a Subaru impreza STi or an Audi A3

a Boss 302 mustang ... or a 1 series Bmw

Unless you got money to spend on a Sport touring car. american or japaniese cars offer FARRR better value for cheaer cars. germans have no idea how to build a nice car for cheap.
I have a bmw 5 series and the interior is silent, and made out of leather, aluminium and a bit of plastic... but even that plastic feels good and there is just no way to compare how all the moving bits and pieces feel to touch in comparison to an american car...
NEVER will you find sombody compairing peugot, citreon or renault To Ford, GM or Chrysler... its always about Vw, audi, BMW and Mercedes.

Well, actually the Ford Focus outsold the Audi A3 because people thought it was better value for money, so I guess they can be compared.the focus won. LOL. A class isn't that great either.
@v8cool1 Well that explains my point very clearly. The German auto makers predominantly sell luxury vehicles to the US. And now of course as people are beginning to watch their wallets, the around $15,000 Ford Focus is a better option than the $30-40,000 Audi A3 for the type and size of car...

@v8cool1 Well exactly, you pay for the Olympic badge so to speak. Audis are okay cars, but as long as the demand is for practical family cars - the Focus will outshine..
@GermanSoldierKMW True. In Britain (where I lived for nearly 4 years from '05 to late '08), certain laws and taxes force them to buy more "fuel efficient" and newer cars! What a rip off. If they could keep one car for 20 years or so, it would be more "Green" than buying a new one that has to be manufactured from Aluminum and parts form all over the world!
i think they are better because (iam american) america is afraid to make stuff that it nows most people can't afford and they dont want to take giant leaps to make better cars. for instance caddilac and lincoln nice cars the most luxuriest one of those verses most luxuriest audi, audi would win cuz the american car companies are scared to produce stuff of that quality (pussy's) and that grade of luxury. I dont know why they do but it pisses me off
I think they'd struggle to sell a mega top end car like europe does, because they have no Marques catering for that market. Do you think a millionaire would buy a Chevrolet for the cost of a Bentley? You nailed it there. SSC holds the top speed record for a while and they haven't sold well at all. The Saleen S7 didn't sell well. There is nothing wrong with them other than that they are American brands. They make a great super performance car and nobody wants it. It would be exactly the same with some sort of American Rolls Royce competition so why do it.
I know It's far far cheaper than the veyron, but its far far to expensive for a toy thats just made to be fast on a straight line. Besides you need perfect condititons a and a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong straight.
@RubenSidonioLacerda Most supercars are useless.Just impractical, over expensive, two seaters that are only good for going fast. Most spend there time cruising seafronts in expensive towns and occasionally being throttled for 10 second burstd.You've gotta be a pretty good driver to fully control them at high speed
...which is sad as the US used to build some very top end cars like Imperial, Lincolns, and Caddies, but they've now all become either extinct or 'Audi' class.
"american car companies are scared to produce stuff of that quality" They do produce good quality cars now though. Look at the CTS-V and Lincolns MKS for example. Real leather interior, real wood, real aluminium accents, full of gadgets!!
What makes me laugh is that European cars are getting ripped to shreds in the reviews lately. If it isn't made by VW, it is junk. Who sells the most small cars in Europe? Ford and Opel. With Toyota cutting costs, it is pretty much down to Honda, Nissan, Subaru, VW, Ford, and GM in the daily driver market. It is anyone's game and could be a great opportunity for American cars if they really have gotten their act together like they claim.
Thats because Audi has part owner ship of alot of Euro cars. Audi/ Skoda/ SEAT/ Bugatti, and shares in Lambo.
But I find that all abit boring. Like topgear once said. "German car makers spend so much time competing with each other, they end up making the same car"
