This isn't KMN04 (potassium permanganate), which is a blackish powder. It is phenolphthalein, which is a colorless powder. Good guess, though. They both can turn water a reddish color, but phenolphthalein is better for the illusion. Besides, it is much safer. Potassium permanganate can be explosive, guys!!!

It'sn not KMN04. That powder is a dark, blackish color. This powder is colorless phenolphthalein, but you made a good guess. They have the same effect on coloring water red, but phenolphthalein (acidic) is better for the illusion, and is much safer. Potassium permanganate can be explosive, guys!!!!
