  • Am I the only one who thinks this guy is off hiss rocker? lol.

  • can i put amd 6790 with amd 7970? pls someone answer

  • This guy does his job with so much passion, this is the only fucking review I watching in last 2 years!! :)))

  • Great intro song :D

  • this card SUCKS! i have 2 crossfired and the framerates are complete SHIAT! the temps are also SHIAT!

  • @freekazoidism No you don't so dont lie and if you do you must be handicapped at choosing parts for your computer

  • @bakercrazy2 that was a joke they are currently the best cards you can get (if in crossfire)

  • best intro ever!!!

  • 56 people have had problems of their Nvidia cards overheating!

  • i will wait for 8970 apperently it will launch end of 2012 or start of 2013

  • Song please!

  • and sorry for not asking this earlier , but whats the max temp for this thing?

  • 45*

  • You are just jealous that you are not as good looking as the other people or the 7970 so you talk crap. even though other peoples life sucks as they are you rude commenters just enjoy making other peoples life more miserable so you can feel good about your gay self esteem

  • i hope the bulldozer 2nd gen kicks ass like the 79xx series

  • @HyperActivePlayers the bulldozer 1gen kicked the ass of intel in video editing because the structure and architecture of the bulldozers is designed for programs, which know how to use the cpu! in games this isnt like that-....

  • Comment removed

  • @HyperActivePlayers there is gonna be a gen 2`? first time i herd about it...thanks for telling me^^

  • @SnakePlizkin AMD Piledriver o_o

  • I'm using ATI from 7 years soo far and never had problem with drivers or the cards it self. Probably you sad kids dont know how to use/update your PC's soo dont blame AMD for your stupidity! :)

  • @plasheev you must be stupid :]

  • @plasheev and if they fail with nvidia then they go to apple ;)

  • This really isn't a significant jump if any over my oc'd 580,plus ati is notorious for shitty drivers so I'll probably wait for nvidia's 600 series

  • enjoy your shit drivers.

  • Give nvidia 2 months...

  • @mesuirchief lol yea took amd 1 year to build a single gpu card that could beat a gtx580 the 580 equivalent from nvidia is going to smoke this card

  • @VickeyLang: Sorry, I can't. :(

  • Here in the Philippines, the cheapest 7970 costs the same as a reference GTX 580.

  • @Jonjonita can you ship me one? i live in sweden

  • @VickeLang cant you just visit German for a day and buy one there ? Or just order from some of AMD's Vendors i'm sure they will ship you one.

  • I have AMD Phenom II X4 965 can it keep up with 7970?

  • @irmissslive Yes, I think its still a good processor. There are some games where it will struggle, like skyrim.. but for the rest you wont notice. You should evaluate some other things, like your monitor's resolution.. If u play at 1080p, 1600p then this VGA will do good, otherwise you probably will get the same performance from something smaller, maybe a 6870 or 6950.

  • @irmissslive I would but the 7950 if I where you.

  • @manyalforever thx for advice, i thinking of OC my CPU to about 3,8 MHZ - 4,0 mhz

  • would 1.5gb of memory be good enough for high end games?

  • @TheJimmyman888 1gb is enough...

  • Thanks for this review. It's helped me make up my mind. 7970.

  • great intro! Hahaha

  • So many fanboys on here , i feel ashamed to own a 6870 because of you guys

  • Cheng cheng, bling bling.. hate that fucking ad

  • Man, $580 is insane. I'm used to paying around $380 for new Radeon cards.

  • @n3rdbear Come to australia; a HD7970 is $750+

  • @Intel1502 your ego attempt is a total fail. That's Australian money which converts to the same price in the United States.

  • @n3rdbear $750 Australian dollars = $800 American dollars... It's actually more; you twit.

  • @Intel1502 It's the same price conversion, you fag. You're like one of those idiots who prides in being in a bad situation competing whose town has a much colder temperature. I bet when someone says they have a small dick, you probably say you have a smaller dick lmao.

  • @n3rdbear "lmao"? Christ, your ad-hom is so pitiful... "It's the same price conversion" I'm not sure whether you're high whilst writing this, because that made no sense; our pricing is garbage, I'm not "priding" myself in the fact, merely stating it's true.

  • @Intel1502 go back to to fapping to Macbook Air posters, you Mac hipster.

  • @n3rdbear Fail troll is fail.

  • @Intel1502 mac hipster fag is a fag

  • @n3rdbear australian dollar is worth more that United states idiot.

  • @walkingthroughhell1 it's the same price conversion, you faggot.

  • My new gaming pc will have a couple of these in crossfire, so excited!