I agree though, there is alot of crap euro cars, which seem to not get mentioned in these videos. Who knows, one day they migfht fall. Who would of thought 40 years ago, detroit would of fell so badly.
Someone should have told those managers that you don't cut costs at all costs and you don't instruct the engineers to design a car to last five years so that you can sell another one that much quicker. They deserve everything that has happened to them and probably worse. I just hope they have learned their lesson.
These videos are so stupid, not only are you completely biased, Europe Produces 3x the amount of cars that the US does. Its a continent vs a country. Obviously there are going to be better vehicles when you re making so many more.
that doesnt matter. the population of the USA is roughly the same as the population of the EU . workforce is the same, the market is the same (anyway its a group of united states vs a union of countries).. its purely down to a sense of style and taste. which the europeans have.
well saab used to be represented by the GM. not any more but yea it's wrong to say it's fucking american cuz americans love macdonald and have man's boobs and saab looks way to european looking to be owned by an american company with man's boobs workers.
I remember driving Benefactors ie the schafter and feltzer and the Sarrano to IMHO they build better cars then mercedes do the schafter is sportier the feltzer got a higher rating for ped impact tests and the serrano is looks really smart
european cars are the best 1 aston martin 2 lamborgini 3 ferrari 4 maserati 5 bugatti 6 porsche 7 bmw 8 mercedes 9 audi 10 jaguar 11 maybach 12 koenigsegg 13 rolls royce 14 Wiesmann (MF5 GT) and more
Last car I drove for my old company was a 2 year old SAAB. I parked it outside of the SAAB showroom for warrentywork....in a big cloud of smoke from the gearbox.
hey if you pay over there in america 40 000$ on a car in europe costs much more cuz we pay 40 000 euros...euro is stronger than the dollar...what are you talking about?you have 2 or 3 supercars which 90% of americans cant afford it anyway so shove it...go obama...you deserve it
in fact america is almost richer than the european union which is like 14 differrent countries combined. and we are still stronger. 1 againist 7+ countries
actually you are a continent cuz u unified with mexico and canada just like we did in europe and the new currency is AMERO...google it and you'll see...but if you don't know it and you're from america you just prove my point...
What doe`s wealth have to with cars? it just don`t make sense! see it this way: europeans make better cars, even tough america is richer! that only shows your incompetence, and non-excisting engineering skills.
The US has plenty of engineering skills. It's just that they target a market that want cheaper cars.
I mean in 1990 the US ran a speed record of 267 mph using a turbo'd 4 cylinder Oldsmobile engine.
Europe ain't always that great at engineering either. Look at the Veyron . A 16 cylinder quad turbo car,WITH AWD and it';s just abit slower and less powerfull than engine half its size that struggles with traction.
the marketing is a reasonable point, and a 267mph Buick is fast. but that isn`t an engineering feat. it isn`t hard to slapabig turbo on a carand squize out masses of juice. i am , however retreiving my statement that america cant build anything, cause they can, all these jet fighters and stuff. but why are they stillmaking cars with ancient tech, andoverzised, underpoweredengines? just look at the crown vic: 4,3l- 235hp. an then the Swedish police cars: volvov70 t5: 2,3l 247hp! thats a differnce
Well it was 267 MPH out of a 4 cylinder 2.0 engine. If its that easy to do, then how come no-one else has done it?
American car techs aren't ancient anymore. It's just that they don't over engineer everything. like euro car makers do.Alot of the stuff you get on hi-end euro cars, isn't neccessary, but still, cars like the Lincoln MKS for example, is fully loaded with up to date techs.
and the caddilac got 1,2l and 49hp more. if the m5 where to boast a 6,2l 556hp engine, it would easily beat the Cts-v. and then you got the overall us buildquality, with the crisp-plastic and fake leather. it just dont last! just the feel of us cars in general is just rubbish and remote.
