most people that say that

A.) probably dont play an instrument

B.) Watch MTV and see Pete Wentz (not a good bassist). Thats what most ppl percieve bass to be like.

C.) have never heard bassists like Claypool, wooten, clarke, Miller, ect.

D.) an instrument is only as hard as you make it. Pete wentz plays four notes in different order. I was able to do that on my first day of playing the bass. I chose not to play that cuz i knew if that was as good as i wanted to play id never get anywhere