  • I love that Guy .. good review mate

  • he said 246GB/s of memory instead of 264GB/s... listen carefully... thumbs up if it s true :D

  • Face it: the best just got better

    -AMD

  • Can anybody tell me the power requirement for TWO Radeon 7970's in crossfire? Thanks.

  • @rogeraniston 1200watt

  • @rogeraniston For single card is 500-550W soo for evey other card you want to install put extra 250W to that number.

  • @plasheev listen im getting crossfire 6870 and amd phenom ii x4 2.6ghz with 8 gb ram is this psu and mobo enough please check OCZ PC-aggregat ZS Series 550 W and ASUS F1A75-M LE

  • @Knightmares100 it probably will be fine but id recommend getting a slightly more powerful one for the headroom and also the it gives you the option to upgrade to a better card in the future this may run fine but it wouldn't run a say gtx570/580 or 6950/6970 where a 650watt would only 1 of course and if you ever want to sli/crossfire 2 giants the you are going to need at least a 750/850watt psu NEVER cheap out on the powersupply

  • @Knightmares100 You cant put Phenom II in socket F1, F1 is for AMD APU's only, for phenom II AM2/AM2+/AM3 motherboards only.

  • Thumbs Up IF You Think AMD Will Be Always Better Than NVIDIA.

  • Can anybody tell me the price of hd 7970?

  • @Uzair534 Anywhere from $500-$1,000 on ebay. You might wanna check out Newegg and some other sites as well.

  • @Uzair534 Last I saw it was a little over 500 US dollars with a couple versions hitting the 600 dollar mark.

  • This is why I love AMD. Performance on all their products is better than all Nvidea.

  • freakin love the metal guitar music, FREAKIN LOVE THE CARD!! >_<

  • damn, great card, not so pricey but a little, and 3gb gddr5 might be a good money's worth.

  • I might gonna buy this card in a year or so

  • rip nvidea

  • Wtf was up with that intro?

  • @Hadin101 I will when Nvidia releases their next line up. But right now, the 580 or 590 are the only cards that are comparable performance wise. I am sure Nvidia can do the same as AMD if they decide to take the 28nm route as well. But over the last couple years, Nvidia has been the power hog/volcano in a pc, granted they are generally the faster card in most cases.

  • @TommyDaGreat From what I have heard, its not great. I am going to wait till MSI makes a Twin Frozr version or if anyone else makes something similair. XFX has their "Black Edition" out, but it is still a little loud for my taste. I prefer to keep my system well under 30db

  • Ehm, I've got nothin to say about that intro.

It's AWFUL. What are you thinking, you are crazy and i won't see that as a compliment.

  • HOW is the fan volume on this card?

  • Comment removed

  • @keshaz12 I know, but AMD has been beating out Nvidia in the power and thermal needs lately. Nvidia cards have been fairly notorious for being powerhogs. But admittedly, Nvidia normally comes out on top for Top Dead Performance. I was just impressed that the new cards are getting so much performance out of so little power.

  • AMD - NVIDIA

  • 28 nm GPU , it really fast

  • go die in a bush

  • oh here is a posting of my P4089 :( it shames me 3dmark. com/3dm11/2598963

  • I dont understand why im only getting P4089 im very sad, it said drivers are not supported so maybe that's why... also said my speeds were core 300mhz and mem 150mhz.... um thats idle settings no? im still on stock settings i should be at 925 and 1375, i have the gigabyte reference 7970.

I'd like to also say my temps are 72c-82c under max load with 40-50% fan speed. anything more than 50% fan is to loud... is 72c-82c normal for playing a game with those fan speeds?

  • So if we compare AMD Radeon HD 7970 and NVIDIA GTX 590 which card is better? And is it as loud as AMD Radeon HD 6990?

  • @Newman4096 ........ and this only applies when amd is the better graphics card? Fricken nvidia fanboys can't come up with anything other than mutual destructive comments. Fact is any high performance system made at this point in time, would work the best with this card.... and nvidia can't do sht about that till their card that will more or less tie this one finally crawls out of the woodwork

  • чеза говно я разочарован в амд ...

сравнивать с 580, а что будет когда у нвидии новая серия выйдет??

  • Nvidia is getting fucked in the eye?

  • @Knightmares100 The FX4100+8Gb RAM+6870 afcourse if you want to play games, the i7 if you want to wonder why you spend you money on it later. :) No hate on Intel, just 2nd configuration is more balanced then the 1st one.

  • no physx ?

  • @cherrypopsiclesful PhysX is an nVidia technology.

  • @cherrypopsiclesful Physx is Nvidia only

  • The Metal song?

  • @Justathought81 something to belive in

  • hahaha love the intro

  • Buy HD 7970, buy BF3, Lots of money spent, Game run smoother, still suck at playing the game.