Fake leather? Euro cars can be guilty of that too. Even top of the range mercs. You have to pay extra to get real leather, or you end up with fake vinyl leather.
Cars like the Lincoln MKS use real leather and suede etc.
And the Corvette uses A leaf SPRING. But it's been developed into something good. It sounds old fashioned, but it works well. They do have advantages.
But the BM also has 1 gear, and 2 more cylinders more than the Cadillac, as well as all the extra stuff.
It's not about the litres etc that results in speed. It's about how well tuned it is etc, gearbox etc. I mean, a HGV has a 13 litre engine turbo charged engine. Doesn't mean its faster than a car with less litres.
What I'm saying is that with all the fine tuning, F1 inspired this/ that , 2 extra cylinders and extra, gear, it still can't out perform the CTS-V that has less tuning and tech.
URBAN..That list was from 2006, from ONE website, based on results for cars sold in America ( hence why most of those cars, aren't really sold in Europe and Japan).
by the way europeans need what? maintinance every 50.000km, and you need to go to a special dealer so he can charge you 100s of euros thats messed up, american cars only need new oil every year and never break down... european cars are shit after 250.000km there little engine's cant handel manny km thats pathetic
1) GM Minivans (Chevrolet Uplander, Saturn Relay, Buick Terraza, Pontiac SV6) 2) Jeep Compass 3) Buick Rendezvous 4) Chrysler Aspen 5) Hummer H2 6) Chevrolet Monte Carlo 7) Subaru B9 Tribeca 8) Saab 9-7x 9) Lincoln Mark LT 10) Chevrolet Aveo 10 worst cars in the world, poll taken from 2 US car, 2 jappanesse car and 2 european car magasines.
The Hummer H2 is the best stock SUV u can buy for offroading better then a defender (stock) and yeah they made alot of crap cars, but look at VW the passat is a magic car, the windows roll down when you reach 120, the AC only works when you dont need it... germany also makes crap cars, but you cant say the american pickups, SUVs, muscle cars, exotics and luxury cars are crap. they'll outlast almost anny other car
yeah id probably agree with u there, hummer is best suv offroad, onroad id have to say range rover. and im not putting down american cars, they make allot of great cars. i was just sayin, cant call european cars shit when amercia is juust as bad when it comes to crap cars
have you ever driven a passat? it is one of this centurys most well built cars, the windows is air tight, the ac works fine.
regards, one who have a 12yr old passat with 738.500km on the odometer. still everything works fine. American suv`s aluminium foil and bubblegum, end of story.
the century's most well built car is hate it or love it the Ford Crown Vic
i own a 50 year old impala with even more km on the odometer still everything works fine. european cars might get more hp out of a engine but at 2-3 time's the price american car's aren't the best in the world neither are eurpean. These are all FACTS! you saing "American suv`s aluminium foil and bubblegum" is your opinion
did you know that the average milage of a 1987-1994Mercedes w124 is?600.000km
Also you have much easier roads in usa. straight and even. in Europe, the cars are more exposed to bad driving conditions, wich wears and tears on the car. when you are driving along at a highway in 65mph all day, any car would last forever. and dont talk to europe about bad quality usa makes Chrysler. the defintive poorest built cars in the world.
I? check my profile and see where i live, and I drive american cars here take a look at the list of best quality cars in the world Buick (GM) is first for the last 5 years and if you look at individual cars the Porsche GT2 RS and Dodge Challenger ( Chrysler) share first place.
and please look at how the corvette handels who care's about leaf spring if perfecting old technologie every car brand is guilty (the gasoline engine is 100 years old)
there's no use in posting all exotics european wins? LOL
The fastest exotic is the SSC Ultimate Aero raping your Veyron in the ass,
The ACR Viper is the fastest car on your nurburgring
and the Saleen S7 thats just one beautyfull car and you cant deny that
the M5 gets raped in the ass by the CTS-V,
