls Having a native Korean accent is not my goal. However saying that having a native Korean accent is only possible if 'super talented' rings incredibly false to my ears. Are all Koreans super talented then? If not we have to add to the criteria time spent learning the language, speaking and listening with an effort aimed at pronunciation etc. It just so happens that very few foreigners spend as much time in Korea, with Koreans, and 'as' Koreans as the Koreans themselves.

  • @HamJeong I see, first of all let me apolosize if the usage of the word 'super-talented' offended you in any way, because that's what I'm perceiving from ur tone. One must admit however, that there actually are 'super-talents' in linguistics. Obviously the 'talent' I was talking about is speaking a non-mother tongue like a native, not a native speaking their language natively, if that answers your question to my wordings.

  • @songrylls I'm not offended at all, but that doesn't mean I don't think what you said was any less false. I'm not familiar with these super talents you speak of. I know of certain people who speak lots of languages very well but I'm not at all convinced that its because of some talent (much less super talent) of theirs. What I'm saying is the line between native speaker and non native with relation to accent is a lot more flexible than you seem to allow

  • @HamJeong Further more, I'm not sure which cultural background you have, and that isn't really important in this discussion I guess. When you said "A very few foreigners live with Koreans like a Korean" that is in a sense very true, but at the same time came to this paradoxic thought: If a foreigner spends much time in Korea, with Koreans, and as Koreans themselves, that foreigner probably is Korean.

  • @songrylls I don't see why that foreigner would be Korean myself, though if you want to stretch ideas ofcultural belonging I'm sure you could say that. Still you would behard pressed to find a consensus among Koreans that the person is Korean. But then you expand your definition to say "Becoming a native in Korea accent will never be achieved unless ur super talented in language", a Korean, or have learned the accent and language well enough to be considered Korean, with which I agree entirely.

  • @HamJeong hey HamJeong, you seem to be quite specific on definitions. Well, the 'super-talents' may not have to be people who speak multiple languages perfectly, but my definition of them are those who pick up foreign languages fast in short amount of time with relatively low amount of time spent on studying, a relative term.

So back to the accent thing, I had mentioned it because, lots of ethnic Koreans have trouble with the accent themselves despite being around with Koreans and living with..

  • @HamJeong (cont'd) living with Koreans in a relatively Korean life. Maybe I have drawn the 'less flexible' line because of lack of non-ethnically Korean person (without a Korean speaking family) speaking a most perfect standard news level Korean in my life. Perhaps I've set a high standard. At least not in the Korean communities where I am from. Perhaps the situation will be different where you are, in which case that's awesome, a feat I've never seen achieved.

  • @HamJeong I'm in no way trying to say anything too opinionated, but just being objective with the statistics around me. My life-time Korean gets told it sounds 'foreign' sometimes.

  • you're really good!!!!!!!!

  • I think you're good enough, keep it up!

  • Not the best but it's GOOD ! 

  • damn, that's good! I understood it clearly. good job lol

  • You have a great korean accent!!! You can trust me i'm Korean =P... You are a little choppy at reading though. Keep working on it.

  • pretty good, bro. i don't see any problems on your pronunciation, but you gotta work on intonation a bit. That would make you perfect in Korean.

  • its really good!!

  • amazing!! very clear

  • OHH AWESOME YOU CAN LIVE IN KOREA, BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY MANY GAYS LIKE YOU, GAY GUYS ARE WAITING FOR YOU,

    FUCKING ASSHOLE

  • @tofigkaist WOW! What's up with the personal attacks? Are you jealous that he can speak more languages than you? You are the asshole here, my friend. Plus, you need to learn how to write the english language.

  • it's awesome!!

i'm korean. i can guarantee this is perfect!!

  • It's awesome! I was so surprised! do you study by yourself? You can live in Korea! ;-)

  • Excellent vids! Love your language passion. Nice accent :) Just did a video on language resources for north korean

  • EEeeeeppppp..yuh r so cute :D

  • Well, overall, I'd like to rate your accent as "nearly perfect." I'm Korean, and was born and bred in Korea my whole life, which means I'm a native speaker of the language. I had absolutely no problem understanding your accent, although you may still sound foreign to our ears. But it's changeable through practice.

  • I'll give you just a couple of pointers that might help you. They are: First, you should make a clear distinction among the three different types of consonants, such as plain, tense, and aspirated. Your plain consonants are a little too aspirated, so I suggest you let out less air when you speak them. And additionally, your vowels sound more tense and backward than what we perceive as adequate. Try to form the vowels more forward in your mouth. That's pretty much all I think there is to say.

  • real good ,mang

  • I've been trying for like four years to get a native accent and I'll tell you what, IT AINT HAPPENIN'!

Either way, kudos on being such a great speaker=)

  • I'm a Korean boy who's just turning into mid school and I think his pronounciation is really~ cool.

I think he's now like a real native Korean.

(But, I don't get why people care about accents when they speak any foreign languages..)

  • @Seoulization Some of it has to do with ease in pronunciation and making sure that people can understand you. Beyond that people like to have(or not have)certain accents for aesthetic reasons. Given that I learn Korean to please myself, it's important to me that I have a certain accent. I invite you to listen to a 40year old person from the US with a southern accent who starts learning french with no effort placed on their accent, if you do not see why accents are important in foreign languages

  • Aghhhh sooooooo jealous where did u learn?

  • dude ur freakin AWESOME.

  • WOW UR MUSHEESUH

  • how many langauges do you know?!

  • i'm korean.. you're better than me.

  • Your Korean accent is ... almost like a native speaker.

But, I could not understand some part of it and your pronunciacion of "ㅈ" and "ㄲ" were a bit different.

  • real good!!!!

  • real good!!!!

  • it's quite good :) good job !

  • 우리 친구 하자 ㅋㅋ

  • I could understand everything u just read except for last sentence. but intonation is still little weird :D but well done ! gonna get better.

  • Very fluent! But if you really want feedback I would say that 'ㅅ' sound is strong. It still sounds a bit like the English 'S' and 'ㄷ' is a bit aspirated which it sounds more like 'ㅌ'. But overall, your pronunciation is really really good.

  • ur tone sounds totally like korean but the fluency as u speak, if u had been more flowing in ur speech, u r perfect

  • your actually pretty good u need tobe more CONFIDENT

  • wow your great

  • If someone was to show me this video with only the audio and no video, I would think it's a Korean talking.
