  • best beer down here anyway!! I´ll send a couple of new Imperial shirts any time.

Thanks for your guitar lessons. If you visit in the future, let me know.......

  • if you have some more standard please post it. i like it. thanks.

  • Is that an IMPERIAL beer shirt from Costa Rica?

  • @luisgcalvo It could be! I've not been there but my daughter spent a year in Puntarenas on the Pacific coast I send her to school for a year in a cool place, and all I get is a shirt. ;-)

  • Thank YOU man! peace..

  • Perfect teaching method !!

  • What a fantastic tutorial. I would ask if maybe a couple of those chords aren't spelled wrong. F#m7sus4 can't be both a minor chord AND a sus4, if i'm not mistaken. Could that chord be F#m7(add11)? At any rate - I use this video to teach my young guitar students. Many thanks David.

  • Hi,is this a WesMo l-5 or a 2 pickup l-5 ces???

  • @shecky308 I'm playing a 2000 Wes Montgomery L-5

  • Très belle interprétation.

    Félicitations

    André

  • Thank you so much for this!

  • i love this man

  • I'm sure you probably get asked this a lot, but what kind of guitar do you have? Its very nice!

  • thanks a whole lot for this lesson. it's great, and so is the arrangement. inspired me to pick up the guitar again.

  • so helpful thanks mate

  • so good

    what strings are you using?

    thanks

  • @novanine9 Thanks! I'm using Thomastik Infeld Bebop strings.

  • Thanks a lot, very generous of you!!!

  • when i'm sober, i'm gonna (attempt) to learn this sweet tune.

  • Who made this song?

  • @maceinater - The song was composed by Jerome Kern, and the lyrics were written by Oscar Hammerstein in 1939. The song was made for a musical at that time, but later it ended up becoming a Jazz-standard that tons of Jazz singers and Jazz musicians have covered.

  • thnx i loved this video, do you have an arrangement for "Somewhere over the Rainbow"?

  • This is really a master teaching lesson and nice quality arrangement. Excelente en todos sentidos, insuperable pedagogía,

  • I love the tune. Melodic theme ist just awesome, but it lasts sooo litle as such =((((

  • great, thanks a lot!

  • Thank you very much....beautiful voicings...

  • Excellent harmony and very tastefully delivered (as always).

    Cheers,

    allen

  • thank you for that...i learn it now.

  • Who sings this song ?

  • @Seven7StarJackson Ella Fitzgerald.. I like Frank Sinatra's version too.

  • If you find the B diminished/Ab hard to play you can use 7-x-6-7-8-x then 7-x-6-7-6 with middle finger on low B, index on A# (use bar), ring on D, pinky on G then down to bar with index on 6th fret. Also for the F#m7 you can use F#m7b5 (C instead of C#)

  • great playing, great tune, great lesson. So nice of you.cheers, joao

  • Niiiiiiiiiiiice.

  • this is great thanks

  • Awesome bossa nova rhythm. Fabuluous arrangement. The execution so sweet, so effortless, so simple and yet producing a sound so lush.

Thank you. Please post more videos for serious students, especially of popular standards. Thank you again.

  • You can listen my version ! Thank you, it is very beautiful.

  • that part at the beginning with the intervals with the g are awesome!

  • Always loved this tune! now I can play some of those sweet chords - it will take me some time to learn but thanks to have given this out. Not easy on the higher frets on the classic guitar though!

  • @ArribaZareba Thanks! Yeah, it would take some work to hit some of those chords on the higher frets on a classical with no cutaway. If you get it going, post a video - would love to hear it.

  • @ZamarGeetar thank you for your insights.....you sure have done your work!!! i really like your chord melody

tunes .....please do more!!...........where are the dvd's?? you have have soo much to teach!! i really enjoy your way of teaching! thanks again stforgione

  • @ArribaZareba Get a 14-fret nylon-string hybrid w/ a cutaway.

  • Hi, there...nice video, good aproach and good job!!! I only wanted to mention (or ask) a couple of things: when you go to Fmin7, it is F#min7, isn't it?? and in the next bar, B7, the notation says 7x797x but why not 7x787 ?

    Thank you a lot again!!!

  • That's great, thanks!

  • Wow! You hit this one out of the park. Great arrangement and excellent delivery. I wish I had heard this before I uploaded mine. This arrangement has some nice voicings I could have swiped. Please keep posting! 5*****

    Cheers,

    allen

  • nice thanks so much

  • Thanks for another good lesson. Your guitar sounds great.

I have seen these chord diagrams before. They are easy to write and easy (with practice) to read. But I have never heard them referred to as 'xograms'. Good word for them. Did you coin it?

  • Thanks! I can't take credit for "X--O-Gram".....I first had that term used by my good friend and awesome guitarist Jay Pilkington who lives in Missouri. Jay is blind and we talk guitar often over the phone and we use "X-O-Grams" to talk about chord voicings/fingerings over the phone.

  • Thank you so much. Great lesson. Keep up the good work.