what makes european cars so great? they all use tiny little 4 cylinders without anny HP i live in europe and im the only one in my town with a car with more then 375hp and its not even a race car
dont forgetthat the veyron is a luxury car in addition to be a supercar, it comfortable and smooth. the ssc is a full-on beast. it has 182hp morethan the veyron and it weighs 500kg less. how come it`s only 2mph faster? buy an e.c.u upgrade for the M5, get 30hp more, it will eat the Cts-v for breakfast. it will out-handle any american production car.
"buy an e.c.u upgrade for the M5, get 30hp more, it will eat the Cts-v for breakfast."
You can't use "What ifs, and if you" in an arguement about cars. The fact is, they're not fitted with an ECU upgrade/. I could say, If you stick two more cylinders and another turbo on the CTS-V, it'd wipe the floor with an M5 that has an ECU upgrade. You could go forever listing potential upgrades, but the fact remains, from the factory is what the car is truely about.
SAAB isn't american, it is swedish... Sweden is in Northern Europe.
SAAB: Svenska Aeroplan AktieBolaget (Anonimous Society of Swedish Airplanes)...
I'm agree, the worst cars are japanese... American cars are old dinosaurs... European are the best, but what about Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, SEAT, Mini Cooper???
ha ha dude it aint bad but still doesnt have good technology and the axels, brakes, suspension, all of the important behind the scenes stuff isnt spectacular yet it is a decent car tho
rrr is some one forgetting one car called the GTR are we? hmmmm or the ZR1? hmmmmmmmmmmm wait wait last time i check there the top two cars to take on the Nurburgring?
P.S. its not called Asian it's JDM
oh ya don't call me a fan boy cause i drive an 996 turbo
European cars are the best and all people in the world wants to have a lamborghini,ferrari,BMW,Mercedes or Audi becouse that are cars made whit passion.
European cars are simply the best. I don't want to look cheap in some asian car that every teen is driving around, Budget car. A VW is a better looking then any Honda, Nissan, because of the fact that a european car is designed with passion for a purpose. To stand out from the rest . You can buy a fine built VW For the same price as Honda or Nissan. I'll take European engineering anyday over American/Asian. American cars suck. Some may look nice but they all use the same formula over and over.
DUMB FUCKS all the Japanese cars were american-japanese cars, no mitsibushi shoguns?warriors? accura dont exist in japan. japanese cars by far the most reliable american cars are the worst. anyone want leaf spring suspensions with mild steel V8 engines,the chassis made of rusty mild steel and the interior made of chinese plastics
European Cars (the good ones) are almost exclusively for affulent people. The BMW's and Mercedes cost a fortune. The American cars give good value and performance for the money and have been over their quality problems for 6 or 7 years.
The Asian Cars (Japan ) are the most reliable (but not by very much) . They are the least innovative but best at Quality control. The European Cars are worst at reliability and cost a fortune to repair. I know this from personal experience. I've owned all 3.
You missed a lot eh? The cadillac DTS competes with the S class and 7 series. And what about the M class, it's not really considered a crossover, the R class would be more suited if ANYTHING. And what about the GLK? The GLK would go up against the BMW X3. I could go on, but I won't.
why do you have acura, lexus, and infiniti under asian cars? those are american and saab is european, besides.. alot of these cars were built and have parts from different countries
(i like north american, asian, and european cars all the same by the way.. the only ones i dont like are australian ones lol)
european cars are really nice but you gett cars like the new zr-1 or a henessey viper and performance is not much different from alot of euro supercars and they are way cheaper
Yeah, but Corvette didn't have to undercome such an expensive developmetn as Ferrari when making Enzo. There are even some parts from Ferrari's sub factories in Corvette.
Asian Cars: Going to the store and getting hit by a European car and now the Asian car is salvage while the European car drives off without a scratch.
