These are actually "Florestan and his sisters" in the Royal Ballet's production, not the Precious Stones. Laura Morera does a great job in the first solo, but I prefer when the Silver Fairy variation is danced as Pas de trois. I think the choreography works much better for a group than for a soloist.
I should just like to point out that a) the Royal Ballet (who are the last word in ballet) has no problem with their bodies, b) it is highly unlikely that the dancers in question are going to receive your 'constructive criticism' and c) the British ballet world does not pick people apart for anything other than soul and technique. This is a youtube video, please be nice. :)
@Thrsti4anime It did. This was music for when the three fairies and when Maleficent turned up. The music wasn't an evil characters music in the ballet, it was for Puss In Boots and The White Cat. Most of the music from the Disney movie is taken from the ballet and edited around a bit. Tchaikovsky didn't steal it from Disney. XD Haha
Really? You people are being pretty wicked for picking apart her body like this. All dancers are self-conscious about how they look, and not every company strives for the same aesthetic as let's say the Paris Opera.....
@ThePrimaballerina82 i am aware of the nature of the ballet world. i just believe in constructive criticism. unless a dancer is heavy or has built up the wrong type of muscles, she can't really do much to change her appearance. there is no real point in criticizing the body of a dancer who has gotten into the royal ballet with the skeletal structure that she was born with.
@SuperBalletgirl101 Yes I know what you mean. She has a funny chin. Now I just feel bad for 'dis'-ing her face. She has such strong technique, very crisp and dynamic :)
What difficult choreography to dance well, but she does such a good job! Does anyone else think her arms and legs are a little disproportionately short? Oh well, maybe that's why she can dance it so well. :)
Puss in boots is in here too!

@Lissbirds I agree! Fantastic! I love the exit by the precious stones, what is the tech term for steps on the exit?
oneill9875 2 months ago
@oneill9875 They're doing a series of grande jetés and saut de basque, I think. (My ballet terminology is a little rusty.)

Gir8Love I agree What a pity you still get uneducated people with no sense or a feeling for the art of dancing. I would like to see them try.

@stuckmonkey86 well hate to break it to you but that's how it is in the ballet world. dancers get picked apart and people are ruthless.

It's Laura Morera. I don't think her limbs are that short, I just think her head and is disproportionately big.