  • I love how the 7970 is outperforming the 580 and using nearly 100watts less power

  • @xxmr47xx

580 is a generation before the 7970, as new GFX release, they get more powerfull but with less power needed and heat producing.

  • @xxmr47xx hmm 40nm vs 28nm, I wonder why

  • @xxmr47xx You cant even compare them its a whole generation ahead of the 580 wait until nvidia release their new card then you can compare

  • Comment removed

  • 28nm holly crap things are moving quick.

  • do want

  • just a note- if you overclock both- 590 and 7970 the performance gap is probably gonna be even bigger as new radeons have big OC potential

  • Plz sing again then 680 are coming!

  • @BNHardwarereviews keep in mind, it will come LATER. its not very fair to compare older hw to newer. even its just few months. If you are REALLY familiar with PC graphic card history, you should know that Ati was always step ahead. not always faster, coz often nVidia comes half year later and rules for a while, till Radeons come to next level. so lets not be fanboys and buy card that is best deal At The Moment. peace

  • I just got this card yesterday and I must say i love it. The fan however is very loud 50% and up, but on auto settings it doesn't reach that. I really want to watercool it since i have the h80 cpu watercooler. Sadly, my card is not stable at the 1125/1500 stock max clock as many others have reported :(. oh well 1000 mhz is alll i really need

  • Good hardware, terrible support, just like Hardocp correctly points out

Terrible drivers, poor image quality, broken anisotrpic filtering, broken Crossifre,

issues with old games, issues with new games, crappy OpenGL, screen tearing in Eyefinity,

fixed issues getting broken in new driver releases

  • where can i download this graphics card?

  • @JuicYouS are you serious? DOWNLOADING a graphics card?

  • @driveandkill clearly you don't get the fact that he is joking...

  • @VinnyMB25 Well I don't think pretending to be a retard is a joke.

  • @driveandkill being sarcastic is and that is what he was doing

  • @JuicYouS

    Apparently, not MegaUpload.

  • @JuicYouS You cant man ACTA is here now! :D

  • Im sorry dude, but when I heard you sing I threw my headphones. Good attempt at humor, but my only natural reaction is to punch your lights out to make it stop!!! lol

  • what about its idle power consumption & noise levels?

  • How about the noise levels ?

  • Once The Nvidia Kepler Is Release This Is Going Down

  • When i saw and heard the first 3 seconds of the video, i thought:"oh man, hes gonna make a fool of himself." but then, actually that was very well performed.

  • But does it officially and legally support PhysX?

  • @Zeaguwanna no but a dedicated physx card does.

  • can u compare 560ti sli to 7970?

  • it;s not fair to compare the HD 7970 to GTX 580, HD 7970 is a new generation with new architecture, how fair is it to compare hd 4890 and gtx 580 (or gtx 480)?? its the same thing

the gtx 580 is a 40 nm arc , hd 4890 is 55 nm arc , and the hd 7970 is a 28 nm arc..

Amd,s new card is relly good ok,,, but to say --yes in your face nvidia whoo amd fuck ye...

in my opinion is wrong,,whait untill nvidia releaces theirs new architecture in 28 nm, gtx 780

then compare that to hd 7970

  • @cossiemartin your retarded. Its not an actual comparison over which is greater. Of course the 7970 is going to win, the point of the comparison is to give people an idea of just how much more powerful it actually is. Not a comparison so much as a reference for new buyers.

  • @5433dan3345 read the fucking comments arsehole, page after page with ha ha go and

cry nvidia,, in your face nvidia. and so on..

hd 7970 its not that great,,it is an normal step up for a new gen card,,

  • @5433dan3345 you're*

  • @cossiemartin lol it's actually a fair comparison still.. 580 was the reigning king... now it's the 7970... comparing the old best with the new best...sounds fair enough... then when kepler comes.. another comparison will come out

  • @cossiemartin you're dumb what do you expect to compare it to? nothing?

  • @SuperHenmen no i a not,,im just reacting to way people think,,some think that amd

will role the world with this new card,,,look att the "vid" among the first sentences

"nvidia better wath out",,,oh no a new amd card witch is better than a 2 years old nvidia

card,, wow... it,s kind of expected.

of curse they have to compare it to gtx 580 it,s the old king, but as an reference not as

    a direct competition

  • @cossiemartin ah i see, yeah people shouldn't only favor one brand or another. For instance I'm switching from an Nvidia 9800gtx+ to an amd HD 7970. I look at the big picture.

  • @cossiemartin U have no idea dude....