American Cars: Going to the store and not making it because the car broke down.
European Cars: Going to the store arriving in style doing grocery shopping and on the way back pick up some chicks (women) and bring them to your house for some fun.
well they all look pretty cool, but here in EU we don't have american cars, just jeeps and fords, all others are mainly european and some asian cars too.
Thats fine.. we dont need them there anyways. General Motors cant make anything right... Saab is gone because of them, thank god Saturn is going out to stop sharing Opels design and technology..
Wow, and American Saab!! 4x4 (crossover/off roader's)- Unless you want to pay through the teeth for them and get a car that's more ponce than play, I would steer well clear of the European's. SUV- If you can't decide between a sport vehicle and a utility vehicle, good luck picking a brand. (Sorry, personal dislike getting in the way there.) Luxury/sports- European all the way or Japanese for the lighter budgets. I've owned, driven and repaired a lot of cars and this is what I found. :)
Yes....I know, OWNED by GM, that means the company is in American hands, but the vehicles are still designed and built in Sweden (Or there abouts) Just as Aston Mertin are owned by god knows who now, it changes hands so often, buy al Astons are still designed and built in their original factory in Britain. Saab is American owned, but that doesnt make it American.
Japanese are so reliable because of the electronics, and they are made by Japanise and those people are perfectionist... They say that people from Japan have 7 days of vekation and they use only 5...
Well Lexus is just an upgrade of Toyota, many things are the same in an LS and in Avensis, like buttons, plastic, ect, what makes th car cheaper...
And BMW has won most of the adwards for they engines, if they are going to fix it or not i don't care, i don't like BMW.
so the Q7 is an SUV and a Cossover...And aparently our only luxury sport sedan is a cadillac...You should compare our pickup trucks to yours...oh wait
The ones built in Austria are few. Mostly? Built in the U.S.
And I am from North America, which is the biggest market for cars, and this is what Germans do, give us crappy unreliable American SUVs that have German brand badge.
Are you joking? I am not criticizing the made in America part, I am saying Germans don't know how to educate the American workers. Many Toyota SUVs and trucks are built in the US, and they always get great reliability rating. Because the Japanese know how to tell them how to build cars. But the Germans don't.
And that's why BMW X series and Mercedes SUVs got super bad reliability rating on the first releases, and even today, it's not that different.
Ya, so name me a Toyota or Honda car built in Europe I said? Toyota and Honda do NOT make cars in Europe, because of cost problem.
And what is better if it's built in Europe? Reliability is still extremely bad even if it was built in Germany, so what now? Tell me? What is BETTER if it was built in Europe?
First of all the plastic in the car is better, the car has different settings, the safety is better, ect.
German cars are tops for reliability, according to the 2007 car breakdown report by Germanys motoring organisation ADAC. Of the eight different vehicle categories, six top spots are in the hands of German automakers.
Wake up it isnt 2002 anymore, Toyota isn't the best...
ROFL you believe a GERMAN REPORT? Did you know some report from Germany tells you that the most reliable brand is MERCEDES? And yet, JD power associates and Consumer reports basically give WORSE THAN AVERAGE rating for MERCEDES-BENZ. You believe a German report? You must be seriously fucked up in your head LOL
Do you know what kind of crimes are big in Germany? FRAUD and BRIBING.
It's the best? Some biased report can be considered as the BEST?
Just to let you know, check out the video that's in my channel, it compares Infiniti G37 to BMW 335i and BMW loses horribly because of overheating issue. BMW engineers are aware of this problem, but they don't fix it. Why?
European cars are better by far. American cars are poor. The Japanese cannot compete with us, because lets face it, all of them are just green machines that homo's drive.

