Does the AI use Dreadnaught?

@Arbyther Nope, in fact I personally haven't seen the AI use the air Pandora chaingun attack, the charged beast uppercut, Round Trip, the heavy drive, Gun Stinger, and many other attacks. It doesn't DT either unlike the DMC3 Doppleganger boss.

It's still pretty smart for what it's programmed with, but it's only smart because it's "psychic".

@Sup750 Nope, he can only dash once in normal mode, but can dash an unlimited number of times in DT mode.

They really changed Dante's gameplay in 4, you should check it out.

@sharpDOOMplayer The only thing that CAN'T be Royal Guarded by the AI is Nero's Snatch and Buster. That's why one of the tricks to do as Nero is to use Snatch when he goes into Royal Guard mode.

Can never beat dante in the end. I would always have him on a chip of life left and then he goes royal. From that point it's either perfect block if I use distance attacks or royal release if I try to melee.

@rucchi7 You have ALL FOUR STYLES (+1 Dark Slayer) available to you simultaneously. You can switch on the fly at will.

This version of Dante is pretty broken that way.

I salute you fellow gamer. Beating bloody palace at 1:43:52 using a normal character is a very hard task. Even I using super Dante got a time of 1:23:48.

Actually, my fastest time has been about 1 hour 23 minutes with both Normal Dante and Nero. This is one of my older runs back when I had less skill. If you look at my Take 2 vids they will show you the faster time.

Nice... I salute you guy. Royal Guard is a tricky style to use, but if it's used right... it's the "silver bullet" for any fight. Good Job on the Royal Release, I got Dark Dante, Credo, Berial, Echnida, Blitz, and even Alto Angelo with a Royal Release.

I'm fucking pissed because I got up to the last level on bloody palace, and when the black dante had about a quarter of life left, he killed me with a royal guard attack. Is there anyway to hurt him without getting attacked by it?

When he's in Royal Guard mode, he will walk up to you trying to bait you so he can kill you with the Royal Release.

The problem is there is nothing you can do as regular Dante to stop this. What you do is walk up to him and keep jumping. Eventually the AI will try to do a Royal Release (even if it whiffs). After he does the Royal Release he will then immediately switch to another mode and you can go back to kicking his ass.

When he does that spinning attack he always does a little hop before he throws them. I usually just focus the camera on him and use trickster to dodge it easily.

I usualy go for DT against that spinning attack, I noticed if you damage him enough during it is a n instant stun.

Thanks - I thought he was un-staggerable when he does that spinning attack. I've never bothered to learn how to dodge/Royal Guard it since I try to kill him before he gets to do that.

Once you can use Yamato on him it becomes much easier to stop it by the damage method. ^^

I tipple s'ed him on son of sparda when I discovered that damaging him worked lol

Not sure of the exact numbers as it was still quite difficult to pull off without him getting a hit on me and lowering my rank. Just jump back if you think he is going to land a hit while your attacking it to be safe and demon trigger really ups your chances to.

How do you know when your on the losing side of a weopon clash?

You can tell by the way they animate themselves. If they close a weapon clash, they recoil back and have their sword held out high/upwards. If they win a weapons clash, they kinda knock their opponent's attack off to the side.

Try it against an Angelo - hit them when their shield is up. You will get an automatic weapon clash loss animation.

Actually, that is incorrect. You got the wrong uppercut.

The uppercut I'm doing is the Real Impact, aka the SHIN SHORYUKEN (back + Circle with Gilgamesh in Swordsmaster mode). The uppercut you're talking about is the Beast Uppercut (forward + Circle), which can be held to turn it either into a Rising Dragon (SHORYUKEN) or a Divine Dragon (SHINRYUUKEN)

What I'm doing is a Distorted Real Impact. Press back + circle, RIGHT after the first hit hits, go into DT mode, then immediately get out of DT mode, wait a hit, then go into DT mode and go out of DT mode AGAIN.

Basically you "distort" yourself into DT mode. For some reason, going into DT mode in the middle of the Real Impact causes it to do an extra hit or two, which adds TONS of damage to the move. It may be a glitch, we don't know. You can call it a feature.