  • @cossiemartin *sigh* So what are you going to compare it to? duuuh you can only compare it with what's out, and yeah it is a smack in nVidia's face because they have nothing that can compete with it, and we have to wait until April to see nVidia's 28nm bid, giving AMD a 4 month head start, where my guess is they won't just stand still. I'm just sick of this idiotic excuse, if the 480 came out while AMD only had 4890, no matter the process it's what you would compare it with!

  • What would you guys choose for a 46in tv

  • @hecjr822 Full HD packed TV with at least 3 porn channels

  • Wow ... lol :D AMD has really shitted themselves this time :D With all the new stuff that the 7970 has ,a 590GTX with crush it and send it back to AMD for a refund. Boy I can't wait for the Nvidia's 6th Series to come out! <3<3<3

  • @violatorx7 Lol you do know the 590 is a DUAL gpu card as the 6990. and even there the 6990 beat the 590. 580 is their best single gpu and the 7970 beats it flawless..

  • hahaha nvidia is getting snapped in the eye ! epic ownage ahahahaha laugh my ass off

  • almost 100watt lower consumption.. thats just mindblowing. :)

  • hey he blinked while singing the song 0:4 :-) crazy guy :-)

  • Can't wait to see what Nvidia does next ....

  • Are you utilizing PCI Express 3.0 with this card?

  • My pc. Has 3gb of ram.

  • @beatdathaguy98

    RAM is different than VRAM.

  • EPIC CARD!!!!

  • I'd be more excited if I hadn't already invested in an NVIDIA 3D Vision setup. It would be too expensive to change camps now, so I'll just have to wait for NVIDIA's next line of GPUs.

  • hmmm this card is getting like 10 fps more then gtx 580... good for amd but there's one problem... Nvidia will soon release kepler GPUs which are supposed to be 2 to 3 times faster then current nvidias cards which will blow amd out of the water.

  • @sermerlin1 kepler is like 6 months away though, being first means a lot in the gpu market.

  • @sermerlin1 Well once the drivers for this beast matures I'm sure were see some different numbers, but regardless both are ganna be killer cards weather your an AMD fan or Nvidia fan, tech is getting better and faster all the time so it's now more about preference an or price in some cases then anything now. I've used both an both have there ups an downs so its a tossup, I may even go Hybrid if that's even still possible with my next build lols (AMD as main GPU, Nvidia as PhysX) lol

  • @sermerlin1 haha you are dreaming why is nvidia allways behind amd?? the first dx11 graphics card was from amd, nvidia comes 7 months later copy what the need from amd and make somethings better, it wheres better when bothe release the cards together then amd win, nvidia was 4 years behind amd in DDR5 Ram!!!

  • @richie2801 lol yeah amd released first dx11 cards but they are shit compared to nvidia. If nvidia coppied arhitecture how come that nvidia was still better until amd released 7970 card? Better wait and make it good then release it now and be shitty.

  • @sermerlin1 i think you forget one card!! its still the fastest dx11 graphics card in the world 5970 toxic edition the card is since beginning faster then all nvidia cards, but in benchmarks the are not listet its a dual gpu with 4gb ram and brings in BF3 90-125 FPS!! now your turn, when Nvidia is so good why they cant beat that Card???

  • the 7970 is 716 dollars in sweden :(

  • @Nyllet1221 Deliberately priced high so there isn't a retailer backlash. As a low price would obsolete existing stock of 6000 series which shops want to move out.

  • Better performance with a lower load temp and less power consumption? This certainly doesn't disappoint.

  • He didn't blink once! o.O

  • hehehe..cool card &funny guy

    greetings from egypt Man

  • I dont know what the crap a rops is but god i want this monster of a card.

  • @lendial ROPs and Texture units depending on how much they are the card is fast or slow.

    More ROP's = Faster Card

    Base clock * ROP's = Pixel Fillrate

Base clock * TPU = Texture Fillrate, like

    900Mhz * 128 TPU = 115,2 Gtexels ( HD7970 ) TPU is Texture Process Unit

  • Gatta give it to AMD they really pulled it off this time around, an they just keep getting better with every series.

  • @Sphoxros now if they could get their cpus up to speed and we would see some competition in the cpu market.

  • @lendial I know right, but the other problem with that is that no application is even designed to take actual advantage of there new cpu's architecture, until then there basically a flop of a cpu an your just better off getting a X4 980 or a X6 1100, (either one is good) like myself I have an OCed 955BE @ 3.8GHz so I'm peachy for awhile lols I just need a new video card >.> cause my HD4890's lacking! I mean I still pull 40+ FPS in Skyrim at 1080p 16x AF 2x AA with mods so not to bad.

  • @Sphoxros skyrim isnt a good example because that game is ridiculously poorly optimize