The SSC is ugly as hell...
And its just meant to be a toy...
I know It's far far cheaper than the veyron, but its far far to expensive for a toy thats just made to be fast on a straight line. Besides you need perfect condititons a and a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong straight.
Other than that.... useless
RubenSidonioLacerda 2 months ago

@hawksleyart01
CorvetteRacingFan 1 year ago
@CorvetteRacingFan
Who would of thought 40 years ago, detroit would of fell so badly.
hawksleyart01 1 year ago
@hawksleyart01
Someone should have told those managers that you don't cut costs at all costs and you don't instruct the engineers to design a car to last five years so that you can sell another one that much quicker. They deserve everything that has happened to them and probably worse. I just hope they have learned their lesson.

@dryan2
Continent vs a Country ?
that doesnt matter. the population of the USA is roughly the same as the population of the EU . workforce is the same, the market is the same (anyway its a group of united states vs a union of countries).. its purely down to a sense of style and taste. which the europeans have.
john2890 1 year ago

Yes, but theres only a couple of parts of the US building and designing cars, where as theres more imput from more countries in europe.

What doe`s wealth have to with cars? it just don`t make sense! see it this way: europeans make better cars, even tough america is richer! that only shows your incompetence, and non-excisting engineering skills.
Bmwe30v10 2 years ago
@Bmwe30v10
A 16 cylinder quad turbo car,WITH AWD and it';s just abit slower and less powerfull than engine half its size that struggles with traction.
hawksleyart01 2 years ago
the marketing is a reasonable point, and a 267mph Buick is fast. but that isn`t an engineering feat. it isn`t hard to slapabig turbo on a carand squize out masses of juice. i am , however retreiving my statement that america cant build anything, cause they can, all these jet fighters and stuff. but why are they stillmaking cars with ancient tech, andoverzised, underpoweredengines? just look at the crown vic: 4,3l- 235hp. an then the Swedish police cars: volvov70 t5: 2,3l 247hp! thats a differnce
Bmwe30v10 2 years ago
@Bmwe30v10
Well it was 267 MPH out of a 4 cylinder 2.0 engine. If its that easy to do, then how come no-one else has done it?
American car techs aren't ancient anymore. It's just that they don't over engineer everything. like euro car makers do.Alot of the stuff you get on hi-end euro cars, isn't neccessary, but still, cars like the Lincoln MKS for example, is fully loaded with up to date techs.
hawksleyart01 2 years ago
look at the latest z06, it got leaf springs!
and the caddilac got 1,2l and 49hp more. if the m5 where to boast a 6,2l 556hp engine, it would easily beat the Cts-v. and then you got the overall us buildquality, with the crisp-plastic and fake leather. it just dont last! just the feel of us cars in general is just rubbish and remote.
Bmwe30v10 2 years ago
@Bmwe30v10
But the BM also has 1 gear, and 2 more cylinders more than the Cadillac, as well as all the extra stuff.
hawksleyart01 2 years ago
@Bmwe30v10
It's not about the litres etc that results in speed. It's about how well tuned it is etc, gearbox etc. I mean, a HGV has a 13 litre engine turbo charged engine. Doesn't mean its faster than a car with less litres.
What I'm saying is that with all the fine tuning, F1 inspired this/ that , 2 extra cylinders and extra, gear, it still can't out perform the CTS-V that has less tuning and tech.
hawksleyart01 2 years ago
@Bmwe30v10
I mean look at the M5. F1 inspired diff, gearbox and engine, I-drive etc....and it still only performed as well as the CTS-V with less technology.
Same with the Veyron/ SSC.
hawksleyart01 2 years ago
@Bmwe30v10
And look at FIAT, peugeot, Renault, Lancia, MG ,Renault. Not exactly engineered to the best are they? Even Ferraris are delicate ornaments.
If it wasn't for the US engineering, we'd all be driving around in primitive luxury-less opentop wagons.

The ACR Viper is the fastest car on your nurburgring

the M5 gets raped in the ass by the CTS-V,
what makes european cars so great? they all use tiny little 4 cylinders without anny HP i live in europe and im the only one in my town with a car with more then 375hp and its not even a race car

dont forgetthat the veyron is a luxury car in addition to be a supercar, it comfortable and smooth. the ssc is a full-on beast. it has 182hp morethan the veyron and it weighs 500kg less. how come it`s only 2mph faster? buy an e.c.u upgrade for the M5, get 30hp more, it will eat the Cts-v for breakfast. it will out-handle any american production car.

InfinitiGPower 3 years ago
For European market cars are made in Europe...
Anything from USA is bad, no matter wich badge is on...
player1vladimir 3 years ago
Are you joking? I am not criticizing the made in America part, I am saying Germans don't know how to educate the American workers. Many Toyota SUVs and trucks are built in the US, and they always get great reliability rating. Because the Japanese know how to tell them how to build cars. But the Germans don't.
And that's why BMW X series and Mercedes SUVs got super bad reliability rating on the first releases, and even today, it's not that different.
InfinitiGPower 3 years ago
Nope. We had a test here between cars built in Europe and cars built in USA
Every car (KIA, Mercedes, BMW, Toyota ect.) is better when it is built in Europe. And its more expensive....

InfinitiGPower 3 years ago
Toyota aygo is built in Europe
First of all the plastic in the car is better, the car has different settings, the safety is better, ect.
German cars are tops for reliability, according to the 2007 car breakdown report by Germanys motoring organisation ADAC. Of the eight different vehicle categories, six top spots are in the hands of German automakers.

Just to let you know, check out the video that's in my channel, it compares Infiniti G37 to BMW 335i and BMW loses horribly because of overheating issue. BMW engineers are aware of this problem, but they don't fix it. Why?
Because they can't. LOL!!
